in the making. Thanks Obama. The Middle East couldn't have been more messed up without Hillary and yourself stirring up the hornets nest.
2. Will post-Assad Syria reinforce Hizballah?

3. THE UNITED STATES, SYRIA AND SO ON...
A WONDER-S. R. ,   MULTIVERSE   (01.30.12)
IN PRINCIPLE, IN THAT CASE TOO, GRADUALLY AT LAST THE UNITED STATES SHOULD SUPPORT THE UNITED NATIONS ORGANIZATION TO HELP THE SYRIAN PEOPLE, GET RID OF THE (ISLAMICAL) DICTATORSHIP IN SYRIA SO THAT THE WILL OF THE SYRIAN PEOPLE IS ABLE TO PREVAIL, OR OTHERWISE THE USA SHOULD MIND THEIR OWN AMERICAN BUSINESS, WITHIN THEIR OWN AMERICAN TERRITORY, WITH THEIR OWN AMERICAN PEOPLE AND SO ON...
4. hizballah
Hashim Ali ,   Kut , Iraq   (01.30.12)
To #2, the answer to your question is resounding no ,Hozballah lost its legitimacy in Lebanon since Israeli withdrawal . Now the role it plays is simply a beach head for Iranian ambition , once the Syrian client regime falls Hizballah will be exposed .The majority of Lebanese people donot didnot like Syrian occupation and hate even more the " forced" relationship with Iran .
5. Obama is doing to ME what Carter did to Shah in 79

Same tactics eg Mubarak, Khaddafi. Now Assad I just hope end result isnt same as Iran theocracy and murderocracy
6. flawed judgement
marcel   (01.31.12)
iran holds its surrogates tightly and supports them to the hilt- we are talking about hamas and hezbollah and syria. If syria falls, it is exposed and kameinei and ahamadinejad do not want their files to be exposed as their deeds will demand immediate execution. Ehud barak says assad willl be gone in weeks. That is a rushed judgement as assad with hezbollah and basigi assistance can suppress this revolt by kiling 25 000 people. and he is on his way. And russian does not want to lose its mediteranean arms purchaser. Assad may well hold onto power. tomorrow is the likud primary. One way to replace barak is to vote for feiglin. Yaalon will replace him on the first and second day. Bibi is not able to withstand EU, American and political pressures and willl not advance a postive forward israeli position. Not only feiglin, but kedar, gallant, eitam who has a score to settle with hamas and their leaders better flee, katzeleh and orlev will join the governement. Giving up judea and samaria is madness.
7. Assad will not give up while supported by Russia, Iran,China
Joe ,   Canada   (01.31.12)
Assad mafia family clan would have run to safer ground such as in Iran long ago if it was not sure of unbreakable military, political, economic & diplomatic support from powerful rogue states who have deep interests in keeping the regime alive. No UN resolution (if one can avoid the veto of Syria`s friends at the Security council) is to change the course of Assad's murderous repression on its citizens who so far did not get the outside help of the same order as the protestors of Libya revolting against Gaddafi. For this shameful support, Russia got Caspian Sea oil exploration priviledges from Iran & habour facilities for its navy in Syrian harbours. Not to mention weapon sales to both countries, China`s main government owned oil company is the operator of the modest Syrian oil fields & China is the main importer of Iranian oil. Assad would only bend down to a UN resolution if he were to completely breakdown the revolt & was sure to keep his hold on Syria. He knows that aside of Saudi Arabia covert help to the uprising, other countries in the West are no more eager to start a war with Syria as they are with Iran for fear of the economic, home politics & security consequences of a new conflict after, Irak, Afghanistan & Libya. Assad's fall is inevitable but not in the short term unless a more forceful outside military help comes to the revolt. He has had over 5000 Syrians killed in almost a year. But his father`s past claim to over 20 000 victims in a much shorter time just shows how far the current regime can go to remain in undisputed power.
8. sadly its true
zionist forever   (01.31.12)
Assad is scum but he kept order and we knew how he worked and could prepare for that. Once he goes we may have a radical Muslim Brotherhood government or even Hezbollah. There might be a civil war and we might even get an elected government but one thats not as pro west as everybody thinks an elected government will be. Almost certainly after he is gone the world will be demanding Israel give the Golan in the name of peace and to give a boost to the elected government and Israel's left will be more than happy to agree. Everybody ignores though not only the conventional military threat but the fact there are 500,000 palestinians living in Syria in camps and without the order Assad keeps they are ripe for recruit by Hamas and we may find ourselves with another Gaza and this time if we respond with force it will be declaring an act of war against Syria itself. The region would be more stable with Assad than without & we should not assume because he is gone the Hezbollah threat will go away either. Hezbollah are recruited and armed by Iran not Syria and toppling Assad doesn't mean regime change in Iran.
9. Syria has lost control? What is Israel waiting for?
Alexander ,   Tel Aviv, Israel   (01.31.12)
Perfect opportunity to strike Syria and take out ALL its military capabilities INCLUDING its missiles. Why is Israel so damn soft on the Arabs? Show the Arab states no mercy and no pardon. Strike them when they are about to fall - the heavier the damage and the more deadly will IDF's strike be. That is more constructive than raising "settlements" in Judea and Samaria. Because the first action will strenghten Israel whereas the second action weakens Israel. Barak the clown must leave the government and be tried for high treason. Israel is in danger as long as Barak the clown is in the government.

What a fantastic world the puppeted politicians of America live in. Fabricating intel to convince themselves their lies are true.
