1. THEY AINT SO DUMB
TEL DA TRUTH ,   SOMEWHEREVILLE USA   (01.31.12)
Not so stupid.
2. Good for them
Avi ,   Tel-Aviv   (01.31.12)
Good for them, if they feel and are safe and happy, then they should stay.
3. Why Would Sephardic Jews Want To Move To Israel?
World Citizen ,   the world   (01.31.12)
They would only be treated as second class citizens by the Ashkenazim. Now the Israeli Mossad could do what they did in Iraq in the early 1950s. They could go in and blow up some of the synagogues or Jewish owned businesses and start a panic. That would do the trick.
4. tunisian jews
dr daniel mostrel ,   paris france   (01.31.12)
most of tunisain jews left tunisia in the early sixties after Bizerte happening; the remaining left after the six day war ; jews in tunisia were mostly french or european , partly tunisian citizens; now they are dhimmis
5. Wow. Chutzpin. They should STAY in Tunisia.
EZRA THE PROUD JEW ,   USA-ISRAEL   (01.31.12)
No one TOLD them they HAD to leave! They were in danger for a bit of time. They were told they had a home to go to, that's all! But with responses like this? Who'd want them to be in our country. They choose Tunisia with such passion where they are chutzpin and so arrogant about it? Fine. No thanks to the extended hand of Ahavat Yisrael? They'd rather live in galut among people who hate them. So be it. Sounds like they've fully integrated into Tunisian society. I'd like to believe its never too late...but in this case? They've left the tribe. Tunisia can keep them.
6. Tunisian Jewish leader says no to aliyah
David ,   Montreal, Canada   (01.31.12)
to #5 and Shalom, Have you thought about the fact that there is no freedom of speach or true safety for them? and what kind of respond you expect from 1500 jews in an islamic country? .....life is not always the way you think.
7. 3. u r brain is a maze of absurd styreo types
(01.31.12)
8. Kol Hakavod!
Cynic #2   (01.31.12)
They belong to Tunisia, they were born in Tunisia, their ancestors lived in Tunisia and they are at home in Tunisia. I think Iraqi Jews feel Iraqi in spite of the mess that Iraq is in at the moment. And the same goes for Palestinian Jews and Moroccan Jews and Egyptian Jews and Oriental Jews at large. Ask Naim Giladi what he thinks!
9. Boycott LeLouche's Restaurant
LeLoucheKosher??? ,   Jerusalem   (01.31.12)
If Le Louche represents the mindset of the Jews of Tunisia who thinks Israelis are stupid then we should not worry too much about there fate and certainly not visit their community or patronize their businesses lets not be twice "stupid"
10. Good. Stay put !
Nobody moves !   (01.31.12)
11. Really?
Ed ,   US   (01.31.12)
If I were a Tunisian Jew worried about the government and my neighbors, the last thing I'd want to do is let these people know I was worried about them.
12. #1#2#3 same person
(01.31.12)
13. I hope Israel will be smart enough not
jason white ,   afula, israel   (01.31.12)
to accept them under any conditions. They want to stay, then no matter how bad it gets for them we do not need them here.
14. Hypersensitive
Claire ,   Tunis, Tunisia   (01.31.12)
I think some of these comments about Jacob Lelouche are a bit over the top. He's not calling anyone stupid. He's saying the idea of immigrating to another country is stupid. He and the Jews who are staying here are showing they're not scared of the political changes.
15. They've every right to make their own choice
vernonmarriott ,   Israel   (01.31.12)
They're free people and can make their choice as they choose. I've been to Tunisia and met with many Tunisian Jews. They're proud and open (one Jewish owned store even had "Baruch Haba" - welcome in the front window). They have a strong sense of Jewish identity and their religion - which isn't really the case in Israel.
16. #3 world - careful.
solomon ,   bklyn   (01.31.12)
Your total ignorance and hatred is showing again. Careful. If you write these ridiculous posts too many times we may wind up not believing you.
17. Many German Jews said the same thing when they were warned
Mark ,   Ohio   (01.31.12)
about Hitler. We know how that ended.
18. You need to understand something
Yossef   (01.31.12)
we Sephardic Jews are home all around the Mediterranean Sea. That's simple, like Arabs, without any complex.
19. I wish them all well, but....
Oleg ,   USA   (01.31.12)
I think, those guys do not understand History lessons. Germany and Hitler in power, should be an example. I only can hope, that Tunis won't become the same. But looking at arabs hate toward Jews makes me think, that those guys are doing a huge mistake. Hope I am wrong.
20. According to Islamic rule Jews are infidel
E.M Jordan is Pales ,   SF   (01.31.12)
And infidel do not have right to live in Muslim nation in future they will kick out the rest of Jews who are living in Muslim nation but it was wrong policy by silver shalom I believe the Israeli politician by rising their voice should not interfere and put in danger the life those jaws whom are living in Muslim nations it is better give them time and themselves will know how to manage to sell their properties and patiently will leave.
21. According to Jewish rules, they are Muslims
Yehuda   (01.31.12)
Genuine Muslims who absorbed the Arab culture generations ago. Mizrahim in plain Hebrew.
22. Foolish to believe Jews in Tunisia can speak freely!
t f ,   herzliya il   (01.31.12)
23. @3 Duh! cuz Israel only place in ME Jews FREE & SAFE!
t f ,   herzliya il   (01.31.12)
24. Self-haters!
Cheryl ,   Chicago, IL   (01.31.12)
Let them stay in Islamic Tunisia if they don't believe in a Jewish homeland. Let's see how "nice" the Muslims treat these Jewish patriots of Tunisia.
25. #17
Cheryl ,   Chicago USA   (01.31.12)
YEAH!
26. Its often hard for folks
meghan ,   israel   (01.31.12)
to uproot when they get to a certain age. I wish them well and hope their faith in their safety will be just that , safe. I suppose we could understand them more if they lved in the USA, UK or any other non moslem country, for not making Aliyah, but no one can make discissions for others.
27. Good for them and good for us
Noa ,   Israel   (01.31.12)
It is better for Israel to have friends and family in other countries, too. And if they feel safe and free there, even better!
28. Tunisian Jews
Fidel ,   Ghana   (01.31.12)
Jacoa Lelouche, ur are not the first Jew who prefered Egypt to the promised land.U will soön discover to ur own perdition that u have made worst choice in eternity.
29. HELL NO WE WON'T GO
MR. TUNIS ,   TUNIS OF COURSE   (01.31.12)
30. REMINDS ME
fred ,   US   (01.31.12)
