31. Israel refuses to assert its soverignty over Jewish sites
BH ,   Iowa   (02.06.12)
so its no surprise others will try to steal them. The government tasked with protecting Jewish heritage sites has tried to hand them over several times. Don't want your heritage sites stolen? Claim and defend them.
32. simple answer is seize all jewish sites
Bernard Ross ,   st anns bay, jamaica   (02.06.12)
but then jewish traitors will not do this
33. The UN is a morally corrupt organization. End the farce.

34. #10 - they're "Palestinian" by default not by culture
William ,   Israel   (02.06.12)
Bethlehem was never a "Palestinian" city but rather a Byzantine Christian one that was sacked and occupied by Arabs since 7th century. In the 19th century, it was considered an Ottoman city, now it's "Palestinian" by default but certainly not by culture. Same with Hebron, which I assume you meant instead of citing Bethlehem twice. Hebron was always Jewish and considered the 2nd holiest site in Judaism. It was the Turks who forbade Jews to pray there. "Palestinians" want to return to this same apartheid situation which is against Intl law. If you meant Jericho, well this is sort of Jewish too. That is, it was founded by Jews with a deep history there for centuries and usurped by Arabs. Claiming these sites are "Palestinian" even though their culture, religion, and language are different than those who founded the city and the artifacts found there, is akin to cultural genocide and no different than Iran winning a war against Saudi Arabia and then claiming Medina as their Heritage Site. Out of the entire coastline of the Dead Sea, about 15% is in disputed "Palestinian" areas so they really have no right to make the claim - when Israel and Jordan both have the lion's share AND have made positive advancements to create a tourism industry and efforts to save it from exploitation.
35. Fed up , 26
Charles ,   Petach Tikva   (02.06.12)
If i follow your "logic" we should also give up Petach Tikva , Yafo , Haifa , Beer Sheva , Arad , and so on . In short : give up the whole country . And what about Yeroushalaim "intra muros" ? the Old city ? Also give up ? Arabs came always to the new town . Banks , health care , shopping , and so on . Some racists [ not better as the nazis ] will expell them , all of them , in the same way Jews were expelled from their homes in nazi germany , Not everyone is as hatefull .
36. #15 - and the Jewish areas in Damascus...
William ,   Israel   (02.06.12)
and Medina are also Jewish World Heritage sites. When can we claim them at UNESCO? By the way, Jaffa was created as a Canaanite port (not to be confused with "Palestinian"), then a Roman port, then a Byzantine port, then an Ottoman port....then finally....an Israeli port. Besides some Arabs that live there under different jurisdictions, the culture and infrastructure there were clearly non-Arab. If Arabs can claim sites simply by living their currently, when will they be able to claim World Heritage places in India and Europe as their own?
37. #19 - they're Israeli, and before that Byzantine
William ,   Israel   (02.06.12)
yet, no proof of rule or culture of "Palestinians" as all of these cities were created centuries before the birth of your "people" in 1964. That kind of negates your claim on the rest of the spots too, I'm afraid.
38. #26 - wait until they start claiming it as a "Palestinian"
William ,   Israel   (02.06.12)
heritage site.
39. why?
Rita ,   TelAviv   (02.07.12)
the question here is not why do the Palestiniand do it, but why didn't Israel do it a long time ago on behalf if ISRAEL?
