PETER SM ,   AUSTRALIA   (02.06.12)
Looking after his cronies bank accounts and paying terrorists a wage. For his sake he had better have his life insurance up to date, the last time they split up Hamas went on a killing spree The erzats human rightists did not notice
3. I'm not sure which is funnier
Sarah B ,   U.S.A. / Israel   (02.06.12)
"Unity" or "government." I am, however, pretty sure of the ridiculous concept of ersatz "Palestinian."
4. Mashaal
Sammy ,   Newcastle   (02.06.12)
What does Pretty Boy Mashaal want? He would sell his soul and the Palestinian Nation down the river for a Meal Ticket and somewhere he can live his lavish lifestyle Well all I can say is that hes been out of the West Bank East Palestine for too long! Nobody likes him, nobody trusts him and above all NOBODY respects him And just where is he going to get his hair coiffered and his suits made and his cash banked?
5. I certainly expect this to go well.
Gideon Reader   (02.06.12)
As well as ALL of the other reconciliation, cum reunifications, reorganizations that these sheep shaggers can and have previously managed. I expect that all of the mutual back patting is merely the honest seeking of a proper placement for the daggers each faction hold for each other. And THAT boys and girls, is a GOOD thing.
6. Such government may or may not materialize of course. But,..
Jehudah Ben-Israel ,   Qatzrin, Israel   (02.06.12)
...if it does, it will mean that of the two main bodies in it Hamas, the internationally designated Islamist terror group, will be one. And, since Hamas is still to meet the UN, EU, US and Russia's demand that it 1) Accept Israel's right to exist, 2) Cease all acts of terror and violence against Israel and Israelis, and, 3) Adhere to all agreements between the Palestine Liberation Organization (PLO) and Israel and signed by the parties, it is impossible to see this government being engaged in any peace process with Israel. Indeed, it is impossible to see how the international community would deal with the PLO's Palestinian Authority, unless the same cynicism applied to the Syrian situation will be applied here...!!
7. #6 It's a technocrat government not unity govt .
Nour ,   One state   (02.06.12)
That means neither Hamas nor Fatah officials will be part of this government, whose sole function is to organise free and fair elections. Cappice?
8. The 'good thing is......
tiki ,   belgium   (02.06.12)
This cooperation is hopefully the final nail on the coffin of the already dead Peace Proces but that nobody wanted to bury. The 'bad thing is...., It won't last very long and than the whole Peace Proces theater starts all over again.
9. One step closer to all-out war!
Jake Stone ,   USA   (02.06.12)
10. An agreement between two nonentities.
Ian ,   Newcastle upon Tyne   (02.06.12)
Does anybody really think that an agreement between Abbas and Mashaal is going to dislodge Haniyeh and his terrorist Hamas clique from their grip on the Gaza Strip? And quietly flows the Don. THREE CHEERS FOR ISRAEL!!!
11. A joke! Will Hamas army follow his orders?
PETER SM ,   AUSTRALIA   (02.07.12)
