1. I'm confused
Sid ,   NY US   (02.07.12)
Do you mean to tell me that Israel is strengthening its border against infiltrators FROM Egypt? I thought all those people wanted to LEAVE Israel, that horrid country, to GO TO Egypt, that paradise on earth dedicated to the glorification of the human spirit. Jeez, why would people want to go to Israel? You mean the ayatollahs aren't right when they call Israel a cancer? Or maybe I'm wrong and people WANT cancer.
2. I would hope..
Steve ,   USA   (02.07.12)
I would hope that the IDF has contingency plans in place to counter any Egyptian 'military' operations should they occur given the unstable situation there (in Egypt). I imagine that aerial imagery Intel would give the IDF enough time to mobilize against any military incursions (including surprise attacks) and that armored units are in close enough proximity with adequate numbers to counter any aggressive moves. The Yom Kippur War is still very fresh in my mind. Unlike then, this time there is no Sinai buffer zone.
3. Fence with sophisticated weapons systems

In the Peace Treaty, Israel agreed to limit its forces to a distance of 3 km from the Egyptian border, and to guarantee free passage between Egypt and Jordan. Further, limited military forces not to exceed four infantry battalions. What Israel is going to lose is freedom of passage through the Suez Canal and Straits of Tiran.
4. The soon fulfillment...
Taz Man ,   USA   (02.07.12)
...of God's word (of war), as prophesied in Psalm 83 and Obadiah 15, shows Israel will soon own parts of Egypt. God's word is faithful and true. God bless, Israel and His Jerusalem! A Christian Zionist

Israel is, as always, sticking to the terms of the Egypy-Israel peace treaty which clearly states that in Area D Israel can construct "military installations and fortifications" (e.g. fence) and maintain up to 4 infantry battalions of up to 4,000 soldiers. The new deployment (and fence) are within these peace treaty conditions. As to free passage between Egypt and Jordan... this has not been effected.
7. #3 you are right
israel israeli ,   tel aviv   (02.07.12)
The Camp David accords have proven a disaster for both Israel and Egypt. The only way to guarantee peace, prevent the loss of life, and give Egyptians hope for the future is to transfer all of Sinai back to its rightful owner Israel and withdraw all Egyptian forces and colonists to West of the Suez Canal. Israel will develop Sinai, help the indigenous Bedouin and stop the anarchy that is threatening both Israel and Egypt.
8. #7 - nicely worded
Steve ,   Tel Aviv   (02.07.12)
It is clear that the Muslim Brotherhood, the new regime in Egypt has no interest in maintaining the peace agreement with Israel. Turkey was once are friends and we helped their Military are now very hostile to us and even made threats. We should be concern about future land for peace agreements with other Arab countries/entities. They are always "one spring away" from more hostile Islamic regime that hates Israel.
9. People this is about keeping the Sudanese out!
(02.07.12)
We have more than enough foreign workers, don't need any more and so FINALLY Israel is taking the matter into proper perspective and control.
10. God

You who believe in myths may die by the myths. You who believe that a certain group of persons is "chosen" to be "special," will be singled out by the rest of the world (perhaps that is what you want). No country can exist for long that is only for one race/ethnic/religious group. Who will trade with you down the line? Assimilation is the only path forward.
11. #7,8 but, Egypt never agrees to swap Sinai for Israel
