Listening to the rhetoric coming from Iran it seems very hard to imagine Israel sitting back and letting events unfold. China and Russia may lean on Iran to behave perhaps, but nobody can expect Israel to be 'wiped off the face of the earth' or whatever the expression was without serious resistance. It may be small, but I wouldn't fancy the job of giving Israel a kicking. I pray there is never a major conflict but woe betide those who underestimate Israeli resolve and courage. I don't see anybody. The German government is implicitly accepting that Iran might get the bomb by selling subs to Israel which can maintain deterrence. My guess is the German public and most other Europeans would perceive any strike on Iran as nuclear attack, because bombing nuclear facilities leads to radioactive fallout. This and all the other security and economic consequences of war with Iran will not trigger solidarity.

The entire scenario was written of by the Hebrew prophets thousands of years ago. It is encompassed in Ezekiel chapters 38 & 39. Another episode is encompassed in Psalm 83. Basically are you nuts? Do you really think that Russia or China are going to get involved to save Iran? For what?
