1. Zero percent of Americans understand
spyguy ,   Seattle USA   (02.10.12)
the consequences of any attack on Iran, since most Americans have no recent combat experience. Once the attack happens and the results drastically hit every American household, they will change their tune real quick. Israel should NOT use this nebulous poll to attack Iran because you will NOT like the terrible (for you) results.
2. Another poll showed that 78% of ...
Chris.B ,   Australia   (02.10.12)
Americans brainwashed by pro Israel media think Iran is part of Africa,Angela Merkel is the antichrist and tripping on magic mushrooms for 40 years is good for your health.
3. Someone should inform Santorum....
Persian CAT   (02.10.12)
the Iran's nuclear program IS open to IAEA inspection and monitoring. It's Israeli sites that are not. Rick Santorum has a snowball's chance in hell to be the US president EVER.
4. Don't think twice...just GO FOR IT!!!!!!!!!!!!
Chris Rettenmoser ,   Bayerisch Gmain Germ   (02.10.12)
5. to 3
Arctodus Simus ,   Fort Yukon-Alaska   (02.10.12)
Santorum and a large majority of the American people remembers all the Iranian terrorists attacks since 1979, who killed in addition more Americans citizens than the 911. Time has come now for payback, and believe me, it will be very very costly to your country. We have a saying here about that: Don't poke the bear !
6. #1 - Do you have this experience?

in the US. Mind you, I live in the United States and have been exposed to all our major networks. I don't mean to be rude, but why do so many Australians on this site claim to know the American mindset?
8. #3 - Not that I like Santorum, but I'm pretty sure the
Henry from New York ,   USA   (02.10.12)
Iranian nuclear program isn't really open. Wasn't there that really crucial site that the inspectors were barred from?
9. BS- Americans won't support any war for Israel
Jo ,   USA   (02.10.12)
This poll (who knows how/where it was done) is related to Congress which is 100% controlled by Jewish lobby. From the thousands of people whom I know, not a single one of them supports war with Iran under any circumstances.
10. Sounds like half of Americans are senile
Brad ,   New York City, USA   (02.10.12)
and forgot what just happened with Iraq. A total lie and a total waste.
11. Missed opportunities
Observer ,   New York, US   (02.10.12)
American are failed to understand their enemies until they are forced to act, at which point, the loss is greater. Google bill clinton osama bin laden and you will see that if President Clinton had the brain, the philosopy and the guts, many lives and money would have been saved. Iran has many sleeping cells in the US, south america and around the world waiting for the right moment to attack US. US can be proactive about this threat or be reactive... there is more damage and risk in waiting...
12. #2 Thanks for your words of wisdom

Israel never threaten to wipe any country. Your bearded fanatik ayatullah imah ismom have made threat to wipe ISRAEL & the JEWS. That is the difference
14. only 20%, for an invasion !!!
inconito ,   france   (02.10.12)
49% support an air attack, but only 20%, for an invasion. air attack is ineffective to stop nukes in iran
15. support an attack once, but not a second time
inconito   (02.10.12)
they will support an attack once, but not a second time, when the price of gasoline at the pomple, will explodes, and jobs in freefall!

alsky ,   toronto   (02.10.12)
some of us dont really want another Holocaust. There are no good options. The west/Israel must attack Iran by summer
17. Headline and article misrepresent poll question (and answer)
Marsha ,   Miami   (02.10.12)
The question asked by The Hill poll was "Should US Be Willing to Use Military Force to Prevent Iran from Getting Nuclear Weapons?" This is a very different question than "Do you favor using military force?" as the headline puts it?" Even "Do you think military force SHOULD be used...?" distorts somewhat the question asked by the poll.
18. #3 Persian Cat.
Bergkamp   (02.10.12)
That´s because Iran IS signatory of the TNP and Israel is NOT. Either Iran relinquishes her military nuclear program and her stated goal of destroying Israel or face the consequences. Simple as that.
19. OK, here's the problem...
manicdrummer ,   Galilee, Israel   (02.10.12)
The US doesn't want to attack Iran over its quest for nukes for Israel's sake, yet the US would go ballistic if Israel attacked Iran themselves. All this from a country that loves war to a country that is always under threat of attack, nuclear or otherwise.
20. The Waffen SS Are The Rev Guards
Noah Lev ,   LosangelesUSA   (02.10.12)
We recall the 1m man march in Washington D. C. a few years ago, with many black groups participatingt. They were for black advancement, rights and opportunity. I favor a 10m man march, including Jews of all streams, Evangelicals, other denominations..to Washtington D. C. to stop the Islamic caliphate spread, Iranian hegemony, the Muslim Brotherhoods take over of the M.E. in spurts, and of course any sedition within our country. Just as the There are Guardian Angels in NYCity and elsewhere..to protect our citizens from street attacks, we must have a similar force (but with millions of patriots) to guard against the 40,000 suicide bombers that Iran says it will unleash. Re: Israel, it must institute a MAD policy...and, like the US, have a 1st strike readiness. Why wait for Iran to hit Tel aviv with its nukes? We must act, and act now. Ahmad is another Hitler, and his Guards are like the WaffenSS dividisions. The thugs on the street are like the German SA and SD. Its that easy to understand.
21. 5 Carrier Groups Needed Now
Noah Lev ,   LosAngelesUSA   (02.10.12)
Iran has 10m in its military, including all sectors. It has a huge navy fleet, variou missiles ( Shihabs) with 5,000 mile ranges, and a huge airforce and cruise type weapons. Syria has nothing to match, yet has 500,000 plus in its military plus 500,000 reservists. The US, EU, UN, NATO, are loath to attack it NOW, before it has nukes. While Obama is Pres. dont hold your breath. I am against Israel taking on the worlds responsibiity..and suffering massive retaliation (Iran says 9 minutes needed to destroy Israel, with operatives worldwide. This, like Hitlers Reich is NOT a Jewish problem per se, but we will suffer the most. Expect dirty bombs to go off in "Jewish" neighborhoods all over the planet. No one will be exempt. Obama however is right..re: the sanctionts. but ASAP. (Target it oil producers and central bank). Some in Iran will have to suffer before Ahmad, the mullah and the Guards get the message. I favor 3 more carrier fleets in the Gulf..and tactical nukies aimed at Iran, if need be. B ut unlike Iraq/Afghan..win it and win it fast. 14M Jews and millins of Christians must be alert to Iranian surrogages and operatives. I favor a large independent military in the USA..to defend againt this type of warfare.
22. 51% of Americans OPPOSE Iran strike...
(02.10.12)
23. Serious problems with "survey"
Li ,   USA   (02.10.12)
Pulse Opinion Surveys is a contract poller. You tell them what to poll, pay them the fee, and they poll. The problem here is that there are variables that would need to be included in this poll to make the numbers meaningful, including education level, geographic location etc. Polls like that are not done to even the barest minimum of standards. The data is meaningless.
24. One Percent
Mark of Lewiston ,   Lewiston, USA   (02.10.12)
One percent of US families has a member in the military. The one percent understand what war means. The rest are spectators who have been sold the cake walk theory and are gullible enough to believe it. And the 99% has not been told what they will have to pay for a new war since the credit card is not available. When Congress starts to debate the "Authorization of use of force" resolution and how to pay for a new war under the new Republican pay-for rules, public opinion will likely change. But it will assure Obama's reelection. Americans don't toss a running President in time of war. Check the history.
25. #9 - Excellent initiative!
Henry from New York ,   USA   (02.10.12)
It takes another kind of person to ask each and every one of the thousands of people they know about how they feel on a certain issue.
26. @spyguy
nachem ,   usa   (02.10.12)
and the "results" of a nuclear iran are more palatable? more liberal drivel.
27. that figure seems to high to be reliable
zionist forever   (02.10.12)
No matter what public opinion I think in December Obama will attack Iran. He has the election out the way and if he wins he doesn't have to worry about political backlash if anything goes wrong because he in not running again in 2016. If he loses the election and anything goes wrong he will be more than happy to let the Republican president pick up the pieces. So after the election but before the next president is sworn in is December. It also makes sense for the US to do it because they have the hardware to destroy the entire nuclear program & hopefully some missile sites to limit retaliation. The US will be dragged into it anyway if Israel attacks so let the US start it and finish it doing the job properly. Who knows in December Obama might acting presidential for the first time since taking office.
28. 3 persian cat
alsky ,   Toronto   (02.10.12)
you are funny. Maybe you trust your own people but I dont (and most in the west do not either). Furthermore, Israel doesnt go threatening to wipe nations and people from the earth, whereas Ahmadinajad does. Time is up for the mad Mullahs of Iran!

Birds of a feather flock together. You can know a person by who they associate with. And I thought Dodo birds were extinct...silly me.
