32. contemporary counterfeit passport measures make it
Miron ,   USA   (02.12.12)
very difficult if not impossible to use someone else's passport. Particularly with hostile in White House with entire array of spying and tracking technology at his disposal watching movement of every mice on our planet.
33. #25 - Do any of your posts not involve violence?
Henry from New York ,   USA   (02.12.12)

36. Passports
max merbaum ,   Los Angeles   (02.12.12)
The Times apparently doesn't realize that spies don't use their own actual passports. They should read a Le Carre novel. They should start with "The Spy Who Came in from the Cold But Then Got Caught Because He's an Idiot and Used His Own Passport".
37. To 1 and simmilar.
sasha ,   bilbao, basque   (02.12.12)
a. The Passport ain't yours, it is the property of 'er Magesty the queen ( or the republic etc) and you are commiting a crime surrending your passport even to a friendly int. agency. b. You might get into a big big trouble. c. never trust any int. agency, especially, the friendly one, they are not police and operate extra-judicially. They may even dispose of you literally. d. In Israeli army there is a saying: the suckers never die, they just come and go. ( Ha frayerin lo metim, hem rak mit-khal-fim) Not very clever of you to surrender your passport to a friendly and sexy woman.
38. seems the Mossad agent that used Matthews
meghan ,   israel   (02.12.12)
passport was very like him in looks! ...passports do have photos of the carrier... Don't all secret services do this? some dont even ask, i bet. Nice to see so many volunteering .
39. Sunday Times has vendetta for Vanunu
yahudi londonistan   (02.12.12)
40. That, and much more!
Yakov ,   Tel Aviv   (02.12.12)
I am a proud Israeli. I have only the greatest respect, for those who place their lives on the line, every day. I think most of us believe similarly, and would be proud to be of support. In the face of constant genocidal threats, borrowing a passport seems minimal.
41. Sure they can have mine too!
Ze'ev ,   Nbg, germany   (02.12.12)
They defend Israel, they need our support, they will get it, when they need.
42. British Mathew & French Peter
tiki ,   belgium   (02.12.12)
Tell their 'stories to the Times. Funny how these 'revealing stories from the Times & other newspapers never succeed it finding MI5 or other home grown 'spies & stories in their own back yard, but ONLY in the Mossad in far away Israel. Then they wonder why nobody takes journalists serious anymore.
43. assports should be unnecessary,anyway
Ian ,   Newcastle upon Tyne   (02.12.12)
Until WW1 passports were completely unnecessary;you could wander the world without one.Britain only enforced them in wartime to exclude foreign agents but retained them in peacetime to maintain control over who entered the country, including European Jews. It's disgraceful that people are STILL put to this inconvenience by control-freak governments and if some put them to a purpose of their own choosing, good for them. THREE CHEERS FOR ISRAEL!!!
44. The Times tries to peddle this story again?
Laura J. ,   USA   (02.12.12)
Where's the article and who wrote it? UM? What's the "evidence." Two anonymous sources telling a totally implausible story that just happens to fit in with the Times' obsession with this passport business? That's "news?"
45. #37 - The man from Euskara is correct.
Henry from New York ,   USA   (02.12.12)
46. an anonymous source told me ...
dan kaplan ,   usa   (02.12.12)
... that churchill stole roosevelt's passport in 1943 (roosevelt being handicapped could not chase him to retrieve it) and used it to make secret trips to ... i'm not at liberty to reveal the locations. this source also told me where the best kosher felafel in tel aviv could be eaten. i can tell you this ... the source was one of the 72 virgins.
47. Mossad use of UK passports
Martin ,   London UK   (02.12.12)
I think your talkback correspondence don't realise that this can be serious for the person whose identity has been taken. In the case of those whose identity was taken and used in the assassination of the terrorist leader in Dubai 2 years ago (no consent was obtained for this), they could have been at risk from counter measures by the terrorist groups if it hadn't been revealed that these identities were false - especially when these individuals travelled outside Israel.
48. I am using a German passport
Yael Schlichting ,   Raubling - Germany   (02.12.12)
Give me an Israeli passport and I will give you my German Passport in return.
49. Too funny! and what'ja think other secret services do?
Yopai not Mapai   (02.12.12)
50. to #33 Shut up and leave this to us Israelis!
jason white ,   afula, israel   (02.12.12)
You know the ones that live here and served in the I.D.F. You just sit back in N.Y. and let us handle things. I really like these "experts" that maybe visited here once or twice and know more than we do. The only way to stop these terrorists and anti Semites is with violence.Or do you want us to let them destroy us?
51. Canadian passport available. Call me.
oigevalt ,   Canada   (02.12.12)
52. #50 - Calm down, lol. You really need to control that temper
Henry from New York ,   USA   (02.12.12)
You also didn't answer my question about violent posts. These angry replies simply won't do, no sir.
53. I don't believe them
Yossef   (02.12.12)
54. #50 and you could learn Hebrew and really help out, Jason...
(02.12.12)
55. #50 - Oh, just so you know.
Henry from New York ,   USA   (02.13.12)
The Tel Megiddo Expedition is coming to your area (Ramat haSharon specifically) for about seven weeks this summer. Given the number of people and the time, I'd say we're going to collectively spend between 300.000 - 500.000 USD (it's a lot of excavators). Afula is that small town nearby and lots of us head there as well as stay on the kibbutz. No need to thank us for the extra cash in the local economy. :3
56. Israel does exactly what everybody has been doing for ages!
(02.13.12)
This is the nature of covert activity. Hypocrisy will only expose the hypocrite: France, UK, Germany, US, Russia and ALL THE MUSLIM COUNTRIES. Not one of them has any higher moral ground too reach to Israel on how to conduct itself in the spy world. NOT ONE OF THEM!
57. #37 well, I'd never trust a "basque" named "Sasha"
(02.13.12)
58. 40
Rosie   (02.13.12)
ditto
59. Times is recycling "news". Newest scoop: sun generates light
(02.13.12)
60. @ no 1 Passports
Michael cohen ,   london England   (02.13.12)
If they need your passport and you want to give it to them that is your buisness however i expect you would be breaking the law by allowing your passport to be abused.but in this case we are talking about people having there passports stolen for unlawfull practice without there say so
