This, of course, comes after a decade of recommending high protein and high fat diets because carbohydrates cause "carb addiction." The fact that the theories vary so wildly is a sure sign that the science of weight loss is poorly understood. Now wait one turn for the inevitable comment "just eat less and exercise more." To which I should say, "Thanks, Einstein."

But what the heck is a ghrelin hormone? Does the author even know? It is usually best to give an explanation of such obscure things.

5. Another tip for losing weight:
Barbara ,   Haifa Israel   (02.18.12)
Check your thyroid hormone levels. Some people (and i mean some) have imbalanced thyroid levels and need a pill to balance it out. Also some of the pills do not work - as in my case. First pill I gained 10 kilos - changed it for another reason and lost 10 kilos. No diet, no special exercise.
6. Oh the suffering
moriah ,   sacramento usa   (02.21.12)
After the 16th week I forced myself to remain on my diet with a double chocolate/ coffee ice cream cake. It was all I could do to maintain my new established eating habits. So I bolstered my self confidence and plunged into my sachar torte. The sacrifice is enormous but I am only thinking of my health ;-)
7. Lose not loose
Richard Mahony ,   Cairns   (06.30.12)
'At this point, the second group continued to loose weight while the first group, deprived of carbs, showed some weight gain.' ~ ynet In this context, the correct English is 'lose' not 'loose'.
