1. I wonder what possible explanation the trucker could have
Henry from New York ,   USA   (02.16.12)
for this. How much force does it take to capsize a bus like that?
2. Arabs Drive like maniacs
(02.16.12)
And if you think I am wrong and Racist, then dont take my word for it. Come out to Rt. 60 and see for yourself. Double passing on a solid while line, blind curve is not unheard of.
3. Area with no control
Samer ,   Ramallah   (02.16.12)
I'm surprised the Israeli police came to scene!! or sent ambulances. This is the area where the Palestinians can not control and the Israelis totally ignore (but not when it comes to collecting taxes). The roads is narrow and in miserable condition, plus the crazy drivers and high traffic.. and nobody allowed to do anything about it without the Israeli permission
4. Horrible
Sarah B ,   U.S.A. / Israel   (02.16.12)
My deepest condolences to the families of those who lost their lives; my best wishes for a speedy and complete recovery to the injured.
5. Samer. children are children no matter what religion...
Donna ,   Netanya   (02.16.12)
and in any case, I would expect MDA to enter all areas in which they are not in danger to perform their sworn duty - and that is to save lives. This is a tragedy. I hope the driver is punished no matter who he is. Truckers on this side are also reckless.
6. Prayers for the survivors
Manya Shochet ,   Ma'aleh Adumim   (02.16.12)
...as well as for all the families. Too many traffic accidents in the Arab sector, too many unlicensed drivers, shocking failure to enforce third-party insurance. I hope this wakes people up to the need for better traffic enforcement and greater care on the roads. Meanwhile, prayers for the full recovery of the children, and strength to their parents to get through this terrible time,

Thank you Titzhak. I just have to agree with you. Lets look at this as huminatarian tragaedy and keep our differances aside for now.

your comments are soooooooo out of line and unnecessary.
16. Condolences to family & speedy recovery
David ,   Shiloh Israel   (02.16.12)
This is a terrible tragedy. There is an overdue need for a better road control system at that dangerous junction. My condolences to the families and wish for a speedy recovery. As a Jewish settler, I also fully agree with #9 that we can do without guttural comments. I've attended local road accident scenes and have worked with passing Arabs in trying to help the victims. One has to be out of their mind not to be concerned for innocent human victims in such tragic circumstances.
17. #9 is right
Chaya ,   Bat Yam   (02.16.12)
This is a terrible loss for their families.
18. Our thoughts and prayers are with these children

19. To: No. 3
Sarah B ,   U.S.A. / Israel   (02.16.12)
Oh, please! Stop blaming Israel. Everything that Israel did in terms of infrastructure in the areas controlled by the PA has been allowed to fall into disrepair and ruin. Do you REALLY think that Abbas and Erekat would give up their private Gulfstream jets just to fix a few roads? Well, since they have Gulfstream jets and since the roads in areas controlled by the PA have been allowed -- by that selfsame PA -- to erode, I'm guessing the answer is "No." The only reason you are surprised that Israeli police arrived at the scene and sent ambulances is because you are accustomed to the not-so-benign neglect exhibited by the PA in similar circumstances. Why can't you just express some gratitude for the prompt response of Israeli police and rescue services? Why can't you just express some thanks that the injured were transported to a REAL hospital in Israel, instead of what passes for hospitals in areas controlled by the PA? You wanted autonomy; now you have it! Don't come complaining to us because autonomy hasn't worked out all that well for the ersatz "Palestinians." You have what you wanted; deal with it.
20. #9, 13: Agreed: most all Jews & Arabs mourn this tragedy
Rafi ,   US   (02.16.12)
21. I agree with #9 but....
Moshe ,   Jerusalem   (02.16.12)
The driver of the truck was an Israeli Arab and MDA and ZAKA went to help which they would no matter if its a Jew or an Arab, lives are lives, but please can you explain why are Arabs now stoning Israeli cars for something they did not commit.
22. Ale: It was "settler" ambulances and paramedics
Judah ,   Shomron   (02.16.12)
Who were the first at the scene, who saved Arab lives, who transported Arabs to Israeli hospitals. Israeli "settler" paramedics go out on calls for Arabs every single day- mostly traffic accidents because the Arabs here drive like maniacs.
23. No politics, no nasty comments, only tearsplease
rivkah f. ,   jerusalem   (02.16.12)
Those who mix politics, sarcasm & nasty comments like no. 8 with this terrible tragedy show that they mean spirited and petty. My condolences to the families, speedy recovery to the injured, and praise to the Jews and Arabs who joined forces in the storm in order to save young lives.
24. Should Politics Always Be Part of Tragedies
Ibrahim ,   East Jerusalem   (02.16.12)
To all guys blaming or surprised that Israeli Police and Ambulances showed up. This is a human condition, you do not think if he is Palestinian or Israeli. I am a Palestinian, and if an Israeli settler car flipped infront of me and caught on fire, I will stop and go try to help. I won't think twice, we are humans, I won't think this is settler. Remember, Karmel fire, Palestinian firefighters assisted the Israelis in putting the fire off. Humanatarian issues should not involve politics. Finally, as for the road that the accident took place, I pass through that road so often. The road is not a great or good to drive on, tooo many curves, no barriers between the two lains to avoid head on collisions. It is really busy and both Israelis and Palestinians speed on it. The road asphalte is slippery and not wide enough. Both Israelis and Palestinians pass through it since it is area C, it could have been Israelis too. The road need to be fixed and made better than its current condition. Personally, I have seen last year around 9 - 12 accidents on it involving Israelis and Palestinians.
25. "Israeli and Palestinian police are collaborating" - every
leo ,   usa   (02.16.12)
cloud has silver lining.
26. Jerusalem Crash
Vicky ,   Ashkelon Israel   (02.16.12)
I send my condolences to the families of the children and wish a speedy recovery for those whom survived. This has nothing to do with Politics or our ongoing battles. It is sick to make it such.
27. RE:number 8
Eyal ,   Ramat Gan Israel   (02.16.12)
Maybe you see life in black and white, but most Israeli's do not. Our hearts go out to the injured children and the families of the dead. I trust Israeli doctors will do their best to give the best treatment possible to them. We expect no less.
28. #3 Samer you really have it wrong!
Israeli grandma   (02.16.12)
I know this road and this junction, the road is in good condition but as another writer points out, Arab driving habits are terrifying. I have seen many accidents at that spot, all involving Arab drivers - summer and winter. Even BBC's Donnision admitted that the heavy rains last night made the road difficult. Of course Israeli ambulance teams and rescue personel were on the scene, this is normal, and the PA officials couldnt have handled it with such efficiency. The local people crowded to the scene of the tragic accident, and stones were thrown on the Israeli helpers, not a good scene.
29. #12
Alan ,   New York USA   (02.16.12)
Dear Farouk, You are absolutely right! Enough is enough. This is a tragedy and should not be politicized. Let us hope that the injured can recover as best they can. They should really end the talkback feature in all online forums, unless people are required to give their full details. Alan, New York
