1. FOR ALL THE GOOD BARAK DOES
LAWRENCE OF ARABIA ,   SAFED ISRAEL   (02.16.12)
Would it have made any difference ? Barak is hardly effective these days ,although I wish him a long and healthy life.
2. Lawrence, PLEASE
David N. ,   Haifa, ISRAEL   (02.16.12)
Save us all from cynical, negative Talkback feeding frenzy attitude. It is getting very dull. Don't know if you are Israeli or foreigner, but please enough of the endless, pointless condemnation and criticism of Israel and Israelis. Constructive, kind-spirited criticism, yes absolutely. Talkback hack jobs, NO! And your town is called TZFAT, not the Arab Safed.
3. Singapore isnt a great place to try terror.Terros are in big trouble
Alan ,   SA   (02.16.12)
4. Talk about opening Pandora's box
Charles   (02.16.12)
If an attempt is actually made, whether or not successful, in the end Hizbullah would speak of it as they do of the attack that led to the Second Lebanon War - ie, hindsight is 20/20.
5. Barak Planned Assasination
Adam ,   London   (02.16.12)
Based upon whats going down this week can you imagine how this bunch of Iranian scumbags will behave with nuclear capability. Dirty bombs are their dream
6. Really?
#5 ,   US   (02.16.12)
Do you believe this crap report? come on be smarter, they want to find a reason to attack Iran ! You hate Iran yes but don't be stupid ! They can tell you tomorrow that they have a report that Iran was planning to throw missiles on Dimona and you will believe it !
7. why would they want to hurt one of their best friends?
chaim.s ,   54st brooklyn ny   (02.16.12)

Yaniv ,   Israel   (02.16.12)
9. Barak isn't worth the hassle
A ,   Belgium   (02.16.12)
Murder is NOT the way to replace a useless defense minister.
10. Funny how the world is in complete silence
David ,   Israel   (02.16.12)
The world couldn't care less for Jews or Israel. But when a pathetic disgrace for a human is assassinated in Dubai the world makes a huge noise. The second Israel responds to this and the other foiled attacks watch how much we will be condemned.
11. :)
#10 ,   US   (02.16.12)
David, it's politics you never knows what is true or not. I suggest, you stop the drama specially the part "No one cares about Jews or Israel". As i mentioned in my previous comment, tomorrow they can say anything in the media and reports and the question should we believe everything they said?
12. A must for you all to read...see the reference now
AlbertoGA ,   St. George, USA   (02.16.12)
On Barak a must to read from " DEBKA files " now on their site....OK Haverim Shalom Israel forever
13. what is going on. every paper, even arab papers have israeli
ralph   (02.16.12)
leaks, private sources of information. somebody better catch these leakers before they do more damage. worse than MI5 with all its double agents. it would appear we make them look good. or maybe just maybe all these sources claimed by uk and arab papers are made up to support their distorted, biased stories. just a thought, just a thought.
14. That's going to come back and haunt them...
Noodles ,   Coney Island   (02.16.12)
as Barak will probably be one of the main forces in orchestrating the taking out of the Iranian nuke program.
15. Singapore
sk ,   USA   (02.16.12)
If this story is true, those 3 arrested in Singapore are going to be treated very harshly. Singapore is friends with Israel but has very harsh punishments for criminals.
16. #2 you put him in his place!
Maayan ,   Rehovot   (02.16.12)
17. To: No. 6
Sarah B ,   U.S.A. / Israel   (02.16.12)
Israel doesn't need an excuse. Thirty-plus years of near daily threats by the Islamic Republic to "wipe the 'Zionist entity' from the map is more than enough to support a pre-emptive move by Israel. Why Iran has not been censured by the United Nations for threatening a sovereign state and United Nations member is inexcusable. What is beyond question is the fact that if Iran had the power to destroy Israel, they would. In a heartbeat. Or do you mean to suggest that the entire Iranian leadership are liars? And why should Israel make that assumption? Israel takes existential threats very seriously.
18. Thank you #2

19. singapore surrounded by muslims nations, just like Israel,
mary of bethany ,   singapore   (02.16.12)
Neighboring Muslim Terror group has been targeting Singapore a few times in the past, and Singapore managed to foil a good few plots. because just like Israel, Singapore is the only shinning "liberal" pro-Western culture country in the sea of pro-Islamic values countries, and Singapore is one very friendly ally to Israel among Asia. Actually to be frank, Singapore owe a great great deal to Israel during the country's building past, in areas like military training, law, techonology... ask any old timers who worked for the government force they will acknowledge it. and Singapore has a lot, i say really alot of Pro-Israel & Pro-Jews christians, many has been to Israel at least once. so if this evil plot succeed, Terror will be thrill to accomplish 2 things: one to be able to kill an very High Ranking Israelis (in midst of Israel high alert state), and secondly to be able to penetrate thru Singapore's clean record of "no bombing at all"! without the Mossad, i guess Singapore is unable to do her part too. Praise G-D for everything!
20. The best Defense Minister in Israeli history
Michael ,   California, USA   (02.16.12)
Whether the Kuwaiti report is true or not, it is shameful that so many right wingers in Israel criticize Barak. This TB is loaded with those nonsense writers. Ehud Barak is the best performing DM in the history of Israel. He improved and strengthened the IDF immensely after the Lebanon 2 war. Ehud Barak brings to his Ministerial job more experience and professionalism than any of the other Ministers. While it is true that he used a lot of hot air in his U.S. speeches when he was out of the government, he did not sell anthropological artifacts, did he? And the hot air had to do with Barak's stint as the PM, at which he was a complete failure. The lesson Israel needs to derive from Barak's stellar performance at his current post is that PROFESSIONALS need to serve as Ministers, instead of using coalition politics to fill those posts. I wish Ehud Barak many more years of fruitful service to Israel as its Defense Minister.
21. #20. You're talking about someone else
A ,   Belgium   (02.16.12)
The Barak I know snuck out of Lebanon, leaving Israels Christian allies stranded. He is willing to compromise the security of Israel for "palestinian" promises, which are in any case worthless. Actually, he has been a disaster as defense minister, luckily Israel has not been involved in any major conflicts since he has held office.
22. Barak was lucky this time, HOWEVER...
Avi ,   Israel   (02.16.12)
will he survive the next attempt?
23. No.6, oh yes indeed, I will believe everything
(02.16.12)
coming from Iran, I mean, everything wrong which is menacing Israel. Oh, yes my friend, they do mean what they say.
24. to DAVID at 10 .

You hate Israel yes, but don’t be stupid or blind. Or are you too afraid to face reality?
28. Singapore? You may try that in Dubai ;)
John Chen W. ,   Singapore   (02.17.12)
Didn't you hear: Singapore is a "fine" country. Changi is waiting, la! Shalom, and keep your vigil. You have good friends here who never forget '67!
