2. "NYPD"
AARON ,   NY   (02.19.12)
Jewish students also monitored.
3. I hate to say it, but sometimes you have to be pragmatic.
Henry from New York ,   USA   (02.19.12)
I wish it didn't have to be the case, but you do have most of the dangerous folks coming from this group. It's better to be safe than sorry as the old saying goes, and it's fortunate nothing suspicious was found. I hope one day a Muslim American can be regarded by authorities as as much of a security concern as an Irish American.
4. They monitor out West too
Ron ,   OC, US   (02.19.12)
They monitor mosques and the MSU in Irvine afer a murder at LAX and trouble with MSU members at UCI. Why we keep letting these people in, I'll never know.
5. Out of neccesity
Yakov ,   Tel Aviv   (02.19.12)
What choice does law enforcement have? Politically, it is "profiling", but honestly, this is exactly what is needed, and more significantly, what HAS been needed, all along. Islamic violence and brutality, has been all too well proven. Targeting absolute civilians, is a commonality. The "Arab League", had demonstrated its inability to inject any modicum of sanity in Syria, So, we can't expect anyone to reign in Islamic terrorism. The result? Karma! You are Muslim. Then, you are a terrorist, till proven otherwise. This is the harvest, that the Islamic world will reap, for generations.

Rick ,   Israel   (02.19.12)
Jewish students, although experience lesser hassle than the Muslims, are also being monitored. Moreover, Israelis and Jews travelling in US airports also get the same "security" burden as the Muslims do.
7. So what?
R ,   Israel   (02.19.12)
I am not, nor have I ever been, a terrorist. My bag is searched every time I enter a mall, a movie theatre, even the supermarket. When I go to the U.S., I have all my possesions searched, must take my shoes off before I get on a plane, and I've been subjected to a pat-down because I forgot to take the change from my coffee out of my pocket which set off an alarm. My mother, 80+ and confined to a wheelchair, has also been subjected to pat-downs on plane trips. This is because of a tiny percentage of a percentage of the Muslim community. If the authorities are monitoring my phone calls and joining me on raft trips, so be it. I'd rather that then risk another 9/11.

for the victimes of 9/11, if this story was published on 9/12/2001 people would praise the NYPD, but time passed, people forgot, and new yorkers think islam is their friend, the whole world is suffering because of radical islam yet some people feel if you nice to them they will change Props to nypd and the other agencies, investigate them non stop, we must try to prevent another attack by these radicals
10. #2 and #6 - Really?

I've never really noticed anything like that before. What should I be looking for if this is the case that they are monitoring Jewish students?

The FBI did when we supported the founding of the state and when they thought we were all Communists. Please remember the AIPAC case. And we were not planting bombs.

Suspicious activities all. Why wouldn't Yalies be suspects? With their secret Boolah-Boolahs. Sounds like a standard Cointelpro Operation. Or a good scam to get a free vacation.
