These stronger sanctions could have worked if they were applied 3 years ago. Now they are to close to the making of a nuclear bomb to be stopped otherwise than with a military strike. Iran is still selling plenty of oil! If anything, it's probably the Iran's government just trying to rile-up the populace for the support needed to start a war with Israel; and, when it does, all self-interest goes out the window, replaced by national pride and loyalty for the collective cause of destroying Israel. You are right Tim but as the world has proven repeatedly, it doesn't really care. otherwise Iran's nuclear facilities would have been compromised by a joint mission of US, Nato and Israel ... But everyone expects Israel to do their dirty work as it is most desperate to resolve this issue. If one would just take a map and look at the differences in size of Israel and the Muslim countries, it becomes crystal clear how dangerous this action would be. How many missals does it take to wipe out Tel Aviv? They won't bomb Jerusalem obviously ... how many can be intercepted? Thats might be the reason why Israel didn't do so yet.

Iranians have been living under these conditions forever for the past 33 years. You complain there and you will be killed. The same people that are complaining now, were the ones who threw Shah out. Now, they are crying that they want to be saved. Yah right! They will burn anyone's flag who helps them the day after. Democracy is not for everyone. most Iranians believe what the local mullah at the local mosque preaches that day. The people interviewed here are just local people from Tehran. The average Iranian from near by towns are clueless and will do anything the mullahs tell them. Of course the government will also give them a little to keep them happy. People who support the regime are totally different than the ones who don't. The supporters have guns and are willing to kill their enemies. They have huge support from the elements of the regime.
