1. He belongs to Islamic Jihad
Sarah B ,   U.S.A. / Israel   (02.22.12)
Of course he is a terrorist!
2. He is a terrorist
Rachel   (02.22.12)
I saw a video where he was calling on people to become suicide bombers, and murder people like it was a great thing. If that isn't terrorism then what is?
3. Innocent until proven guilty.
Michael ,   California, USA   (02.22.12)
He was not judged and not proven guilty for whatever reason he was detained. I guess Israeli authorities had no adequate proof. His hunger strike was a brave act. Israel is correct to admit a mistake.
4. Wrong caption as usual
m   (02.22.12)
Israel gave in to terrorist, from weakness and it will continue.
5. #3 INNOCENT UTIL PROVEN GUILTY!
Iranian Jew ,   Los Angeles   (02.22.12)
This nut case is having classes about becoming suicide bomber in the mosque. Who the hell are you defending here? Are you even an American? Get off this forum, dude. And buy a one way ticket to Syria. That is where you really want to be now. You have no clue about this subject.
6. His hunger strike could have been
jason white ,   afula,israel   (02.22.12)
avoided by hanging the POS after interrogation. When will we see a law that bans those that never served in the I.D.F. from sitting in the knesset or voting?

9. HE IS GUILTY !
Mark ,   T.a.Israel   (02.22.12)
In other democratic countries even the insinuation to. CJIHAD is considered as an act of TERRORISM ! His liberation is also an act against our SECURITY PERSONEL. ! They risked their lives to catch him and now all their sacrifices was in vain ! You have to keep up their DEDICATION to their difficult and dangerous JOB by declaring more balanced VERDICT !
10. To: No. 3
Sarah B ,   U.S.A. / Israel   (02.22.12)
He has never denied being a member of the Islamic Jihad. Go read their charter, Michael. And Eichmann (may his name be cursed throughout eternity) was nothing more than a clerk. Did you buy that one, too? You are an ass.
11. The Arab reaction
Adam H   (02.22.12)
Unfortunately in the Middle East an act of kindness is seen as a weakness and a victory over Israel.
12. 65 days of starving is winning? brain dead thinking.
Bunnie Meyer ,   Los Angeles, CA USA   (02.22.12)
13. Adnan
HZ ,   USA   (02.22.12)
Without charges does not equal without cause. He is a terrorist and proud of it! Of course, it's been stupid to delay charging him. Charge him with what we have now and add more charges as the investigation continues.
14. # 3
Birdi ,   Israel   (02.22.12)
No way did Israel admit a mistake here. Israel did not want to be held responsible for this terrorist's death.
15. Poor Adnan's wife, already in jail
Yossef   (02.22.12)
by her very husband, look at the picture !
16. Is Israel an independent state or a colony under foreign rul
zionist forever   (02.22.12)
We seem to be taking our orders from the US & even the EU who have traditionally been hostile to Israel. This is the second time the government has caved in in 3-4 months. The first one was when under pressure Bibi finally agreed to kill the watered down bill which which would have allowed foreign governments to continue giving money to political groups in Israel but just heavily taxed. The EU & US were virtually ordering BIbi to kill the bill and eventually he did as he was told by his American & European masters. Its not just Bibi its most Israeli political leaders, I think the only one who ever stood up to the rest of the world in recent times was Sharon. Now we have set a precedent every time a terrorist wants a get out of jail free card they will go on hunger strike and the government will say ok you win. I imagine Marwan Bargouti will be next as the left consider him to be the palestinian Nelson Mandela and he has alot of support in and outside Israel and we can hardly let the popular palestinian Mandela die can we?
17. Tibi & Family Lies...Adnan was in PA Jail
Netanya ,   Netanya   (02.22.12)
Adnan did a hunger strike in jail 10/2010 in a PA prison and the judge there also kept him without trail after hearing evidence. http://englishweb.aldameer.org/?p=497 Why was Tibi not screaming for his release then, Adnan was arrested for terror activities (not even 2 yrs ago.) The article posted above shows that he is "Shiekh Khader Anan, leader in Islamic Jihad movement" A hunger strike is something this man has used previously, just nobody cared, so he stopped. If Israel cannot be blamed, it is not even news worthy, that is just the fact. Tibi should be tossed out of gov 't, he is a traitor and a terror supporter.
18. Should have put him on an IV and let him rot in jail
SG ,   Teaneck   (02.22.12)
19. To rid the world of 1400 years of winners!
Yossi   (02.22.12)
Just let them win. "" He came out a winner "" -- Tibi's logic, like all arabs, a warped one. An idiot named adman, decides to fast for 65 days , make a mess of his body, and this is a winner islamic style."" the whole world was on his side ""--- the same rotten world is on Syrian slaughter, butchery sides for the past year, or the daily missile launching against Israel, or the vile French / al-Dura affair, reminiscent of the Dreyfuss debacle, or the daily murders of men, women, children in Iraq, Yemen, Pakistan, and most of islam's abyssimal failures -- join the civilized world ! By now, we are accustomed in witnessing the string of winnings in 48', 53', 67', 73'; the glorious arms of islamic supermen littering the desert as a testament of continuous winning stikes. As I said, let them win, so mother earth can be cleansed from islamic winners once and for all.
20. So he won???
Yael Schlichting ,   Raubling - Germany   (02.22.12)
After 65 days of hunger strike, he will not be able to continue his work as a murderous mastermind so soon. Once he recovered from this and starts to continue his bloody work, they may find new proof and detain him again.
21. Win? he lost !!!
Mike ,   Melb, Australia   (02.22.12)
Israel stated they "will not renew his administrative detention" . So this means he will serve his original 4 month term. Also the full Israeli statement said "will not renew his administrative detention unless new evidence is presented". Thus Israel wins as they keep him for the original 4 month detention, and will probably find the new evidence within that period without compromising their intelligence source which is why he is in administrative detention and not already charged in the first place.
22. #10, You ain't no attorney.
Michael ,   California, USA   (02.22.12)
I may be allowed to be an ass some time, within the law. The law is clear in this case. Didn't you swear to uphold the law? Amnesia, selective memory, worse?
23. #10, #14, Israel is civilized.
Michael ,   California, USA   (02.22.12)
Responsible to whom, for what? Has it been shown he was engaged in terrorist activities? The guy didn't have a case formulated against him on which attorneys could work. Detention for almost a year without a case, common. Justice without a trial does not apply in democracy, not even against your enemy. Admitting a mistake is how Israel shows it is a civilized country, a proud country. I don't doubt we will hear a case against this guy if he really is from Islamic Jihad and active there. Israel will know how to formulate the case against him and have a civilized trial carried out.
24. To: No. 22
Sarah B ,   U.S.A. / Israel   (02.22.12)
I'm sorry, but haven't you heard? Membership in a terrorist organization is a crime. Adnan held a position of leadership in a terrorist organization whose philosophy is particularly purgative and encourages the murder of innocent civilians. What part of that do you not understand? Just out of curiosity -- what do you think would happen to you in the United States if you held a position of leadership in an Al Qaeda cell? You'd get a one-way ticket to Gitmo, that's what would happen. So shut up; you have no idea what you are saying. But we've all known that for quite a while -- nothing new under the sun. And your grammar and usage is rather disgraceful -- "ain't no?" Uneducated and crass -- all that, and remarkably stupid, too. Congratulations -- you've hit the trifecta.
25. #23 Michael HOLDING TERROR SUSPECTS IS LEGAL &
Netanya ,   Netanya   (02.22.12)
This man is not only a self-proclaimed Islamic Jihad leader, there was evidence against him. The ONLY reason that Israel did not do an open trial is due to the sensitivity of the source of the intelligence. Every democratic country keeps terrorists like this, there is no choice. Al-Qaeda terror suspect, Abu Qatada, was held in detention in the UK for over 6yrs Same with USA...and to think this man is not a terrorist and is just eating on the Israeli tax payer's dime in jail, is ignorance. This is a terrorist, pure and simple, just because he bakes doesn't make him innocent, the Ft.Hood shooter was a major and a psychiatrist in the US Army. This terrorist was put on an IV and was being given vitamins and mineral supplements, unlike Gilad Shalit, who only got a 5 yr infection, lack of vitamin D and was held in a hole in the ground! But that didn't matter to the world, since it wasn't against Israel, the little devil.
26. To: No. 23
Sarah B ,   U.S.A. / Israel   (02.22.12)
Do you have any idea how many people were rounded up and held in administrative detention in the United States in the aftermath of September 11, 2001, while the DOJ contemplated deportation of undesirable aliens or studied individual facts and circumstances whether to prosecute? Adnan is NOT a citizen of Israel, and his crimes were committed in an area subject to military governance. He cannot rely on Israeli civil law, because he has no standing in an Israeli court. He cheerfully acknowledges being a ranking member of a known terrorist organization which, in case you haven't heard, is a crime in most countries; certainly the civilized ones.
27. Islamic Jihad
Mike ,   Melb. Australia   (02.22.12)
Islamic Jihad undertook hundreds of terror attacks and is responsible for the deaths of 118 Israelis and the wounding of an additional 759. In 2011, Islamic Jihad launched 226 rockets, including 59 longer-range Grads, at Israeli targets.
28. Are you kidding me?
Bad Ased Jew ,   United States   (02.22.12)
So, any run of the mill terrorist can go on a hunger strike and is released? WTF?
29. #24, Trifecta is:
Michael ,   California, USA   (02.22.12)
1. Amnesia, 2. Selective memory, 3. Worse. Look it up in #22. But there is nothing new, "we've all known that for quite a while."
30. # 23
Birdi ,   Israel   (02.22.12)
Google his name & read that he is a member of the islamic Jihad. Why would the Israeli security forces keep an innocent man in prison?
