It is not likely that the US would be kept uninformed by Israel. Even if this was so US intelligence would likely detect the preparations required for a strike on Iran. The more likely objective of these declarations might be to avoid getting US standing in the eyes of the muslim world from deteriorating further by giving the appearance of non cooperation. This was one explanation for the Libyan EU strikes which the US refused to directly participate in. Israeli declarations may also have internal political objectives to reassure the public & maintain government unity.

The real issue is not how effective economic sanctions work (and that's debatable), but timing. Iran is playing for time to have the delivery abilities before further sanctions affect them in a non reversible way. Yes, Obama's gang (don't forget, they are the Clinton Administration + a few Chicago loyalits) don't dare risk the elections. A Bush, Sr. or Reagan would long ago have bombed the Iranian facilities and then some. Go Israel! You are the only serious player left in the Nar East.

The US has ways to find out and alert our people without a formal notification from Israel. The US has early warning airborne radar all over the region to alert our troops and ships of incoming threats to us and to others. The US also has troops on the ground in Israel maintaining and operation US radar for ABM systems. The operators are all Americans, reporting up the chain to Americans. If Israel wants the radar take, Israel has to ask for the radar to be "on." This is all political and has nothing to do with security for either country. The only affect on US elections will be to boost Obama's chances with the CINC bump that happens with all wars since 1812. The only question is will Iran believe the sleight of hand?

I'm not so much concerned about whether the U.S. rates a head's up as I am with the strong likelihood, given the current administration, that the U.S. would tip off Iran. Not a risk worth taking.

I think you missed the point. Of course the United States will be able to detect an Israeli strike -- the issue is whether Israel informs the United States in advance of such a strike.

Why, thank you! I'm not all that easy to imitate. Which explains why invariably, the fakes write such short, stupid and grammatically incorrect posts. They cannot sustain the head fake, and they certainly do not sustain the perfect command of the English language. One does wonder, however, why they seem to consider it a calling.
