My husband was murdered 15 years ago in a grisly terrorist attack in Jerusalem. And without any media partying there are 8 boys named after him - these are the children of family and friends. In other words this item isn't really news because it just sharing of the standard Jewish way - someone is murdered or dies and we name children after the memory of the departed dear one. The only reason it is news is because some political organization has decided to continually USE the Fogel family as their "poster children". The use of any family as a "poster family" makes me sad. It makes it very difficult for the family to gather itself up emotionally and move on with their lives.

I was reading the printed edition of this site this morning and there is a picture in there of the two surviving kids crying at their parents grave and that picture alone said 1000 words. All I could feel was pity for those children and hatred for arabs and knowledge that we can never have real peace with these monsters.

I am sorry to hear about the loss of your husband but the Fogal incident is very different to your average terror attack. These men snuck into the family home in the middle of the night and whilst they slept stabbed and cut throats of not just the adults but the young children and baby. Most of even the most dedicated terrorists would have a hard time puling that off and in court the killers were proud of what they did. The may have been made the poster family for the pro settlement movement but even if they were not I think this is not something the country would forget and there would be a memorial for them. You want poster boy its Gilad Shalit, he is going all over the world meet with politicians, giving speeches and sorry but he is just some nobody who was kidnapped but now he is a celebrity and you got his father entering politics and going on talk shows. This is a memorial.

The family from Metzer has not been forgotten, and never will be. The murder happened almost 9 years ago though, and this was not the 1st anniversery. There have been many cruel terrorist attacks in the intifada like the one you mentioned, but this was the first time an infant was stabbed to death,so it really shocked many Israelis and Jews worldwide. And the Fogel family reacted no differently to the murders of their loved ones than the Ohayon family did. It's not the fault of the Fogels that people reacted in rage and anger that their family was brutally murdered. And the Arabs you love so much also cheered on the death of the Ohayon family. The Al Aqsa Martyrs Brigade, called the attack on the mother and the children" a legitimate resistance operation". All Israelis, are regarded as legitimate targets of these terrorists regardless of their political beliefs. After the terrorist who murdered the family was killed by the IDF,his hometown put on a memorial service, calling him a hero.
