1. What ?
Robert ,   FARMINGTON,WV   (03.01.12)
What is he talking about , the last time I check North Korea has nuclear weapon , so what he is saying is to wait and give Iran time to develop nuclear weapons , with the same water down sanction North Korea has. Should we have thought anything different from the Muslim President.
2. Yeah...but you know what it could be too?
Israeli 2   (03.01.12)
President Obama made a deal with either Russia or China to have them convince N. Korea to do this for a short period of time so that Israel will have to do some more soul searching until Iran will have the bomb and then it will be too late.
3. Will His Usefull Idiocy never end ?
Arn. ,   Sweden.   (03.01.12)
Obama's North Korean card Op-ed: US president will ask Israel to hold off on Iran strike, follow North Korean model Comment - " Better ONE Bird in the hand than TEN in the Wood"., an old Brittish word Or as we say in Sweden - "Dont sell the Bearskin before the Bear is shot " !!!. It is amazing what kind of Imbicillity this Obama exhibits. North-Korea is already a Loost game several Decades ago. Arn.Sweden.

5. The Great Narcissist!
Jack B. ,   USA   (03.01.12)
I think Obama may actually be an atheist who only believes in his own delusional self! Only great pride can try to support his distorted world-view and logic. Or even something more sinister: just plain evilness to its very core (I think it's the latter explanation). May God protect us all from this great pretender...this great narcissist!
6. Hey, look: it's Obama...replete with his own BS kit!
Z.Z. Coltrane ,   USA   (03.01.12)
God bless, Israel!
7. Is any one fooled? Heading should be :
rebecca ,   Modiin   (03.01.12)
US president will ask Israel to hold off on Iran strike, Until after the US elections
8. So how'd that turn out with North Korea?
Jacob Erickson ,   Holon   (03.01.12)
Oh yeah, I remember, they have nukes. And they aren't inspired by religious fanaticism.
9. Ignoring reality
Mike ,   Canada   (03.01.12)
I think everyone is missing the point, with Obama and the writer especially. Even if North Korea proves that it will halt its nuclear activities to save its own citizens (which it should), there is no proof that it was due to effective PRESENT sanctions. In fact, everybody is ignoring the reality that it took the death of Kim Jong il to facilitate this. In such a case, if you want to use NK as a model of success, then it follows that we need to wait for the death of Amadinejhad......in the time that may take, who knows what can happen, but I for one am not willing to A) bank on his death as a cause for ceasing nuclear aspirations or capability and B) underestimate how the Iranians may leverage their nukes to an extant far worse than NK did. The reality is Hussein Obama, that NK would have never done this with KJI in power....now that it is his son, you have taken advantage of lack of experience and lack of direction of a youth....congrats on that but it is not a model or benchmark to use against the crazed, more experienced and set in his ways M. Ahmadinejad. You diplomacy did not work with KJI and it will not work with him. Your liberalism has shut out any sense of rationality and reality.
10. One of many North Korea flip flops
Joe ,   Canada   (03.01.12)
Whenever the regime in N. Korea feels it can gain some material material advantage from the west it will feign to temporarily bend down on its agressivity. It often occurs when food &/or foreign currency reserves drop to dangerous low levels. Could it be that the economic problems in Iran (keeping Assad afloat) are drying up the flow of these badly needed imports? Are the Koreans fearing the coming conflict between the west & Iran to keep its ally powerless to help them for a long time? Although the Korean dictatorship is not driven by any ideology or religious fanaticism like Iran, it is still an irrational regime like any dictatorship & for democracies to believe you can get negociate in good faith like between two democracies is utterly stupid & bound to fail as soon as it suits the despots.
11. Israel would be lunatic to listen to Obama..
Chaim ,   Israel   (03.01.12)
Obama is among the worst presidents in U.S. history. Many analysts claim only Civil War Era President James Buchanan rivals Obama in his dubious claim to the worst president ever. Obama has devastated the U.S. economy. He's skyrocketed unemployment, deficits and taxes. Obamacare is an unconstitutional disgrace. Obama's domestic polices are uniformly disastrous. As are his foreign policies. Not only is Obama an absolute incompetent. His record, since his inauguration, is of unremitting hostility towards Israel. Yet Obama feels qualified to give Israel advice on what is a life and death situation for our entire nation!!!! Israel would be lunatic to listen to Obama.
12. Mike - yes you are ignoring reality
Gee ,   Zikron Yaakov   (03.01.12)
Iran is not North Korea. North Korean has never threatened genocide, Iran does that daily. The last time I looked Iranians are not starving by the millions either.
13. Let me tell you how North Korea went
shaun green ,   pasadena usa   (03.01.12)
2001 North korea holds south hostage for food with nuke program 2003 North Korea agrees no nukes in exchange for food. 2008 North Korea resumes nukes 2009 North korea bombs south korea 2012 North korea suspends nukes for food. Seeing a pattern here?
14. "North Korean Card" - 100% predictable from 4-flusher Obama
Dr. L. Brnd ,   San Diego, USA   (03.01.12)
What you expect from the cheap Chicago political hack in our White House is dishonest game-playing on the eve of a meeting with Israel on Iran, a public relations shell-game stunt - instead of an honest dialog. And that is exactly what we see. As the article points out, like the fat guy who keeps committing to diets but always goes back to gaining weight, North Korea has never actually stuck to any of its nuke and missile "moratoriums" in exchange for food aid. They just resume the program whenever they want to. These aid shipments never altered North Koreas behavior - look at the recent submarine torpedoing of a S. Korean destroyer in international waters, look at the massive artillery and rocket attack on a South Korean island - all without the slightest response from the "ally" Obama White House except empty rhetoric. This phony Obama "card" is another of the many aces this liar and cheat keeps up his sleeve to dishonestly con people. In doing so - he demonstrates further that he can't be trusted. His own advisors have repeatedly told the US public in interviews that Iran is unlikely to be dissuaded by sanctions. So now Obama is trying to make a distinction between "nuclear capability" and "nuclear weapons", along with PR crap like the North Korea stunt - notice the "coincidental" timing: the act of a cheap con man. The net effect of the Obama presidency is to effectively protect Iran from Israel, not to effectively protect Israel from Iran, 100% of the evidence says this [note the massive Obama cut in aid to Israel for anti-missile defense]. When has Obama ever, even once, put public pressure on Iran not to attack Israel, or built a deterrence by laying out what exactly he would do if they did - NEVER!
15. There is NO comparison
Brod ,   USA   (03.01.12)
The N. Koreans are NOT Islamist-Jihadist fanatics. They have not threatened to annihilate another country. They have no ambition for regional or world domination. Iran is an Islamist-Jihadist country governed by fanatical Islamist-Jihadist Ayatollahist tyrannical regiime. Iran's government has repeated threatened to annihilate Israel and is feverishly working on its nuke to accomplish its evil intention. Iran has ambition for regional domination. It is also an exporter of terrorism and has killed and maimed thousands of Americans in Iraq and Afghanistan through their roadside bombings. There is no comparison between the two countries. It is just a delaying tactic of the Obama administration to give ample time for the Ayatollahist fanatics to complete their dark work. Israel should not be fooled by this crap.
16. Surprise! Surprise!
Yael Schlichting ,   Raubling - Germany   (03.01.12)
So all over sudden North-Korea wants to negotiate? I am placing a question mark, because this has a history! Has this anything to do with Iran? Okay, I will go into this: North Korea is supplying Iran with technology for its missile program and for its nuclear program. Hundreds of North Korean scientists and engineers are working in Iran and Iran seems to reach the point where Iran can make substantial progress and help North Korea in return. What do we know about the treaties between North Korea and Iran? Nothing! Plain nothing! We can assume, that Iran will compensate North Korea for stopping its program, thus lifting pressure from Iran and increasing pressure onto Israel. And Obama? Is he really so stupid to believe, that North Korea just says they are accepting a moratorium while they negotiate? They lied on this more than once! And Obama? Is he a liar, too?
17. #11: Chaim - speaking of "lunatics", you seem to meet the ..
Rafi ,   US   (03.02.12)
... bill. If Obama is such a bad US President, why is he currently leading in all current public opinion polls? Most Amer's know that it was Geo W Bush's disastrous over-spending on the wars in Afghan and Iraq coupled with irrepsonsible tax cuts in the midst of all that which put the US economy into a tailspin in 2008 well BEFORE Obama took office. In terms of Israel, Obama has taken a moderate approach... but in terms of miltary aid, he has provided Israel with more than any other US Pres in history. Just for laughs you should check the actual FACTS on these issues before you accuse. But we wouldn't want facts to get in the way of your frothing-at-the mouth anti-Obama hysteria would we?
18. (NORTH-)KOREA, IRAN...
SJOERD RUURD ,   PLANET EARTH   (03.02.12)
UNFORTUNATELY KOREA, IRAN STILL HAVE A FORM OF AUTHORITARIAN DICTATORSHIP. HOWEVER IT IS NOT THEIR GOAL, TO HAVE WORLD-DOMINATION, LIKE FOR INSTANCE THE FUNDAMENTALISTICAL AL QAIDA WANTS, WITH WORLD-CALIPHATE...
19. #17. Rafi. Like usual, you offer nothing but puerile insults
Chaim ,   Israel   (03.02.12)
#17. Rafi. Like usual, you offer nothing but puerile insults. First of all, Obama is not leading in all public opinion polls. In fact, his favorability rating recently hit 43%. Secondly, Obama's pathetic record speaks for itself. America hasn't had such high sustained unemployment since the Great Depression. Today an incredible 47 million Americans are on food stamps. Obama is certainly leading in that department. Bush was not one of America's better presidents but he looks pretty fine compared to Obama. As for Obama's disgusting treatment of Israel; that is too well know to need repeating here. Rafi, you are the one frothing at the mouth. The facts speak for themselves.
20. North Korea is worst disaster maybe EVER
jkandel ,   Canada   (03.03.12)
Not being able to stop North Korea is possibly the worst diplomatic disaster EVER. The spread of their nuke technology to Pakistan, Iran, and now likely Saudi A., Jordan and the rest of the "reliable/responsible" democracies is coming to fruition. This is the work of enemies of the West (i.e. China and Russia) flexing their muscle and making cash along the way. It MUST be stopped at all costs. I suspect that the N.Korea deal was cooked up with the Chinese/Russians in exchange for Syria's butchering to be allowed to continue, and keeping Israel from taking out Iran's nukes right now -and letting Obama try his feckless diplomacy. All the while, the savage mullahs are laughing. This is not a joke. Iran's mullahs and Assad don't give a rats a$$ about who they kill or how. The more the merrier.
21. I thought this was satire.
John Moore ,   Phoenix, AZ   (03.03.12)
Sadly, it wasn't satire! The example of Korea shows that diplomacy leads to the bad guys having nukes! Even if this current one works, it will be because of a regime change. We haven't seen one of those in Iran since the Ayatollahs took over. Bomb, baby, Bomb
22. Iran is Cuba not N Korea
r ,   Atlanta USA   (03.03.12)
Obama has no card to play.
23. Rafi # 17
Eaglebeak ,   Left Coast, USA   (03.03.12)
Don't blame it all on George Bush. Clinton wanted poor people to own homes even if they couldn't afford them. Bush's tax cuts have nothing to do with our problems. To much government and government handouts are the problem. Do you realize that at one time there was NO income tax in America? We got along just fine but then back in those days our government didn't intrude on every aspect of our lives and keep growing like a cancer. You are in no position to point your finger at Chaim.
