1. Page from Bushs' Playbook
emanon ,   USA   (03.02.12)
America has never unseated a sitting president during an active conflict. That's why Bush II staged his little shenanigans when he did. Of all the plays Obama could have made, why did he choose this one?
2. Irans conventional weapons are enough...
Chris.B ,   Australia   (03.02.12)
to contain Israel.Israel knows this and so does America.
3. Dear Mr. Presidentm you are a big bluff for your owne

DA URBAN POET ,   SAFED OPERA HOUSE   (03.02.12)
YAWN....
5. DEAR PRESIDENT OBAMA
DA URBAN POET ,   SEFAT JAMAICA   (03.02.12)
An old adage ( well two of them actually ) : 1. Talk is cheap . 2 . Money talks ,bullshit walks.
6. Jerusalem 2012
Adam Neira ,   Paris, France   (03.02.12)
Reconvened NPT Conference in Jerusalem in 2012 ! Helsinki is not the best option.
7. Obama knows sanctions won't work against Iran
Scott ,   Ramat Gan, Israel   (03.02.12)
Sanctions have caused Iran to speed-up its work on nuclear weapons, not slow it down. As long as Russia & China are not on board, sanctions cannot be effective. Obama had a chance to get Russia to support sanctions by making a deal to move the missile defense out of eastern Europe, but he did it without getting anything from Russia. All Obama is doing now is buying time for Iran while talking tough. Talk is cheap, there's no better time to act than now & targeted air strikes do not mean "war". Iran knows it can't win a war with the U.S.
8. A bald-faced lie
SF ,   USA   (03.02.12)
"Every single commitment I have made to the state of Israel and its security, I have kept," Sure, just like the promise of an undivided Jerusalem under Israeli sovereignty. That "commitment" lasted exactly 24 hours.
9. He means it and he is BIG.
Michael ,   California, USA   (03.02.12)
Israel should calm it while diplomacy does its schtik. Sit comfortably on our asses while the Big Boy takes care of the business. Obama means what he says, and besides, Israel cannot do better than that.
10. Post-Iraq US: no more WARS in mideast
Adam ,   USA   (03.02.12)
In my neighborhood, like across US, 3 schools and 1 fire department have closed and hundreds of lay-offs, and Obama wants to sends America's boys and girls to die in Iran so that Ethiopian, Ukrainian, and Russian jews can occupy Palestine with PEACE.
11. and this is his ultimatum?
david ,   new york   (03.02.12)
he was going to lay out what the "red lines" were. instead he said nothing. his threat is not credible.
12. It is known
Jane   (03.02.12)
that Jeffrey Goldberg (the writer of the Atlantic piece and an editor of that publication) is an Obama apologist and shill. Yes, Goldberg is pro-Israel, but in a left of center kind of way. He no doubt was more than happy to provide Obama a forum that sorta kinda looked like he (Obama) cares when, as we all know, he does not.
13. muzlum obuma will NEVER attack iran, hates Jews too much.
Bunnie Meyer ,   Los Angeles, CA USA   (03.02.12)
14. Why should one trust his assurances,he rejected writen ones,
ab   (03.02.12)
in the Presidential Letter from Bush to Sharon
15. IF YOU'RE GONNA SHOOT ,SHOOT
ELI WALLACH ,   SPAGHETTI WESTERN   (03.02.12)
Don't talk.
16. Obama's Word
Syd Chaden ,   Palermo Calif USA   (03.02.12)
I agree with Obama's statement that he is as good as his word. That is why I worry so that Israel will rely upon it, and join the others under the bus.
17. Your - Assurances -
Arn. ,   Sweden.   (03.02.12)
-" Yes we Can " - Will show itself to be "No you cant" regarding all your policy making. You are a looser and will lose all grip on the World. Arn.Sweden
18. Any Jew that votes for Obama Hussein is a traitor!!!!!!!!
Mike   (03.02.12)
19. THE UNITED STATES, IRAN, EVERY OTHER COUNTRY/PEOPLE WITH A N
SJOERD RUURD ,   PLANET EARTH   (03.02.12)
NUCLEAR ARSENAL... AS LONG AS IRAN, EVERY OTHER COUNTRY REFRAINS FROM AGRESSION/AN ATTACK AGAINST ANOTHER COUNTRY/PEOPLE, UNITED STATES, EVERY OTHER COUNTRY, EVEN SUCH AN INSTITUTION AS THE ENTIRE UNITED NATIONS ORGANIZATION, MIND YOUR OWN BUSINESS, IN PRINCIPLE, ALSO IN THAT CASE, FOR THE TIME BEING, OR NO NUCLEAR ARSENAL AT ALL, FOR EVERY COUNTRY. THINK AND DECIDE IN A SMART, WISE WAY, SINCE 1945...
20. But he is the crowned King of Bluff.
Harry Wright ,   UK   (03.02.12)
Credibility is a big issue with him. There is so much doubt about the legitimacy of his presidency, what with serious accusations of forgery and fraud regarding his birth certificate which he refuses to clear up definitively. Then too, there is that purportedly fraudulent Selective Service card with only two digits denoting the year (80) when all others carry four digits (1980). No wonder many are not inspired to believe a single word he says but view him as bluffing his way through everything, including critical ME crises. What a mess! So, after Iran gets nuclear weapons (which he seems bent on allowing), he will continue saying it is unacceptable for Iran to have it - as if he will do something about it - at some obscure date in the future. What will he harangue Bibi with? More rants about the effectiveness of sanctions?
21. #12, This is the best Israel can have, and it is good enough
Michael ,   California, USA   (03.02.12)
With your megalomania, you would like to tell Obama what to do, all the time. For your information, Obama is the U.S. president on purpose. He was elected to care for the U.S., primarily the U.S., and he is doing a reasonably good job at it. Therefore, he will be re-elected. You brace yourself for four additional years to sorta kinda minding the business of Israel on its own. With Obama in the White House it is the best Israel can have from the U.S. under the current hardships of this country.
22. Don't blame Obama, Blame BIBI
Sheik rattle & roll ,   USA   (03.02.12)
That is all I hear from you Israeli's. I say blame BIBI for being the weak man that he is. He is ultimately responsible for the citizens of Israel not OBAMA. BIBI should man up and take care of business instead of seeking the support of Uncle Sam.
23. My biggest problem with Obama is that Bush never needed
leo ,   usa   (03.02.12)
to say "I'm not bluffing".
24. Chris.B @2, you do not need weapons to contain Israel,
leo ,   usa   (03.02.12)
you need only good will. However, if you still wish to be belligerent toward Israel I do not think any amount of weapons will help you.
25. Just like you're not bluffing re your birth certificate,
Devorah   (03.02.12)
Barry Soetoro? The birth certificate sh*t hit the fan in the U.S. yesterday thanks to Sheriff Joe Arpaio of Arizona. Also, RIP Andrew Breitbart (43 years old) who, last month, got his hands on records of Barry's college activities and whose last interview was recently with Sheriff Arpaio. Breitbart was set to release the records to the public soon.
26. be afraid be smart stay cool
avramele   (03.02.12)
There is a dangerous high stakes game at play here. If trust between Israel and the US is not restored not only would the desired solution of a no nukes iran be in jeopardy but the future of relations between the Israeli and American people will be threatened. Long gas lines, increases in terrorism and a prolonged military political crisis will change reality not for the better. Caution and smarts are needed.
27. Who is Obama to be dictating to sovereign nations?
christianpalestinian ,   las vegas   (03.02.12)
Pure arrogance
28. #13: Bunnie: Yep, but American Jews will vote for him!
David ,   Karmiel, Israel   (03.02.12)
29. #16
Jane   (03.02.12)
We're already under the bus. Time to pull ourselves out from under - the sole/soul(less) Obama - and take our fate into our own hands. Thank G-d that now WE HAVE OUR OWN HANDS!
30. #15 Shooting & Talking about it
John ,   Boise, ID USA   (03.02.12)
You remembered! From The movie "For A Few Dollars More" starring Clint Eastwood & Eli Wallach...holds true even today: Blow their nuke facilities including their industrious space program. Let the mad dictators make their threats to "annihilate the West" with a response to keep them busy on their rebuilding program.
