A recent comment of mine titled "Earthquake or missile?" received positive & negative points adding up to a total of 8 points at the website of a rightist Israeli newspaper that has a version in Russian too, and it went like this: the Middle East is geologically unstable, so a strong quake could conceivably hit J'lem. & destroy the Moslem temples on the Temple Mount, but something else could do the job just as thoroughly, namely, a misguided Iranian or Palestinian rocket. Some might feel that this is a sign that the time to level the land there and build the Third Temple has arrived. Christians will rejoice because the Second Coming can't happen unless the Temple is once again where it used to be, so if a devout Christian like Santorum or Romney is elected president then maybe he'll encourage Israel and be partly responsible for an attack on Iran, because he will have heard about the Hypothesis of the Errant Missile. Maybe it sounds crazy, but so do the notions that some people manage to get published and displayed prominently.

Rockets can be used ONE time only. Aircraft on the other hand can return again and again. If we reduce their capacity to only a few missiles that Arrow can take care of those, but our aircraft can return to Iran time and again until they can no longer threaten us.
