1. See the religious circus is back in town
Haim ,   TA   (03.05.12)
Will the mail service be checking our letters to make sure they comply with Jewish religioious law ?
2. I love it when the gov't & Rabbis make decisions for me
Charles   (03.05.12)
According to the government and Rabbinical authorities I'm too stupid to think for myself and decide what to do in most situations. Thankfully the government and Rabbinical authorities are there to make sure I don't have the chance to make an "inappropriate" decision. After all, they are always right and would never do anything but for our own good.
3. Kol Hakavod!!! These postmen deserve a bonus
Allan ,   PT   (03.05.12)
for their refusal to distribute illegal anti-Jewish mailing.
4. just throw them in the pach!
ed   (03.05.12)
5. Postman refusing distribution
Deepak ,   Ahmednagar, India   (03.05.12)
Its sad to know that Israel, in this instance sounds like Saudi Arabia.
6. missionaries ARE NOT freedom of religion
tom ,   toronto, canada   (03.05.12)
israel has freedom of religion, but a missionary, whose goal is to change another person's religion, is the exact opposite of freedom of religion. and if the post office had stopped to think, and maybe asked their legal department, they might not have said something quite so stupid. they are only required to deliver mail that doesn't violate any laws. the post office cannot allow itself to be knowingly used for illegal purposes, such as delivering drugs or committing fraud. if proselytizing is illegal, then so is delivering their materials.
7. GOOD decision Posties!!
Julie ,   Israel   (03.05.12)
am so glad that you, Charles, as a Jew living in Israel, are happy for the PO and Rabbis to relieve you of the distasteful prospect of this reading material finding its way to your mailbox. I know I am. !!!!
8. # 4
Philip . ,   Afula, Israel   (03.05.12)
The postal workers or the Bible ?
9. Stamped Mail or Bulk Distribution?
Davida Chazan ,   Jerusalem, Israel   (03.05.12)
If the booklets are stamped and personally addressed to individuals on their route, then I'm afraid these postmen have to deliver their mail no matter what it is. However, if a mass of any kind of unstamped and unaddressed publicity materials are given to the post offices for general distribution (be it about anything - a product, a religious group or a service), I don't think that the postal workers should distribute them. In fact, the post offices should not even accept that kind of thing for distribution. Distributing any kind of publicity materials in that fashion is giving those groups/services/businesses support from a governmental office. Those groups/services/businesses should hire their own distributors.
10. @1&2 Both religious and secular postal workers
rebecca ,   Modiin   (03.05.12)
Get a grip on your problems guys.
11. Distributing Christian Materials
Tam Highpoint ,   Prince Geo. USA   (03.05.12)
What's the matter with you who believe that these materials are going to convince any of you that this Jesus is Messiah? Isn't your believe in what you believe strong enough to resist the power of God?
12. In Iran religious leaders decide in behalf of people ...
Jouko ,   kuopio   (03.05.12)
what they should read because the leaders think that their citicenzs cannot decide for themselves. It seems to be true also about israel - people cannot decide what is wright or wrong except their leaders tell them! how sad!
13. New Testament has 240 instances of vile Jew hatred.
Jeffrey Korman ,   Douglaston, NY   (03.05.12)
And all these 240 vile Jew hatreds like the perfidious Jews, and blood is on our heads in only 250 pages of text, that is at least one a page. The New Testament is also complete fiction of a life never lived. If you want to know where the Expulsions, the Inquisitions, the Ghettoes, the Pale, the Gas Chambers, the Ovens were created you only have to look to the New Testament.
14. I'm fed up with all these
Yossef   (03.05.12)
christians who to convert me to this masquerade of a man dead for my sins, or these muslims who just want me to be wiped off the map. Cannot they just leave us quiet ?
15. no need to bend over backwards to kill ourselves
Larry ,   Los Angeles   (03.05.12)
What kind of idiots should we be to help those who hate us, kill us? Do we have to be everyone's idiot? Let the Christians spread their missionary activities with the Muslims and see where they will end up. If they just slice their necks they will be lucky. In Islamic countries they really do torture Christian missionaries; we Jews do not have to be goody-goodies for every Jew hating Christian.
16. STOP this missionary bullshit !!!!!!!
Chris Rettenmoser ,   Bayerisch Gmain Germ   (03.05.12)
Enough is enough !
17. The New Testament is the book of evil !
Chris Rettenmoser ,   Bayerisch Gmain Germ   (03.05.12)
We are FED up with it !
18. Allan
Walt K ,   Sherbrooke, Canada   (03.05.12)
The Bible is not contaminated. The story recalls me that in the Middle Ages, The Church of Rome used to burn valuable books judged unmoral... So, if you don't like, don't read. **** I think I will by one for knowing what happened to Jesus.... Ha, Ha, Ha !
19. #13
(03.05.12)
According to the NT , Jesus and his 12 disciples, his family and the 1000s of Jews who followed him around were all Jews. All these 240 instances of ''Jew hatred'' in the NT are largely in your fevered imagination.
20. Jesus failed to garner any real Jewish following
Yoni the JEW ,   Jewish Homeland   (03.05.12)
If Jesus himself could get only uneducated and non Jewish to follow him, what makes these missionaries so bold to think they can get the Jews to change their minds? The answer is simple. They follow in Jesus's example and go only for uneducated Jews which are plentiful in Israel since the secular have commandeered the educational system. This is sick and pathetic. Preying on the weak sick and old like vultures
21. To #9 Distribution etc.
(03.05.12)
But they have hired the Israel Postal Company and it has accepted to distribute the booklets. And you must assume that the Postal Company knows what is illegal or not in Israel. So this is a conflict between the Postal Company and some of its workers who for religious reasons refuse to do what they are paid to do.
22. #19 Jesus never existed, the Gospels are fiction.
Jeffrey Korman ,   Douglaston, NY   (03.05.12)
23. # 21
Birdi ,   Israel   (03.05.12)
Nope, no NT were deliverd in Ramat Gan because the post men did not deliver these books in Ramat Gan.
24. A question to the Israel Postal company
Vladimir ,   Yerushalayim   (03.05.12)
Israel Postal Company officials responded: "The Israel Postal Company is a governmental company operating in accordance to the Postal Law, which obligates us to distribute any mail it receives. The Israel Postal Company has no right or ability to chose what it can or cannot distribute...". Now my question. Would they distribute Hitler's "Mein Kampf" translated into Hebrew or "The Protocols of the Zion Sages" - in accordance with the Postal Law?
25. i want to throw up
esty   (03.05.12)
great done postmen!!!! im not going to express my real opinions about that heretic called "jesus" cause ynet wouldnt post my comment lol but u can imagine
26. proselytizing or missionary?
cristian ,   argentina   (03.05.12)
the proselytizing that is dedicated to persuade new followers for any political cause,as a choise,a rebellion or any other type of political movement is always free, all the time, everywhere but politicians only brought fraud, lies, theft, war and death mean the missionary who knows jesus messiah and makes others also know him to follow him by the commandments, that one is prohibited, the men word propaganda is allow but the word of God is censored, the upside down world
27. Only ignorance + fear could drive such hatred
Thinking Jew ,   real world   (03.05.12)
If it's nonsense, then what is there to fear? Why hate? Why not have compassion and educate the ignorant instead of making enemies of them?
28. #1
shua ,   Jerusalem, Israel   (03.05.12)
But you can't blame the haredim for this one, they don't work in the post office!!
29. Fear not, there is now no condemnation.....

30. the Jewish mail?
Mimi   (03.05.12)
-the extremists and fanatics at work again? the mail was paid for, the postmen are paid to deliver mail- ALL mail. Dismiss the lazy bums who don't do their work properly. It is not up to the plebes to make the laws.
