1. Iran
Dan ,   New York, USA   (03.07.12)
Israel needs to insure that it wins whatever war it starts with Iran. Considering the ass whipping that Hezbollah meted out in 06, and the less than glorious campaign against Hamas in cast lead... I would definitely be afraid.
2. Sorry, lads, no full-scale US attack this month
Cameron ,   USA   (03.07.12)
3. You call this an opinion piece?
Jerry ,   Jerusalem   (03.07.12)
This is shorter than a 3rd-grade essay. It's depth is nonexistent. Is this the level of intellect to which a short-attention-span-minded editorial staff has fallen? Oh dear, how far we've fallen.
4. #1 The Mistake made
Dan ,   Florida   (03.07.12)
Dan the mistake Israel made was by not leveling Gaza. Gaza had and continues to attack Israel. By any definition that is war and requires a full retaliatory response. Stupid liberals cry "proportional response". Those are the same left wing idiots that called for a halt in the Afghan war so that injured Taliban could heal in hospitals and then return to the battlefield. Perhaps you forgot that. War with Iran's Mullahs will not be easy and will not be quick but it will be decisive and will change the face of Arab Islam. With Iraq, Syria, Egypt, Lebanon and Libya out of the game the Mullah's will have no place to run to except the open path to their 72 black eyed virgins. There is no other option or the world will again be plunged into a new Dark Age brought upon us by insane Mullahs with nuclear weapons screaming Allah Akbar as they destroy God's perfect creation.
5. Obama helps Iran. This guy is a real threat for Jews
(03.07.12)

Reuven   (03.07.12)
8. Mr. Benhorin is wright !
Mark ,   T.a. Israel   (03.07.12)
How can we trust OBAMA since he always was a Dishonest Broker a man who NEVER visited Israel !
9. seems like the reply' given avoid the questions all together
Israel kicked ,   hellsbullys asses   (03.07.12)
Sounds like Israel is going down without a fight. Just remember the advice of the so called-non messiah... "Head for the hills and hide".
10. Op-Ed is right. Obama consistently desists.
BUTSeriously ,   Sydney   (03.07.12)
On every occasion when he should have acted, Obama has failed miserably. When he had 100% reason to be pro-Israel and against the PA - he did a 100% reverse. Obama is not using scare tactics and prudence as a weapon. Obama has already stated America will never be at war with an Islamic state - which is his personal opinion but not one of America.
11. Israel has Carte Blanche
Mark of Lewiston ,   Lewiston, USA   (03.07.12)
You don't have to trust the US. You have carte blanche. Just note that You, the decision makers in Israel, NOT the US or Obama, are responsible for what You do and the aftermath.
12. to trust obama (or anybody else)
les ,   canada   (03.07.12)
with the security and existence of israel??? who you think you are kidding? all we can trust is the people of israel (less the peace now and fellow pinkos) the IDF and IAF. NO ONE ELSE!!!
13. Trust him if you will!
Robert ,   Jacksonville Florida   (03.07.12)
You people have got to be kidding, I live in the USA and don’t trust him with my security and you really think he cares about yours? He’s not Jewish and he not a Christian except when it suits his needs. God as my witness you will rue the day that you trusted him.
14. Don't you get it.....
Ron L ,   TN, USA   (03.07.12)
Obama hates Israel, the Jews, and yes, America!
15. #1, 2 and 3
Israeli 2   (03.07.12)
#1: FYI Israel whipped Hezbollah and beat them to pulp until the fat rat deep inside his hole admitted that had he known Israel's resolve, he would not have started it. The President of Lebanon went into tears. Israel could have done more damage, but the lefty government thought it was enough. You get a Failing grade for not knowing your history, chum. #2: We certainly hope that you are right and Iran capitulates before being whipped badly. #3: Hanoch Daum is certainly a great writer and you are a sleezy slimebag. If you have nothing else to say, about this truthful piece of information , join the rats in Lebanon.
16. Do Not Trust Obama
Brett ,   Florida   (03.07.12)
C'mon now? We are all smart enough to NEVER forget where this man went to church for twenty years before becoming president. Rev. Wright ring a bell? Obama hates Israel, wake up and smell the coffee! And didn't BiBi put O's stuff in the street when he mentioned he don't leak information about attacks Monday at AIPAC? Obama will sacrifice Israel wilfully to any muslim nation, and or peoples, look at your borders. Who told Panetta to tell the world Israel would attack Iran this spring? You, my brothers and sisters are being set-up! You,we, are Jews right? Then go with God, everywhere you go.
17. I don't trust Netanyahu, either.
Rich ,   Toronto, Canada   (03.07.12)
18. double check your facts
chaim ,   toronto canada   (03.07.12)
2006 did not see an ass whipping, Israel held back and Cast Lead was a huge success in teaching the Hamas terrorists a lesson. Again Israel held back. If the gloves were off and they did what they should do. Hezzy and Hamas would no longer be.
19. Whiney and paranoid article...
TaylorT ,   Earth   (03.07.12)
Hence, the regulars around here will eat it up.
20. Iran war
Count Dracula ,   Los Angeles   (03.07.12)
This opinion is correct. However, it does not give any reason why the USA should protect Israel. How is this of value to the USA interests. I find this failure in most of these talkbacks, i.e., the USA interests to be missing. Sure Israel wants protection, but you have placed yourself in an almost untenable place without any consideration of anyone elses needs. As the old-saw goes, "you made your bed, now sleep in it".
21. #1: Delusions that prove the media hype
Susan ,   DC, USA   (03.07.12)
It was Hezbollah's ass that was getting whipped, along with half of Lebanon - that's why the UN suddenly decided to actually get involved & pretend to do its job - it was THEY who stopped everything, not the terrorists nor Lebanon. & as for Cast Lead, I do want to thank you for confirming that Israel obviously isn't the ogre your side usually says, because you're also insisting she didn't win that, either, much less devastate the area, as is usually hysterically claimed.
22. Obama is trying to get rid of the United States
Steven Wilson ,   Anchorage, Alaska   (03.07.12)
Nuclear Arsenal. He is running around trying to sell the liberal agenda, about the world being a safe place. We don't need these weapons. Yet Israelis think he is going to protect them???? He won't even protect the United States. Obama will be holding a sword....sitting under a an alternative energy windmill....as the nukes come flying into the United States...swinging his blade back and forth to stop them just like Don Quixote. Obama is our new stealth weapons system.....capable of stopping all incoming missiles....under the environmentally green crowd....who want no nuclear deterrence... or military presence any longer. These smucks can't protect themselves...because they are in utter denial of the dangers that are outside of our country...waiting to kill and destroy us.
23. #6 David
Sam ,   Australia   (03.07.12)
Hi David, Why are you attacking the writer? Are you really sure that your 3rd grade daughter can do better? Ask her to do it and we will decide. Can you not just focus on the message? If you disagree, then put out your solid compelling argument. By name calling or ad hominem or undermining the writer only to lower you as an intellectual..
24. I don`t trust Obama
Igor ,   Moscow   (03.07.12)
and nobody trust the jews anymore
25. you don't have to, but really should
observer   (03.07.12)
26. "American interests", not just "his personal interests".
Jacob   (03.07.12)
I'm intrigued that Mr Daum appears to view placing the interests of the people it is his job to represent ahead of the interests of a foreign country as a defect in an American president. Are you saying that America should be governed according to what is best for Israel?
27. Strange sense of entitlement
Max Maier ,   Germany   (03.07.12)
Apart from the dismal quality of this opinion piece I am genuinely puzzled by the strange sense of entitlement that is shown here and in many other articles on this site. Obama is President of the United States and it is his duty of office to put the interests of his country first. If these do not match Israel's priorities (or those of any other country, for that matter), then bad luck for Israel. What makes people believe that he should yield to Israel's demands even if he believes that these might not match US interests? Additionally, all this chest thumping about being "master of your destiny" isn't that credible if you demand unconditional guarantees to get bailed out by the US if being "master of destiny" lands you in a mess.
28. Exactly !!!.
Arn. ,   Sweden.   (03.07.12)
I don't trust Obama Op-ed: We can't count on president to protect Israel at the expense of his personal interest Comment - Obama do not sacrifice His pssible reelection for the sake of, the US, Israel and the World. He is a Fake and Egoist only. Arn.
29. You're not the only one wondering, #27
Cameron ,   USA   (03.07.12)
That quality is always a running constant on YNET postings.
30. 21 Susan - Bush Involved the UN
Mark ben Josef ,   USA   (03.07.12)
Bush got an earful from Congress on Lebanon. Pics on US TV of Americans school girls in Beirut under fire and huddling, afraid to move prompted calls to Congress. Pics on US TV of Brits and French and other countries rescuing Americans from Israeli bombs and evacuating them was not good Israeli PR. Bush sent in the Marines and decided to act. Bush put his best guy on the case, Bolton. Bolton dithered until Olmert decided a deal was in his interest.
