1. Scenario Planning
Adam Neira ,   Paris, France   (03.07.12)
All possibilities must be looked into. To solve a Rubik's Cube you need to see all the sides and then work out the algorithms and moves necessary. The doomsday scenario is if Iran enriches uranium secretly and a critical threshold is reached in the next thirty days. This will result in preventative action being taken place by the USA and/or Israel by the middle of April. It really is all about the intention of various parties now. On this score events of the past week are moving in a promising direction.
2. ISRAEL, THE UNITED STATES, IRAN...
SJOERD RUURD ,   PLANET EARTH   (03.07.12)
FOR EXAMPLE,IN PRINCIPLE, IN THAT CASE, ALSO A PRE-EMPTIVE STRIKE AGAINST IRAN, EVERY OTHER COUNTRY/PEOPLE, COULD/CAN BE CONSIDERED AS A FORM OF AGRESSION/ATTACK. THEN EVERY COUNTRY HAS THE RIGHT TO DEFEND ITSSELF/TO STRIKE BACK, AS LONG AS IRAN/EVERY OTHER COUNTRY MINDS IT''S OWN NATIONAL, INTERNAL, DOMESTICAL BUSINESS...
3. the header says it all...
Rob ,   Orangevale U.S.A.   (03.07.12)
Strategic Studies says only US capable of serious campaign against nuclear facilities; pre-emptive Israeli strike could backfire, Comment, "Duh". But that wont stop the barking. Shalom Israel. Rob

Brod ,   USA   (03.07.12)
It is good that London Think Tank starts spewing crap. The Ayatollahist fanatics need to chew on crap. This will sober them from their pathway of destruction. Meanwhile, they would have ample time to complete their nukes.

If israel strikes and delays Iran's development of a bomb by ["only"] 2 years, they gain a respite of possibly being annihilated (G-d forbid). Do you think that's so bad?
10. Iran should thank........
Robert ,   Farmington   (03.07.12)
Iran should thank Obama , the United Nations and Netanyahu for according nuclear weapons. The whole thing should have been put to rest a longtime ago , Obama will go down in history as the Muslim president who let Iran have nuclear weapons , and Netanyahu will go down in history of bring another holocaust to the Jewish people. Israel needs to put there faith in God and forget putting in Obama or Netanyahu one or the other is going to get Israel blown off the map.

In 1948 "London" gave the new Israel state 6 weeks maximum survival time...........seems like they where wrong about that too.

15. Another silly and dishonest article
Michael Redbourn ,   Arad Israel   (03.07.12)
How many tactical nuclear warheads would be necessary? 2? There is so much hype that it's now becoming boring. Israel has tactical nuclear weapons that can easily do the job without "multiple runs" and "multiple-refueling" etc. When the time comes Israel will drop them and that's it. If you don't know what tactical nuclear warheads are then you can easily find out. They were designed for this job. Iran can't yet produce an atom bomb let alone a nuclear bomb. Iran is 60 years behind, USA Russia, France, UK, Israel, China, and others ... just imagine what they learned in 60 years!
16. How many atom/nuclear bombs to destroy Israel?
Michael Redbourn ,   Arad Israel   (03.07.12)
The only nuclear bombs ever field tested where relativity small. The bombs deployed at Hiroshima and Nagasaki where 13 and 21 kilotons each respectively. We're only talking about maybe 25 square miles of total destruction. Those where atomic bombs and the yield is limited to about 500 kilotons. That may seem like a lot but even with that your only looking at a few hundred square miles of devastation. Israel is about 8000 square miles so it would take about 80 to get the job done.
17. Of course Israel can't do it...
TaylorT ,   Earth   (03.07.12)
...they couldn't even win a border war with Lebanon! Only fools like Ben Jabo think otherwise.

All this prodding talk to get Israel scapegoated finally sees some sensible analysis
19. #17: Israel conquered Lebanon
Israeli 2   (03.08.12)
up til the Litani River. Troops entered and sweeped the area clean. Their president cried and the fat rat hid deep in his hole...and you call this a defeat? Are you so heartless as to wish the complete anihilation of Lebanon? Come on Taylor, what are you sewing?
20. london think tank
sas ,   israel   (03.08.12)
1. probably true but..........can we wait that long???????? 2. do not TRUST Obama at all. He is not honest and only wants to remain another 4 years in the White House. he would sell his wife and daughters for that.
21. London Think Tank
MGray38 ,   Miami, USA   (03.08.12)
First, a London Think Tank is an oxymoron. Obviously Mr. Chipman failed to listen to PM Netanyahu's speech to AIPAC. Does Chipman think it was accidental the Netanyahu quoted from the U.S. War Department's reply to the WJC about bombing Auschwitz? Has Chipman that limited a strategic imagination that he doesn't account for Israel using nukes as some intelligence observers have stated recently. Does he think that Israel would only attack to slow down the Iranian program? Does he really believe that Netanyahu trusts Obama's assurances?

zionist forever   (03.08.12)
Israel can't do the job properly and for all the sabre ratting I imagine Bibi & Barak are not under any illusions on the countries capabilities and all this talk of an israeli attack is just to keep Iran on the minds of the western powers and to put pressure on Obama because Bibi wants the US to do the dirty work because they are the only ones who can do it. The assessment doesn't say anything about the idea but I personally think that after the election is over Obama will attack Iran. He knows that a nuclear Iran will lead other countries in the region to develop nuclear weapons programs and the last thing the world needs is a Middle East nuclear arms race. There is also the fact Iran is developing ICBMS so there is a possibility one day Iran would have the capability to drop a nuclear weapon on the White House lawn. December will be the big test for Obama, now he has the election out the way ( won or lost it doesn't matter ) is he going to use his new found political freedom to smash Iran or is he going to go back to his old attitude of appeasement is the best solution.

TaylorT ,   Earth   (03.08.12)
Did the US lose the Iraq war? The US conquored the entire nation, put arch-American enemy Saddam to death, killed his sons and most of his generals, set up a new government, solidified support in the Kurdish region, signed a few lucrative oil contracts where before it had none, and occupied the nation for over ten years. Did the US lose the war? Israel did none of this, but did lose over a hundred soldiers and again showed the world what a cruel nation it could be (by basically destroying much of Lebanon's civilian infrastructure.) Call it a 'win' if you'd like, but few others will. Most call it an example of Israel seeking revenge on an enemy and ending up scoring on its own goal.
26. The Above Article's Validiity
Avigdor ,   USA   (03.08.12)
Something is gong to break, warp, chip or tear gety soon. If Israel has to go it alone they will have to use tactical nuclear weapons to contaminate the Iranian sites in order to keep them from being reinhabited and reused. The US knows this, the Israelis know this and the Iranians know this. The only way to avoid this is for the US to go ahead and commit to Israeli support now. This think tank can not be thinking if they are concluding that action will not be taken this year!
27. #25 Ignorance is bliss
Phil ,   Ireland   (03.08.12)
The US did not win the Iraq war. All it did was create a different dynamic in an Islamic hotpot. America's survival was never dependent on winning the war so it isn't obvious it lost. Israel on the other hand wins every war it fights because it is still there. If it lost, it would cease to exist. Its very existence is dependent on not losing any war it fights. Your bitterness and ingratitude warp your sense of reality because you are too ashamed of your own country to admit its failings or even to admit it's where you live.

When an army is attacked from within civilian areas, infrastructure is destroyed. Much like Hamas hiding behind their own people. Talk to Hezbollah.
