Anyone who trusts Obama after his backtracking after his 2008 speech to AIPAC needs to reread history. In that speech, Obama said he was in favor of an undivided Jerusalem as the capital of Israel. He said that he was misunderstood within 24 hours of making that statement. The speech in 2008 and the latest one is meant to garner votes from US Jews. It is not directed at Israelis. My problem with Obama concerns his overall failure to take a progressive stance in foreign policy, particularly in relation to Israel. Perhaps the laughable state of the Republicans will allow Obama to return for a second term and then courageously pressure the Israeli government into making real moves towards peace instead of letting Netenyahu play around for the sake of his ego. As for Obama's 'antisemitism' I am reminded of the boy who cried wolf. In the face of real antisemitism no-one will listen to us.
