1. Work on making peace in the region.
Michael ,   California, USA   (03.11.12)
The Iron Dome will never be as good as a peace agreement. The U.S. and Vietnam are at peace, no? Germans are at peace with Poland and Russia, no? Israelis and Palestinians can also reach peace!
2. Only a defeated PLO will make peace
moshe ,   usa   (03.11.12)
We try to miss civilians, (of which more than 60%+ agree with Hamas, so are they really innocent?) and they target our school children. This is what the world calls fair. This is what Turkey and Iran call unfair to Hamas. With bombs, we should carve out a jewish star through their neighborhoods. Only indiscriminate (and cheaper) bombing will stop this. In an ideal world.
3. Golda's wisdom
Bob ,   New York, USA   (03.11.12)
To Michael from California: As Golda Meir said, there will be peace only when the Palestinians love their children more than they hate Israelis. That day is nowhere in sight. In the meantime, Israel must defend itself against these terrorist fanatics.

peace came after all the enemies were REALLY defeated like Germany was in WWII. Not before, not by "talking" and sending nice letters to them

Please come over for a visit. I'll be happy to drive you to the Gaza border and you can discuss a peace agreement with any and all Arabs/Palestinians. Do bring a strong helmet. When those peace loving Palestinians shoot their rockets, they tend to aim for civilians and you'll be vulnerable like the 1 million Israeli civilians now camping out in bomb shelters. If only peace was a shared objective. What a shame that only we want peace and they only want us dead.
7. why did you leave out a good offence? when did we stop teach
ralph   (03.11.12)
teaching that? have we forgotten what works!!!
8. Six-day War moment 2.0
Curious1   (03.12.12)
This episode may be a regular local flashpoint but the long-term consequences may be huge. The military doctrine of Hamas, Hezbollah, and Iran was based on missile offensive. What are they going to do with this huge investment into now redundant armaments? Sure, it's expensive to shoot down, but it's more expensive for them to launch these missiles, and nobody ever said that a kevlar vest is a waste of money even if it's more expensive than a bullet.

It isn't as bad as you think. If they killed 100 people, the Israeli government would have to act and establishment of a new Arab state in Judea and Samaria would no longer be possible. Since there are relatively few physical casualties, they can just lob rockets, making life impossible for civilians but giving the government an excuse not to act and letting the fantasists push for ethnic cleansing of Judea and Samaria.
10. #1 Michael - Instead of running home
BEN JABO ,   ISRAEL   (03.12.12)
to the USA, you should have stayed behind to show how peace was to be made Nothing quite like divine inspiration without the sweat that goes with it
11. how to deal with snakes
tom ,   toronto, canada   (03.12.12)
fooling around with the tail of a snake will only get you bitten. the only right way to handle a "snake" problem is to go for the head of the snake.
