1. That's just plain stupid
Sarah B ,   U.S.A. / Israel   (03.13.12)
First of all, absolutely every smidgeon of aid coming in from Israel will be siphoned off by terrorist elements, and likely none will find its way to the people of Gaza. Callous as it may sound, the people of Gaza are responsible for their own fate. If life becomes painful enough, perhaps they will do something to rid themselves of their terrorist so-called "leadership." Of course, Egypt can pick up the slack, can't it? Why won't it? And isn't that an in-house Arab problem?

What a ridiculous situation-give aid and treat their enemy and get rockets as payment.Insane situation.Get rid of our weak PM and get one who has balls. It seems the terms.
3. close the border
Real vision ,   usa   (03.13.12)
for every rocket that fires into israel, israel should close the border for a day and shut off all electricity. Do the people of gazaever thank israel for all these goods and WHO PAYS FOR THEM? We all know that hamas is probably stealing 90% of all international aid
4. Hamas has a much harder time "taxing" this aid
Zvi   (03.13.12)
It has a much easier time "taxing" stuff that comes in through the smuggling tunnels, which it controls, than to do so with aid delivered to NGOs in broad daylight. So keeping Kerem Shalom may make it more difficult for Hamas to raise money at a time when its patrons have cut it off. That's also the reason why Hamas insists on smuggling fuel through tunnels instead of accepting it through KS.
5. The gaza strip should be cut off from
jason white ,   afula, israel   (03.13.12)
Israel. We even sell them building supplies. When will it stop? Our leaders are cowards and the I.D.F. leadership should protest against sending anything into gaza, except for bombs, rockets, missiles and artillery shells.

The god of money takes precedent over morals in Israel.
7. Talk about aiding-and-abetting the enemy? This is asinine!

Dear, God...please help Israel's people. Especially, in regards to having weak and gutless leaders'. Bless the IDF. God bless, Israel and His Jerusalem! A Christian Zionist
8. Self destructing policy

Feeding the arch enemy, who want to kill you is not stupid, but crazy thing. Get Gaza arabs their aids via Egypt in the future.
9. We endanger Israeli life stupidly

And if a motar had hit the crossing.... Would they care?
10. pals are lucky that Israel takes care of them
Bad Assed Jew ,   United States   (03.13.12)
only Israel furnishes food and aid to their enemy who can't seem to manage a real cease fire. Too bad all their money and effort is only given to purchase the Iranian rockets that get them killed. Damn, the pals are dumber than shit.
11. Israel...stop hitting your headd against a
arlene   (03.13.12)
brick wall, its not going to help any world opinion. You will always be in the wrong for trying to defend your citizens. You are not like them who get away with killing each other and the world turns a blind eye, unless there is oil or another source of richness. Even if its not Israeli money paying for all these supplies, they should be stopped until the people in Gaza get up and say NO More, like those that have in this arab spring thing. For truth be known there are many many people in Gaza who are more than happy to live side by side with Israel and get on with daily life, and this is from the mouth of some Gazans I have met. The power lust of islam is a wicked thing these days!

Are you somehow under the impression that someone pays Israel for all that aid to Gaza? Guess again. Israel foots the bill in its entirety AND gives several million shekels to Gaza every month. You need to rethink your premise. There is no higher example of elevated morals than the fact that Israel trucks in hundreds of thousands of metric tons in free aid to Gaza each month. How many other countries would do that while over 11,000 missiles and 15,000 mortar shells have been fired at THEIR civilian populations?

15. 180 supply trucks entered Gaza on Monday

A sad joke - Assuming that those are 5 tons trucks they were able to deliver 0.6 kg of supplies to every Gazan.

Sarah B ,   U.S.A. / Israel   (03.13.12)
As usual, your assumptions are completely wrong. Most of the trucks carry 40 TEU containers, the balance carry 20 TEU containers -- those are the refrigerated ones, because it is not efficient to refrigerate 40 TEU containers. Either way, each container is capable of holding thousands of metric tons of supplies. But why should Israel delivery any supplies to people bent on Israel's destruction? There are plenty of petro-rich Arab states; let them look after their fellow Arabs. Good luck with that one, by the way. Most of the supplies will immediately be taken by terrorist elements; almost nothing will trickle down to the average Gazan. That's the sad joke. But what have YOU done to deliver supplies to Gaza, spit?

You are looking at palletized cargo, stupid, not containerized cargo. Don't you know the difference? Do you see any refrigerated cargo in the picture? No, because you cannot put perishable cargo on pallets. Get an education, will you? That said -- 20 TEU containers can carry 53,000 lbs of cargo. Since these containers are not ocean-going, there is no need to allow for tare mass. Similarly, 40 TEU containers can carry 67,200 lbs of cargo. What was that you were saying about "five-ton trucks?" Try doing the calculations using 20 TEU and 40 TEU containers multiplied by by 180 supply trucks (figure one-half of each container type, although in actual fact, 40 TEU containers are in prevalent use). Don't YOU feel stupid! You are so quick to blame Israel for everything -- what does the U.S. do for Gaza? The U.S. routinely sinks several hundred metric tons of grain or reduces it to cattle feed in order to maintain farm price supports. While tens of thousands of people throughout the world starve to death every day. So let's have no more loose talk about who's taking care of whom. Israel sees to the humanitarian needs in Gaza. NO ONE ELSE seems to want to be bothered, and that includes the United Nations and the Red Cross. And how do the grateful residents of Gaza thank Israel? By firing missile barrages and mortars and terrorizing innocent Israeli civilians who have never done anything to them. Were it up to me, I'd cut Gaza off in a heartbeat. There are twenty-two Arab states -- let them pick up the slack.

split ,   US   (03.13.12)
Show me where does it says that those were containers to start with? Assuming that the cargo was in containers, (read carefully) '40 TEU containers can carry 67,200 lbs of cargo', see the word "can" ? They can also contain cartons of cigarettes, instant coffee or tea bags and weight a few hundred kilos. "Were it up to me, I'd cut Gaza off in a heartbeat" - You're implying that you giving them something but in real life you just passing to them their taxes. Just let them use their air space, sea shore, rebuild their airport and get lost ,...

Go to the picture that you posted and look at the very first vehicle in line. That's a 40 TEU container, idiot. And I assure you that those containers are packed to maximum capacity, because the last thing on earth you want is a great deal of empty space in a container. It's inefficient, and dangerous not to pack it full, because weight acts as ballast. Hamas is a terrorist organization, not a state. They could have used the opportunity and the funds made available to them to do all the things you suggest. But it's not part of their plan. They just want to engage in terrorism. Israel left intact modern hydroponic farms and super-advanced greenhouses. What did Hamas do? Utilize them? Oh, no. That might actually have benefited ordinary ersatz "Palestinians" in Gaza. What Hamas did was to blow them all up and turn the sites into a terrorist training center. You're big on blather, but really light on facts.

Apparently the same idiots that gave the Temple Mount to the Waqf are still running the show in Jerusalem. Now they can save money on food so they can spend it on rockets. Absolutely brilliant.

split ,   US   (03.14.12)
That's one container and four platforms, nothing close what you suggesting and nothing that's specified in the article. "Hamas is a terrorist organization", not for Gazans, for them Hamas is duly elected goverment like it or not.

Sarah B ,   U.S.A. / Israel   (03.14.12)
And the picture shows the tiniest speck of the actual cargo that travels to Gaza from Israel on a weekly basis -- sometimes more often than that, depending upon the degree of whining from the ersatz "Palestinian" terrorist elements in Gaza. Hamas is duly elected; 'tis true. That makes all ersatz "Palestinian" civilians in Gaza terrorist collaborators. Like it or not.
