1. Getting help
Ehud ,   Tel-Aviv, Israel   (03.14.12)
Obviously Katzav the convicted rapist is getting help from the powers that be. This really does show that we are just another corrupt country in the middle east. Some things dont change.
2. it is illegal
israel israeli ,   tel aviv   (03.14.12)
Katzav refused to be bullied into complying with an illegal police demand. Hopefully, the High Court will order the immediate dismissal of Aharonovitch, the chief of police and the chief of the prison services for this grave violation of human rights and High Court rulings. Hopefully, the state will be ordered to pay damages to anyone they coerced into giving samples and to destroy all these illegal samples.
3. Extend this CRIMINAL's prison term for non-cooperation.
Michael ,   California, USA   (03.14.12)
No special privileges should be extended to Katsav. He certainly didn't treat his victims with consideration, he exploited the poor women weaknesses. Defiance from a prisoner is punishable. It is important to emphasize Katsav is a CRIMINAL, not a victim.
4. What nonsense this is. His DNA can be obtained from any
Rivkah   (03.14.12)
eating utensil he puts into his mouth or drinking cup he puts to his mouth. Why are they harassing the man?
5. Guilty at charged. An innocent man would provide a sample to
Bunnie Meyer ,   Los Angeles, CA USA   (03.14.12)
PROVE he did not commit the crime, a guilty man would do anything to avoid giving a sample to PROVE he was guilty.
6. #4 Rivkah: Harrassin the what? He is not a man!
David ,   Karmiel, Israel   (03.14.12)
He is a rapist! No doubt some of the more "religious" who believe that no law is above the Torah, should look at the penalty for the crime of rape that is defined in the Torah! By Halachaic Law he got off lightly!
7. For what purpose?
Israeli 2   (03.14.12)
They should have demanded it from him and A during the trial to obtain a match. NOW? For what purpose?
8. #7, The case is closed, nobody owes you answers.
Michael ,   California, USA   (03.14.12)
What business is it of yours to ask "why" forever? You could put all your questions forward up to the adjudication time. Now it's your time to sit quietly because the judges of the State of Israel have ruled. No rabbis, no other schmendriks, the judges of the State of Israel have ruled and it is final for this CRIME. You can work on a formal appeal through the courts, nothing else.
9. Is he afraid...
David ,   Haifa   (03.14.12)
...that he will be found guilty in other rape cases that have not been solved so far?
10. #2 WTF?
Netanya ,   Netanya   (03.14.12)
To begin with Katsav should be running to give DNA samples, since he is constantly screaming about his innocence. Secondly, there is nothing illegal to entering DNA of convicts into the database; USA and most western nations do the same thing. All convicts are on file, and if they stay clean after being released, it will save them headache later. I don't know where you information is from, but you are wrong and misguided!
11. #8: GOT ya! Didn't I? I am not asking for
Israeli 2   (03.14.12)
your apology...many are wrong like you are yet too proud to admit.
12. 6 David, Karmiel, Israel: In Scriptures, BOTH adulterers
Rivkah   (03.14.12)
are put to death, BOTH, not just the man or not just the woman, BOTH. There was no DNA evidence as in the situation with Bill Clinton and Monica Lewinsky. It was "she said, he said" which is not sufficient in Scriptures for a conviction. There must be two witnesses against an elder with corroborating evidence. Did ANYONE SEE the supposed rapes? Was it an affair that Aleph changed to rape when she was not paid when she asked to be assisted? He should have helped her as King David provided for concubines, if she was his concubine. But it appears she had sex with a number of fellows, not one.
13. katsav nonsense
jo moor   (03.14.12)
he refuses to wear prison uniform, he refuses dna sampling, he refuses to accept the guilty verdict. So refuse him in return: treble his prison sentence for a start without option of parole, refuse him visitors to bring him gifts/food etc because without prison uniform he cant leave his cell. and then put him in the refuse bin.
14. Convicted prisoner
A Jerusalemite ,   Jerusalem, Israel   (03.14.12)
The man was convicted. It doesn't matter who or what he was before, now he is a convicted criminal and should have to obey all of the rules for any other prisoner.
15. #12: You know Rivkah.....
Israeli 2   (03.14.12)
Every now and then your talkbacks shine brilliantly. This is one of them.
16. 15 Israeli 2: Thank you. Scriptures also says a woman who
Rivkah   (03.14.12)
is being raped must SCREAM or try to SCREAM. If there is no one to rescue her, she is innocent if in the city. If she does not SCREAM, she shares the guilt.
17. Problem? Get a sample from his toilet.
Arik Silverman ,   Chicago USA   (03.14.12)
You can wear rubber gloves.
18. #16: Exactly right, Rivkah! I am 100% with you on this.
Israeli 2   (03.14.12)
19. 15I couldn't agree with you more. A great injustice was done
Levi ,   Israel   (03.14.12)
The judges are not prophets and have no proof whatsoever that he committed the crime.
20. #19, The case is closed, understand?File an appeal if u want
Michael ,   California, USA   (03.15.12)
There is nothing more to talk about short of a formal appeal in court. The State of Israel has ruled through it judges. Stop wasting the hot air, calm down, look somewhere else for the good deeds you wish to perform. Katsav is a cheap criminal and should be left alone to sit out the short prison term they gave him.
21. Would he like an expresso machine as well ?
Haim ,   TA   (03.15.12)
Im sorry a television in the religious wing? Why wouold such a religious man as Katsav want a television i mean all those secular programs and women news readers showing their arms, surely this is not appropriate for such a religious man?
22. Don't rule in Israel from US
Geula ,   Israel   (03.15.12)
I am sick and tired from Americans diving us their ruling on how we should live our lives. Look what you have done with your own country: ghost streets and ghost cities, prozac in every household and so on. We are different - we have mercy and respect to human dignity and our hearts are not full of hatred. Let him be!
