Chuck ,   SF, USA   (03.15.12)
33. # 25 Ari until, a terrorist or a kidnapper tries using them
Bad Assed Jew ,   United States   (03.15.12)
as hostages or, worse, as fatal victims of the crime of being born Jewish. One magic moment on TV not long ago, Erdogen was thrown from a gorgeous white horse and, when on the ground, one of it's rear hoofs landed on his package.... Sometimes, we get to see the best 'parts. ( Pardon the pun, I just HAD to )
34. Erdogan, Turkey's mistake.
yossi   (03.15.12)
When you start behaving like a normal human being, you will see Israelis comming back in droves.Until then you should tone down or keeps your overused, boring politics for yourself.
35. Turkey's stuffed
Nice bloke ,   Rochdale, UK   (03.15.12)
Turkey's economy is about to go belly up because the artificial boom (created by credit) the country has been experiencing is about to burst. How convenient to start a song and dance about Israel..
36. I seem to remember that Turkey said
meghan ,   israel   (03.15.12)
they have enough tourism and dont need ours....what happened??? No Iranians, no Europeans, ahhh shame Look properly at goods on supermarkets shelves, icluding the religiously owned ones, many product come from Turkey and they are cheaper than our own makes. Our companies must lower prices or people will buy "Made in Turkey" if it saves money, especially those with big families or pensioners. Hard to embargo when you can't pay bills
37. Attacks by Iran and Hezbollah
ltrail ,   United States   (03.15.12)
I would rely more on Israeli intelligence any day, than Turkey's. Especially since Turkey is a muslim country in the first place. Dah.
38. it was because the turks refused to highten security
jack bauer   (03.15.12)
after they had been warned of plots against an israeli airline. i see no point in funding a country that is daily becoming more of an enemy to israel and more islamonazi in behavior
39. To: Nice bloke at No. 35
Sarah B ,   U.S.A. / Israel   (03.15.12)
Actually, Turkey's economy has been circling the bowl for quite a while. Couldn't happen to a nicer bunch of Islamofascists. But Turkey made its bed; now it has to lie in it. No chance of joining the European Union; about to be booted out of NATO. Keeping in mind that Erdogan, who has terminal cancer, is too busy lining his pockets and offshore bank accounts to care much about what happens to Turkey.
40. To: No. 29
Sarah B ,   U.S.A. / Israel   (03.15.12)
Arrogance? What arrogance? I think you are confusing self-defense with arrogance. The two are very different, although I do recognize that there are a great many people in the world who think that the very idea of the Jewish people having a state of their own is the "height" of arrogance. Not to mention actually having the -- GASP -- temerity to defend that state from violent terrorists who wish to destroy it. You tipped your hand, by the way. You are no different from any other common garden-variety anti-Semite. Have you ever asked yourself why a Swede would want to visit Sqaw Valley or Snowbird just in order to go skiing? Are there no mountains in Sweden?
41. Meghan
Alice, The Proud Jew ,   Canada   (03.15.12)
The products made in Turkey, although less expensives than Israeli products, can stay in their shelves. I also have a big family but I only buy Blue an White, Israel.
42. Funny, they want Israeli tourist money...
Carl ,   USA   (03.15.12)
but no Israel! Can't really have it both ways.
43. It is not Israeli tourists are important
Musa ,   İstanbul/Turkey   (03.15.12)
Do not get us wrong, if we were outraged that much, that's because of the lies that as if we would attack Israeli tourists in Turkey, not because we want you in Turkey, or your money. If you want to boycott Turkey out of political concerns, that's fine. But Turkey is no Israel executing civilians.
44. Musa from Istanbul,
David Israel ,   New York, USA   (03.15.12)
Who executed Hrant Dink? Who ordered it? Now that Nedim Sener is out of Silivri he may want to talk about if f he dares. Who burned the Alevi Turks Inside the Madmak Hotel? What happened to the suspects that were identified? Wasn't this an awful deliberate planned execution of innocent people that included political satirist Aziz Nesin who survived the fire ? Isn't it worse that your government knowing who the suspects are was never able to catch them even when they were applying for drivers licenses and making big weddings? Israel was attacked with hundreds of rockets the other day. They have the right to defend their citizens. Self defense s not similar to the Madimak murders that your compatriots did to their own people.
45. "Turks claim announcement was revenge on Erdogan's statement
William ,   Israel   (03.15.12)
No matter what the timing of Israel's announcement it would have been received as "revenge" on Erdogan's statements because he's constantly making statements against Israel.
46. #43- no one said Turks would execute Israelis
William ,   Israel   (03.15.12)
The article clearly states that Iran and Hizbullah are looking to commit terrorism against Israelis in Turkey, and since Turkey isn't doing much to raise security and combat it, Israel was forced to issue a travel warning. This comes on the heels of Iranian-supported attacks (and would-be attacks) in Thailand, India, and Azerbaijan.
47. To: No. 43
Sarah B ,   U.S.A. / Israel   (03.15.12)
"But Turkey is no Israel executing civilians." First of all, Israel doesn't execute civilians. Secondly, I suspect that there is no shortage of Armenian people and Kurdish people that would disagree with your statement.
48. Alice #41 well bully for you, but many
arlene   (03.15.12)
low income families will opt for the cheaper product, and its kosher.
49. May god bless you Erdogan, free pales
Spanish Love Turkey ,   Spain   (03.16.12)
50. Cheap Propaganda
Musa ,   İstanbul/Turkey   (03.16.12)
Everybody knows that Turkey does not kill Kurds, but the terrorists who kill people regardless of their ethnic, religious, etc. background. And everybody knows what the Turks says about the Armenian issue. But, even the resolutions that approved by some parliaments, do no hold Turkey of today responsible in any way. But, Israel officially carried out an illegal raid on a civilian ship in international waters, executed 9 civilians, physically and psychologically injured more, kidnapped passengers, etc. Nobody believes what you say about Mavi Marmara, or the cheap propaganda tactics you try to follow against Turkey now, except Israelis and Evangelist cults.
51. #40
Intedi Nensak ,   Stockholm, Sweden   (03.16.12)
The arrogance of calling anyone who dares to question what the hell they're doing an anti semite because obviously the chosen people mustn't be questioned. I honestly don't think any swedes even know what squaw valley or snowbird are, i had to google it myself i've never heard about it in my life, maybe swedes living in the US visit it but there's hardly a steady stream of tourists coming all the way from Sweden to visit it. There are many well visited ski resorts in Sweden and when we travel abroad for skiing it's usually to France or Austria, where there are even better ski resorts. The difference is though, that the french and austrians don't hate our guts :)
52. Musa the fact is
David Israel ,   New York, USA   (03.16.12)
1. Only 2 days ago the violent murderers of the Alevi Turks inside the Madimak Hotel were cleared from being tried for the atrocities that they did. Even Hurriyet's Ahmet Hakan apologized for what he was thinking when it had happened. 2. While you claim that Kurts are terrorizing you to justify the actions of the TSK, just google teh names of Dorit Benisian, Yuval Abebeh, the Sbarro attack, Dolphinarium attack, bus #51 and then put your hand ibn your heart (Elini vicdanina koy as they say in Turkish) and then think a little bit. Musa dostum I understand you very well. You hate Jews and you will always find something to blame them. I grew up in Izmir. People like you only make us stronger.
53. Intendi Nensak
David Israel ,   New York, USA   (03.16.12)
I have been to every famous beach from Rome to St Tropez. None can even come close to Hawaii's hapuna or Oahu's Lanikai even Florida's Clearwater St. Pete beaches. And believe me there are many Nordic tourist every time I am visiting these places including very happy Swedes. I also skii'd in many places in France, Switzerland and Austria. They are beautiful but not better then Jackson Whole or Utah
54. Poor Turks are in a Rage Again.
Norman ,   Minneapolis, MN, USA   (03.16.12)
Maybe they need some anger-management training.
55. David Israel, the fact is
Musa ,   İstanbul/Turkey   (03.17.12)
They are not cleared of guilt for the crime but the charges expired under the statute of limitations. If you grew up in İzmir, and follow Turkish news, then you should have known this fact. So, it is rather, "koynumuzda yılan beslemişiz". And again, if you grew up in İzmir, Turkey, you should have known that no Turks, except a bunch of idiots, blame all Kurds. You do know that we say it is the PKK and its ancillary organizations who are to be blamed, they do also terrorize Kurdish people. What is more, no Turks would justify any actions against civilians. However, I bet the victim ratio or “eye for an eye” is now up to more than 100 Palestinians dead per Israeli killed. It is you, who should put his hand to his heart, that's if you had one.
56. Musa who are you kidding?
David Israel ,   New York, USA   (03.17.12)
Statute of limitation? What about statute of limitation for Kenan Evren? Is it only when it is convenient? The Madimak incident was a brutal criminal act where a bunch of ultra religious screamed Islamic slogans and burned the hotel killing many Alevi's The Police, the government knew the names of the perpetrators and could catch them. However the police department issued passports to some so that they can escape and never issued international red bulletin. Some of them received drivers licenses and marriage licenses living freely in Turkey but the Police that issued the Drivers license could not catch them. Well Musa if you think I am a snake think about this: In 1980 ies in New York I was among the Turkish Jews who were contacting US politicians influencing them to remove the US embargo to Turkey that was established in 1974. I personally spoke to late Geraldine Ferraro and current representative Acgerman. It was not easy. At that time the Turkish association in USA was so much in disarray that some even were acting against us but we succeeded. Just remember this: If it was not for the snake that you fed (meaning me) you would still be under the US embargo in need of 70 cents to pay foreign debt. Now can I call you Nankor? Musa dostum. Your real friends in the region are The Israelis but unfortunately your government has a different agenda. Look at all their so called friends? Syria's Assad once best friend is now an enemy, Khaddafi once friend now dead with the help of AKP, Iran is friend but teh US radar is installed in Kurecik against Iran. Does Turkey under AKP have any friends?
57. And Musa one more thing
David Israel ,   New York, USA   (03.17.12)
Israel hs always been the best friend of Turkey. Even at this difficult time has not done any drastik things keeping the door open for the future. One example: These days Turkey is welcoming the leader of Hamas Khaleed Meshaal. Today he was welcomed by president Gul. This to Israel is equivalent of Israel welcoming Abdullah Ocalan or Mahmut karayilan. How would you feel If Israel did that?
58. Musa Turkish Penal law article 77
David Israel ,   New York, USA   (03.17.12)
Here is the article 77 of the Turkish penal law: Asagidaki fiillerin, siyasal, felsefi, irki veya dini saiklerle toplumun bir kesimine karsi bir plan dogrultusunda sistemli olarak islenmesi, insanliga karsi bir suc olusturur: a) Kasten oldurme, b) kasten yaralama, c)Iskence, ezityet veya kolelestirme. This is saying that a) deliberately killing b)deliberately wounding c)Torturing, abusing or enslavement : against a group for their political, philosophical, religious reasons are considered a crime against humanity. These crimes are immune from statute of limitations. As you see Musa AKP dictatorship applies laws when they are convenient to them and ignore if they are not convenient. Shall I also remiond you of the Deniz feneri case?
59. I am not kidding, David...
Musa ,   İstanbul/Turkey   (03.17.12)
It has been 30 years since they were killed in Madimak, and the court sentenced thirty-three of the suspects to life in prison. Only the charges against five expired under the statute of limitations, because there is not sufficient proof for the court to sencentece him. Also, I do not know you, or your past, all I know is either you know very little about the things you are talking about, or you deliberately distort the reality. And if you really helped Turkey somehow, there is no way I would not appreciate it. However, even if Israelis are (or were) our friends, we cannot turn a blind eye to the worng things our friends do. Israel left almost no place for Palestinians to live on. And the ratio shows it very clear that Israel does not value human lives, if they are not Jews. Have you ever heard of things like Turkish settlers in Eastern Turkey, or Turkey destroying the homes of terrorists' family members, or hitting hospitals?
60. Do the "turks", and the " it" really exist ??
eddie ,   south africa   (04.09.12)
who is the "THE" and the" IT" in the above statement in the report "the turks claim" "it is also claimed". Are these read people or a figment of the media"s imagination ??
