1. Pathetic
Yoav ,   Vancouver   (03.15.12)
Israel needs to grow some balls and use cheaper and more psychologically damaging force against these organizations. Air-force precision attacks are not enough. Deploy six mortar teams along the gaza strip and an artillery brigade situated north of the strip and facing south. In a matter of hours they could shell the infrastructure and damage all of it significantly. Along with the Air-force precision attacks it will create deterrence. Predator drones should be purchased and used in the future.
2. "Temper" our response
Sarah B ,   U.S.A. / Israel   (03.15.12)
Oh, I don't think so. We've seen how the Egyptians have gone after terrorists that damage the pipeline, and act aggressively in the Sinai. No proportion there -- why should Israel feel constrained? The only thing the ersatz "Palestinians" understand is strength. The only language they speak is violence. They have now violated the cease-fire -- which THEY begged for -- on multiple occasions. This game is getting boring. Pound Gaza; pound it hard, and see if that doesn't get the point across far better.
3. More than a single missile
Daniel ,   Rehovot, Israel   (03.15.12)
I live in earshot of the missiles that fall into the Ashdod regions and unless mistaken by the sounds of thunder, was pretty sure that about 10 or so missiles were fired towards the Ashod region today during the morning and early afternoon. Could anyone from Ashdod please clarify? It does not seem to be in the news.
4. Ceasefire? Is there a Ceasefire?
Chaim ,   Arad   (03.15.12)
5. to # 4 and others
Ellen ,   Netanya/NYC   (03.15.12)
# 4--OF course there is a ceasefire--Israel has ceased firing back at Gaza!! Seriously--Israel needs to go in and level Gaza. What needs to be done before a proper response is made. Does a rocket need to do a direct hit and kill multiple people before Israeli leaders say Enough! The Palys see Israel as a weakling and until that view is changed people in the South will be spending their time running in and out of shelters.
6. iran is correct about the israeli air force
iraj   (03.15.12)
hitting empty buildings or a tunnel and targeting 1 rocket launcher is nothing , zero and israel's air force reprisals are weak, timid and worth nothing. The gazans laugh when they see the planes. This goes back to olmert and halutz int he use of the air force absolutely does not impress the arabs. What is wrong with the jews??!! The are being whacked by gazan missiles offending a million israelis and the response from israel is pathetic. I am tired, real tired of saying this but enough is enough. the people of israel demand the same. Yet all we get are hesitations and limp reprisals against gaza. hit 5 government buildings, wipe out 30 gas stations, 5 markets, the fishing docks and 3 police stations.
7. the antichrist
cristian ,   argentina   (03.15.12)
the antichrist has acquired a variety of meanings such as it also extends to any person who knowing or not refuses to consider that he is the christ so claiming one of not biblical character also included in this designation to that which denies his divinity or its resurrection relegating it to the shape of its human reality, the antichrist is anyone, ideology and political or economic system that threatens the life and human rights, the antichrists to those characters who were indicted for alleged different from beliefs, the antichrist will be passing through christ fighting against him, changing the teachings of the gospels through its new doctrine and deny the divinity of christ denied that he was,in eschatology before the arrival of him a character that precedes the arrival of the christ there is an impostor similar who chase the believers, devastating all dominions, the christ after his second arrival helped by him ended up together with the opposite which is the very antichrist, the antichrist is identified it with the devil incarnate in human to begin armageddon
8. To: Chaim at No. 4
Sarah B ,   U.S.A. / Israel   (03.15.12)
No, there is no cease-fire. The ersatz "Palestinian" terrorist elements in Gaza unilaterally abrogated it almost immediately, and have continued to violate it, repeatedly. Israel, therefore, is not bound by this mythical cease-fire, either.
9. Iron Dome is not the answer. Victory IS the answer.
Chaim ,   Israel   (03.15.12)
Israel has to get back to the tactics that made us victorious and universally respected, if not loved. Take the offensive and pound our enemies till they surrender or are destroyed. Iron Dome is not the answer. Defense is not the answer. Total victory IS the answer! As Harry Truman put it, "Take the war to the enemy. Never let them bring it to you". As General Patton put it, "There is no substitute for victory".
10. Islamic terrorist must be removed..
Beary White ,   Norway   (03.15.12)
As said before, IDF should send a rocket into the apartment of a hamass-member when a rocket is fired from the strip into Israel. I guess they will stop when hamass has schrunk!!!
11. give them their last word and let it be
Barney ,   USA   (03.15.12)
their last word.
12. Don't listen to Egypt. And stop calling it a ceasefire!
Raymond in DC ,   Washington, USA   (03.15.12)
Why, when Egypt is daily lambasting Israel, allowing the repeated destruction of the gas pipeline, and calling to "revise" the peace treaty, is Israel paying any attention to what Egypt wants? Let them pressure their friends in Gaza to stop firing. And please, stop talking about a ceasefire - never mind a "fragile" one - as if it's in effect. By definition, as long as the other side is engaged in hostilities, there is no ceasefire. So stop pretending there is. And someone please tell me why IAF copters are firing at an open area! The very fact that Israeli responses in the first days resulted in fatalities among the enemy ranks and NONE in the last two days tells me Israel - not the enemy - is being deterred.
13. ISRAEL RESPONSIBLE for missiles
RAYS ,   USA   (03.15.12)
Israel' feeble response to Gazan missiles causes MORE attacks. A response should be at Gazan infrastructure. Take out all their petrol stations in one attack and tell them next attack will take out all their electrical service (for example) and I am sure the attacks will crease. Killing a few terrorists will not stop attacks. Human lives do not rate high on people who send their children as bmbs.
14. and what will israel do tonight ?
stephane ,   france   (03.15.12)
israel will continue to strike the sand of gaza and empty tunnels ? israel will kill maybe only 1 or 2 terrorists ? these kind of retaliation are not retaliation ! this is stupid ! israel should answer VERY STRONG to each kassam even if there is " no damage or casualies " ! israel should retaliate like if this kassam killed innocent civilians because this is exactly the goal of the terrorists of gaza !
15. What is this absurd BS?
Cameron ,   USA   (03.15.12)
These barbarians are dropping rockets on your turf day & night. God knows you spend enough time bragging & patting yourselves on the back about what a heavy crew you are, but this trash keep reaching across to put their hand upside your face. Remember thy honor and man up!
16. Grads shot at Israel
Don ,   Indy USA   (03.15.12)
Israel military again looking like cowards. Bullies like cowards. I always thought BiBi had a pair of balls, but now I am not so sure.
17. War
Don ,   Indy USA   (03.15.12)
Does Israel not understand that when rockets are fired at you it means WAR ??
18. COMIC RELIEF
DAVID ,   JUDEA   (03.16.12)
the media delivers free entertainment, what is that they write" a brittle ceasefire" , very funny, it is about being totally out of touch with reality. Hallo there is no ceasefire and there won't one, it is not the goal of our terrorist buddies out there. In the end it is just pure arrogance to treat them with a logic we think is normal. It is sad that our leaders fool themselves, with so many enemies around us.
19. To: No. 15
Sarah B ,   U.S.A. / Israel   (03.16.12)
We do not brag, and we do not "pat ourselves on the back." We know full well the extent of the punishment that we can visit upon ANY country (that would include the United States, by the way, just so you are aware). Push us far enough, and you will discover exactly the extent of the pain. "Man up?" How? The way the Irish did with respect to the six northern counties? Yeah, right. Stuff it, Cameron. Your sh*t is getting old, tired and REALLY boring.
20. #7
The Bald Scotsman ,   Medford, USA   (03.16.12)
#7 What the hell are you talking about? May your god go with you.
21. I no understand why Palestinian friend no keep ceasefire
Ehud Barak   (03.16.12)
Why you lie to us Palestinian friends? I just don't understand it...
22. all of Israel turned into a Warsaw ghetto
CHAIM.S 54ST. ,   BROOKYN NY   (03.16.12)
this criminally insane leftist pathetic cowardly government has turned all of Israel into a new Warsaw Ghetto, where hundreds of thousands of men women and children are forced to hide in underground bunkers, and hundreds of thousands children cannot go to school, because this traitorous self hating cowardly regime will not defend them, not since the holocaust have jews been in this situation,IS THIS WHY JEWS HAD TO COME BACK TO THEIR HOMELAND AFTER 1900 YRS?
23. Time to retake Gaza from Iran occupation
Brod ,   USA   (03.16.12)
Israel should do a one-day lightning operation to retake Gaza from fanatical Iranian Islamist-Jihadist occupation that has been raining Israel with rocket attacks. Their goal is to invade Israel by way of rocket attack terrorism, demoralizing Israel's population to leave the country so that they can invade Israel. Israel must not allow itself to be a sitting duck to these foreign invaders who are driven by Islamist Jihadism. They are hellbent on the pathway of destruction as clearly spelled out by their Charter, School Textbooks and Maps. It is time for Israel to act now. Its Generals should not be allowed to travel as external forces are working so hard to distract Israel from defending itself from existential threat.
24. one sided cease fire as always
Larry ,   Los Angeles   (03.16.12)
every time the arabs do this, and this is not the first time, they do not stop immediately. this is their method of teaching us a lesson, that they are not finished with us yet. but we never learn. we have to be the goody goodies that simply cry and point out how the bully has hurt us instead of beating the shit out of the bully.
25. "Truce" in Arabic means less firing not a cease fire...!!
Jehudah Ben-Israel ,   Qatzrin, Israel   (03.16.12)
26. ceasefire=(let's say this slooowly) when they CEASE FIRING.
(03.16.12)
"Brittle?" Broken!
27. Shame! Communities bombarded, front page features Obama?
Miron ,   USA   (03.16.12)
28. Sarah of #19
Cameron ,   USA   (03.16.12)
Well good, I am glad to hear of it. We balance eachother out. Lord knows I am bloody weary of you running off about "ersatz Palestinians" and the "heavy hand" Israel is gonna lay on this situation or that one. Truly tired unto the death of the same endless, over-kill Zealot/Zionist script you read from, demagogue. It increasingly has a ridiculous quality to it amid these times & events.
29. Aren't you glad there's a truce, a cease fire?
Bad Assed Jew ,   United States   (03.16.12)
I can't imagine what it would be without the supposed agreement NOT to fire more rockets into Israel. If the pals can't keep their word, why would Israel treat them with kid gloves? Egypt is just another excuse to placate obama. VOTE ROMNEY!
30. # 20 Bald Scotsman re: # 7
Bad Assed Jew ,   United States   (03.16.12)
Looks like he's a recovering catholic. Poor dear, he doesn't yet know that many identify the pope as "The man of perdition". Or, " the man, the beast, the number ". This is the unfortunate result.
