David ,   New York, NY   (03.17.12)
Too bad it's not in 3D so I could enjoy the video even more. Please try to make that technology available for specific videos which will bring your readers added enjoyment. If we don't own the special glassses (I do) we'll go out and get a pair. They're not expensive at all.
35. News?
Bob ,   New York USA   (03.17.12)
Every journalism student learns that when a man bites a dog, it's news; when a dog bites a man, it's not news. But these days, the rules seems to have changed. If it's an Israeli dog, it's a front page headline.

No, other way around. The animal rights activists would rejoice. It's the "human rights" activists that would protest. Evidently, it's perfectly alright for Islamofascist states to lop off people's hands. Not so alright if a dog does it under far worthier circumstances! Still, it is worth remembering that a pit bull clamps down with nearly as much force as a great white shark. Woof!

Mouthwash? Oketz needs rabies shots! He latched onto an ersatz "Palestinian" terrorist. Probably should give Oketz some distemper shots as well, in view of whom he bit. Thanks for pointing out the true time frame.
38. I am disappointed. What did you do you your

police. In US anyone resisting arrest would've been put down so hard you would've needed a couple of crowbars to pry'em out of the pavement. Tfeh!
39. Pity they didn't bite Yonatan Pollak, ass!

40. Oh great jihadi warriors...screaming like babies.
EZRA THE PROUD JEW ,   USA-ISRAEL   (03.17.12)
From a dog!!!! LOL! I must admit, however, that the dog trainer STINKS. Any decent police dog would have let go immediately upon command. This makes the IDF look stupid: it should have been a quick take down and arrest, not this long drawn out affair with the pal warrior screaming like a little girl, although I have NO sympathy for such knuckle dragging idiots. You can see these pals 'working' their 'push and shove' tactic that is intended to look 'peaceful'. LOL! But the IDF was having none of that. Good Job IDF! (But please; get a proper dog trainer for pete's sake; this dog is a dummy). And for the pals: GIVE UP ALREADY; YOU LOST A LOOOOOOONG TIME AGO. NOW YOU'RE JUST MAKING ASSES OUT OF YOURSELVES. (As if that's going to get through to them! NOT!) LOL!.

44. where are the pictures showing
(03.17.12)
that this arab individual THREW LARGE ROCKS AT THE IDF ON PURPOSE TO HARM THEM. THIS WAS NOT A PEACEFUL PROTEST. IT WAS AGAIN AN ARAB INSTIGATION IN ORDER TO TAKE PICTURES..... from the moment the dig attacked rather than showing WHY THE DOG ATTACKED....REASON...STONE THROWING AND ENDANGERMENT OF THE IDF TROOPS. this is typical pallywood where the reason is omitted and the reaction is always filmed not in context ever. oeace now and pollack are experts at these pallywood videos. nothing is ever in context. it's as if all of a sudden the dog chases and bites for no reason. we all know that this is precisely why the camera started filming AFTER THE ROCKS WERE THROWN BY THESE VIOLENT PEOPLE AND THAT IT WAS NOT A PEACEFUL PROTEST AT ALL.
45. these people are enemies; should be treated as such
rick ,   walnut creek   (03.17.12)
the dog treated this enemy too gently.
46. HHhmm, Dogs for Roadside Rock Throwers?
Neshi ,   SF, CA, USA   (03.17.12)
I think it would be an excellent idea for the police/IDF to use these dogs at the roadside places where Palis throwing rocks at cars is a popular passtime. Maybe they would think twice before trying to murder Jews if they get bitten a few times! Kol HaKavod to the dog for doing a great job!
47. not even newsworthy
mark ,   Mazkeret Batya   (03.17.12)
quite pathetic to even write this article. next we will have articles like "Boo Hoo - an Israeli soldier shouted at me!" Get real

49. The usual disgusting reporting
Josh Felter   (03.17.12)
Pollak is not "left-wing", but an enemy agent and he himself does not hide it. He routinely lies and cheats. But this media apparently believes him and his lies. But on other occasions certain people are demonized as "far-right" and such lies, but not the opposing side. Discredited!
50. Poorly trained soldiers, if you ask me.
(03.17.12)
Two dog handlers need ten minutes to make that dog let go? Looks as if dog and soldiers need a little bit more training. IDF wants to attack Iran and these headless chicken can't even handle a dog, not to mention a few demonstrators.
51. useless to both sides!
Steve ,   USA   (03.17.12)
Perhaps if these protesters had any sort of work ethic and were involved in a peaceful and productive activity (read JOB) instead of aggressively protesting for their dubious cause they might actually achieve something positive for their "society".
52. to #28
Yosef Y ,   USA   (03.17.12)
Right on , Sam in UK., There is a Russian proverb: (in translation: "To a dog, dog' death" and I do not mean Oketz, but the multitudes of "peaceful" demonstrators - they will get theirs, sooner or later - but they do not know it, as Oketz is a bit smarter and higher on the evolutionary scale.
53. I hope that the dog didn't get hurt....
Justin Sheen ,   LA US   (03.17.12)
Lovely looking dog.He did a good job....
54. To: Ezra at No. 40
Sarah B ,   U.S.A. / Israel   (03.17.12)
Not entirely accurate. Police dogs are not trained to let go on command. They are trained to let go when their target stops struggling and is restrained. The theory behind that is that someone could be holding a gun to the handler's head and ordering him to give a command to let go. Oketz did precisely what he was well trained to do -- when the situation was stabilized; when the interfering uncle had been handcuffed and neutralized; when the terrorist stopped struggling -- Oketz immediately let go. And he was holding on; not biting with malicious intent. The article states that the terrorist was treated at the scene. If a German shepherd clamps down with an intent to do harm, not merely restrain, this terrorist would have need stitches. Lots of them. Ever see the canine teeth on a shepherd? Oketz was holding on with a soft mouth. Job VERY well done.

Deavman you show afew sign of sense of guilt :) Firstly the dog let on desmopntartors on porpose while dealing with crowd security forces simply cant mistakenly let the dog go :) secondly whats easiy noticable and refutes claims of idf being most moral army is the standing by soldiers waiting for some time and stopping 2 of other man to rescue other guy palestinains should be greatefull that they were not killed probbaly many of you thinks lıke that and again miraculously from time to time i agree with ya ;) ask for sympathy of world again and see what response you will get u might pat on the back eachother in israel but outside of those borders people wievs you in quite diffrent style everyone is responsible for what happens them goes for palestenians and goes for you kol hakavod :)
56. #40 - EZRA
Devorah   (03.17.12)
Sarah is right. You can see that Oketz's mouth is soft, and he is not harming his target. Have you ever seen a hard takedown using a German Shepherd with steel-reinforced upper and lower canines? It's a thing of beauty.
57. To: Mark at No. 47
Sarah B ,   U.S.A. / Israel   (03.17.12)
Very newsworthy if you contrast the statements of the ersatz "Palestinians" with what is clearly obvious from the film clip. Each of the soldiers had a rifle; none of them used it. The dog was not turned loose at random, but was ordered to restrain a specific individual (probably the ringleader; definitely a particularly violent protester). The uncle was ordered repeatedly to stop resisting and failed to do so -- which in most countries serves as justification for use of deadly force. That did not happen here. Oketz did not restrain his target for ten minutes, but only as long as it took for the situation to come under control (about two minutes). He used a soft mouth hold -- he could have torn the terrorist's arm from its socket, had he so chosen -- and immediately released once the situation had stabilized. A lot of violent ersatz "Palestinian" liars, leveling wild and clearly false accusations. A great deal of Israeli restraint. Works for me.
58. To: No. 55
Sarah B ,   U.S.A. / Israel   (03.17.12)
The film clip also shows that each of the soldiers called to disperse the violent and rioting ersatz "Palestinians" carried a rifle. Not a single soldier used his. You clearly do not know anything about K-9 units, or you would know that the dog responds only to his handler. And only when the dog is certain that the handler is no longer in danger. You are correct that the ersatz "Palestinian" terrorist was not killed. That could easily have been the case, but clearly the dog was never ordered to go for the terrorist's neck. That would have ended things in very short order. All in all, a remarkable degree of restraint by both the K-9, his handler and Israeli troops. You are so colored by your bias against Jews and Israel that you fail to see the truth. And the facts. Pepper spray, a soft-mouthed dog exercising a non-lethal restraint. I wonder if Kurds are ever treated so tolerantly by the Turkish military. Judging from verified reports of incidents involving the Turkish army and peaceful Kurdish civilians -- I believe not. Please do keep in mind that there were heavily armed Israeli soldiers, violent rock-throwing ersatz "Palestinians" and a dog that is perfectly capable of slicing through a carotid artery or jugular vein. Your post is really an appalling demonstration of complete imbecility. I agree with your last statement, however. Kol ha'Kavod l'Tzahal! And that includes Oketz.

wow IDF armed to the teeth with state of the art weapons, technology, intellegence, training, and now dogs, really shows how mighty they are when facing rock throwers, reallllllll mennnnnnn, David and Goliath but a bit more the Palestininas are test subjects to the mighty Israeli security industry, and now we export security dogs to dictators in Latin America, Africa and drug lords, Israel hmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm, give the Palestinians a cut of this business after all they are all R&D inputs
