A tragic event, to be sure, but the managers will be prosecuted and the law will prevail. Should any of the elderly injured in the fire die as a result, the charges will include depraved indifference and manslaughter. Families will have wrongful death suits. Of course, if Israel didn't have to spend so much time, energy and money combating the violent terrorist rabble that surrounds us, there would be more time and attention devoted to ensuring the proper care of our elderly. It must suck to be ignorant you, at any age, in any place.

Contemplate the possibility that they would have been, were it not for the fact that Israel's social services resources are being strained to the breaking point by Sudanese economic "refugees." It's not just the elderly that have suffered as a result, either. Please also keep in mind that elderly and infirm people have difficulty adjusting to change in routine, and uprooting them would have presented considerable difficulties. I'm not condoning it -- I find the whole thing appalling -- but I am sure that greater attention would have been paid had not social service agency personnel not been up to their eyeballs in incredibly needy Sudanese.

I disagree entirely with your premise. While the social services are under subsidized without a doubt, it is because most of the moneys available are being spent on settlements that the country doesn't want or need.

As much as I would like to pounce on the owners of the retirement home and the causes of what happened, let's just wait a little longer.

a referendum might help. Until then you take your own wishes for the country s wishes.

9. 7 , again a referendum !
Charles ,   Petach Tikva   (03.18.12)
The people have ELECTED the Knesseth members . It's what the country wants . Most of the settlements are unnecessary , are only "dormitories" for people working in other places .
10. Were they waiting for help from above ?
Charles ,   Petach Tiukva   (03.18.12)
Did their 'shema ..." help ? Sad to say NO . They were not lucky , sad story . Refuah Shelema to all of them .

Israel does indeed want and need the settlements. Have you noticed which parties are gaining political strength and which are losing it?
12. 10 Who says they are religious?
ORA ,   JERUSALEM   (03.18.12)
Religious elderly are mostly cared at home with their children.
