You coudl not get a more useless ass kissing defence minister.
2. Suspicious
Joe Sombrero ,   USA   (03.19.12)
This after selling his apartment last week to a so called foreign company foreign company as per news articles and making a handsome profit..
3. barak talks too much
moron ,   galut   (03.19.12)
obviously relations with u.s. are an issue but they want to deny any role if they can...real problem is israel's outsourcing its security as it did to the romans and disunity in jewish world as in ancient times...barak should say less and do more!
4. Barak: A Complete Idiot!
Jake Stone ,   USA   (03.19.12)
Israel needs to start relying on God and not the godless Obama Administration. And for Barak to treat this delicate matter as a political football for the sake of Obama's re-election concerns, is disgusting, because Obama could care less about Israel's political or physical well-being. Barak is a weak, godless man who doesn't deserve the position he holds. This goes for any Israeli leader who puts Obama's political aspirarations before their own country's national security. God bless, Israel!
5. Now Obama, Hillary, Panetta, and Dempsey can shut their yaps
Noodles ,   Coney Island   (03.19.12)
6. Barak
(03.19.12)
Cynics would say that Barak has 26.5 million good reasons to show sensitivity to Obama's reelection campaign.
7. this cringer doesn't dare to deal with Qassams,Iran's too
ab   (03.19.12)
much for him and Bambi has a mole inside of the Israeli Goverment
8. This Barak is a shame
Frank ,   Canada   (03.19.12)
Who cares of Hussein Obama sensitivity? Does he shown any sensitivity to Israel during these last three years? Does he shown any sensitivity for the Arab allies he betrayed? Barak must resign. A DM is in charge of doing what has to be done, not to protect an hostile POTUS
9. Barack is saying
Israeli 2   (03.19.12)
1) The urgency to strike Iran is really not present......or.... 2) The American elections are more important than the safety of Israel... OR... 3) Both...In other words: קשקוש נתניהו
10. Let me explain what kind of election problems they mean.
Milk D ,   East/Usa   (03.19.12)
To everyone saying to hell with Obamas election, attack Iran now. Let me explain why Bibi and Barak dont say Obama explicitly is why we need to be sensitive to the US elections. Its because he knows like the US citizens know. (like me) if its a republican, or democrat in office when Israel attacks Iran..they better not come out on Israels side. No matter who is in the white house, no matter who it is. They better not say " oh please US taxpayer, dont be mad at $8 a gallon gas"...that they would run him and EVERY senator who stands with him out of town. And that goes especially for republicans. So let me sum up for you... The sensitivities that Barak is referring to is " as long as the US sabre rattlles the US politician is safe, but the second he gets on board with an attack against Iran he will be thrown out" No matter WHO it is.
11. Israel must change its Soup of the Day.:
Daniel Lerner ,   Montevideo - Uruguai   (03.19.12)
No more Marak barak! This arch-arrogant & incompetent, has run his course. Not many are aware that among inumerous vital blunders, he vetoed more than once, the purchase of the first 3 Dolphin subs, which are Israel's paramount deterrence against that iranian aDoLpH******. My anti-giga melanoma-virus prevent me from entering that lethal strain full ID. Mr. Bib: Aren't you sick and tired of drinking the same Marak day in/day out? I'm sure that Medinat Israel is! MAAAAZZZZZPIKKKK! = Enough!
12. @ 8 Frank
Sheik rattle & roll ,   USA   (03.19.12)
Obama has shown as much love for Israel than any other US President and much more than any Canadian PM. I would like to say that every time there is a veto in the UN you could thank the US, and every time there is a rocket intercepted from Gaza you can thank the US for the funding of that as well. You foreigners can criticize Obama all you want but at the end of the day he is still President of the United States and was elected by the American people and the good news for you Mr. Frank is that there is a high probability that Mr. Obama will be re-elected again by the AMERICAN PEOPLE.
13. Attacking Iran SOLO is not in Israel's interest.Period!
Alan ,   SA   (03.19.12)
14. Unfortunately he is right
Yael Schlichting ,   Raubling - Germany   (03.19.12)
We may not fully agree with him, but from a statesman point of view there are a few more values to weight, than we may see on the first look! If we want to survive on the long run, we must ask ourselves, what will be more important: A) Striking now at the expense of risking our relationship with the U.S. administration. And even worse with the outlook that Obama will remain in power for another term? B) Close ranks with the U.S. and get the badly needed military aid and keep the ally as a friend. I don't like these prospects, but I see no other chance, but remain silent, swallow and close ranks while the U.S. is shipping M1-Abrams battle tanks to Egypt.
15. To#10: you want cheap oil?
Frank ,   Canada   (03.19.12)
You should have permitted the construction of the Keystone pipeline to get an access to cheap oil but you did not on purpose. So don't blame others for the consequences of your mistake especially when the first mistake was Carter support to Mullahs. You should have think of that before putting in power Mullahs.
16. Barak; Hannibal is at the gate
My Hammer ,   USA   (03.19.12)
Its time to deal with the12,000lbs elephant in the room. Not the rat in the whitehouse.
17. Keystone? OH CANADA, wake up eh.
Milk D ,   USA/east coast   (03.19.12)
Let me start by saying, oh poor us we should have signed on to The Keystone Project. I am trying to tell you and everybody that will listen..we do not care if its our fault, we dont care the outcome. The US citizens i mean. I am explaining the "realities" this article refers to. ISRAEL should be aware of "realities on the ground" as well,(they love that phrase). The reality is no matter who the politician is!!!!!! GAS PRICES THROUGH THE ROOF IS A DEATH SENTENCE, for EVERY politician. Which means instead of the ironclad support the Israelis expect from thr US will be met with condemnation. Oh and dont think that ANY backroom high fiving will be tolerated by the US electorate, (politicians are known for PRIVATELY approving) There will be a highly simple response. THROW EM OUT!.. So..in short what Barak is ACTUALLY saying is. Whoever stands with us before November. Wont be there Nov.8...NO MATTER WHO IT IS!!
18. why is it so easy for talkbackers abroad...
oferdesade ,   israel   (03.19.12)
to sacrifice my children in a nuclear war? of course nobody wants a nuclear iran. of course iran's present regime is an insult to satan. but whoa, guys. slow down. simplicity is checkers. this is chess.
19. Sensitivity? SENSITIVITY?
Sarah B ,   U.S.A. / Israel   (03.19.12)
How much sensitivity did the United States show towards Israel when, because of U.S. bombing raids in Iraq, Iraq responded by firing SCUDs into Israel? That's gratitude for you, in light of the fact that had Israel not destroyed the Osirac reactor, the U.S. and coalition troops would have been facing a nuclear Iraq. I have little doubt that Iran will respond to any Israeli strike by attacking a United States asset, hoping to widen the war. Also, because the Iranians are considerably more frightened of Israel than they are of the United States -- for good reason. But any Iranian strike against a United States asset would be the United States' problem, wouldn't it? Just the way Iraqi SCUDs fired into Israel in 1991 was Israel's problem. The only difference would be that Israel will not chain the United States' hands, the way the U.S. did Israel's during the Gulf War.
20. Sacrifice your kids in a nuclear war??
Milk D ,   USA/east coast   (03.19.12)
Are you kidding? What alot of people are telling you and the baddest men in town is, Barak and Bibi, have at it!! Just dont be surprised at the outcome, I dont live in the ME and like an overwhelming majority of people in the US we look at it as having no skin in the game. So as long as we are unaffected in ANY way. ( high gas prices is not unaffected) Have at it just dont look around for political cover or military protection. and dont be so naive as to think "oh the IDF is here we dont need America"please!! if we absorbed the IDF into the US military they would be cooks and drivers.
21. #13 But being killed by an iranian bomb
Yossef   (03.19.12)
is in Israel's interests. Right ?
22. Barak: A self serving parasite who could care less about....
Disgusting ,   Israel/US   (03.19.12)
the common people. Just like Obama, there is enough food in THEIR bunkers to last a lifetime. Campaigning for their egos........ lalalala
23. #18
Joe Sombrero ,   USA   (03.19.12)
I was in the Yom Kippur War I have seen war and I saw how relying on the United States and Europe fails. If a war breaks out the war will be here in the states also against us Jews so we have a stake. Doing nothing will destroy what is left of Israels deterrence. Friends of mine are getting rocketed every day and Israel does nothing if she had done more to enhance deterrence and not done so much appeasement we would not be in the situation we are in now.
24. THE IRANIAN ISLAMIC DICTATORSHIP.
SJOERD RUURD ,   HOORN,HOLLAND   (03.19.12)
OKAY, AHMADINADHJAD HAS THE THE PRESENT PRESIDENTSHIP OF IRAN. IN FACT THE REAL POWER IS STILL AT ALI KHAMENEI GRAND AJATOLLAH AN HIS CRIMINAL, THEOCRATICAL ISLAMIC-SHI-ITE REGIME/CLIQUE UNFORTUNATELY SINCE 1989.
25. The Best Thing The U. S. Can Do
Brett ,   Florida   (03.19.12)
Is back away. Back off, unless you are going to strike first. Lets face the facts. This IS war! Israel cannot just take out a few sites and pack it in. The very best way would be to use their own EMP to shut iran down to around the year 1856. No communications to fire anything at anybody. No walkie-talkies, no electronics, no electricity period! Seal the caves for a hundred years. So, by keeping a navy presence in the gulf, obama and sarkozyeeee are preventing a complete Israeli victory. Those ships would probably be pulsed too. And mr. o and mr.s. are daring Israel to do it. I say let the chips fall where they may. Don't be in a war zone if you don't expect to win. Something this country forgot years ago.
26. EMP???? Thats the problem!! You cant comprehend..
(03.19.12)
what the article is referring to. What I and the article is trying to articulate is you wont have to worry about the US " backing away" as you put it, when Israel attacks we wont be there anyway!!!!!! ONCE again, high gas prices is the ONLY reason for the " sensitivities" period! We dont care about any and I mean ANY issue, that will affect our pockets. And Bibi, Obama, Barak, Clinton, or whoever knows this, the fastest way to get thrown out of office in the US is high gas.If Israel attacks Iran who do u think is gonna stand up in the USA and say "good for you"?? i will answer that for you! NOBODY!!! they better not or they wont get elected as a dog catcher in any state on the Union. Oh and you guys think Santorum is gonna help??? HE cant even get elected in his own state. Soooooooo... I guess live with it or move. But peoples lives are NOT gonna be turned upside down because Israel is scared!
27. to@ 8
inconito ,   france   (03.19.12)
by Arab ally of israel and the united states (Ben Ali Mubarak Ali Abdullah Saleh). do you mean horrible dictators rejected by their people?
28. 26 you are so wrong!
My Hammer ,   USA   (03.19.12)
The people of the USA will stand up and say good job. Pollitians are cowards everywhere. Gas prices are riseing anyway so go ahead and bomb. And to all you liberals yes I would go and serve on the front lines Me and My sons with me. Warriors support Israel because they fight the just cause.
29. to: My Hammer
Chris Fucci ,   USA   (03.20.12)
Well said!
30. ITS HAMMER TIME.... He does not speak for us!!
Milk D ,   USA / East Coast   (03.20.12)
Are you ok hammer??? Could you tell me if this rag smells like chloroform?? To all readers this guy is out of his mind. He fails to realize we all know politicians( this Bush conservitive wont call you out on your spelling) are crooks, cons, and thieves. But guess what ham sandwich? They control the power, and if the ones in power see a gallon of good old petro at 4.42 a gal before he takes his shoes off and goes nighty night. Well when he wakes up and sees gas is what..what..wh..WTF. $6.48 a gallon. So then the initial brou haha of high fiving will be,lets just say inappropiate. And the only question then should be asked is Why should the USA and our 358 million citizens
