There is exactly the same situation in Belgium, in France, in Switzerland, in Spain, in UK and in Canada. Media is working against Israel trying to delegitimize it by presenting the State of Israel as an aggressor while Arabs are systematically presented as victims. I've been in NY when the attack on the tourist bus by the Egyptian border occurred, and it was shocking to see such a huge difference between European and American news. They use the same images, but in Europe, the situation in Israel is almost never showed while Israelis are NEVER interviewed in the European media. When grads hit Israel, it's never told, while one single incident involving Israel and Arabs is immediately presented as Israeli fault... It's a really shocking situation, and it's a good thing that people start to notice that! Though, strangely, the ex-Nazi states, like Germany, Italy, Holland and Flemish part of Belgium mainly support Israel...

Unfortunately the same is happening in Holland...:( It makes me sad when people form a negative opinion about Israel, and can't come up with proper arguments to support it. People should really base their opinion on other sources as well, instead of only the negative dutch ones..

Swedish media someone should send the swedish media and make them aware what israel contribute to the world in medicine agrictual hi tech water etc tell them to check how many nobel prizes jewish people have and for what also invite them to israel and see for themselves what is going on it will open their eyes if they will want to find out or carry on to live in denial maybe hasbara can help to do this

I visit Sweden regularly for business. It is absolutely true what you say about the Swedish media. What I find it frustrating however is that my Swedish, non-Jewish friends seem to know the truth much more than I was expecting. They also express their frustration about the situation but also say that under the current Swedish government and media terror, saying anything good about Israel is considered automatically anti-Muslim and they can be branded as "racists". This is indeed frustrating since I KNOW that many more Swedes think alike, but their freedom of expression is being stiffled by a "public opinion" brainwashed by an Islamo-Leftist media and an anti-Israeli inciting government. It is sad seeing Sweden, a country so many have been regarded as a model of freedom and progress, being raped into becoming an Islamo-Leftist tyranny, where Swedes have been denied the most basic right - the freedom of speech and expression without fear of being punished - even of the punishment comes in the form of social rejection and demonization. This kind of punishment is the most insiduous form of state and media terror, because it is done in the name and under the mask of freedom and progress!

True, the media here in Sweden tend not to report much of the israeli side of the conflict, and definitly not articles on Israel in any other light (tech, innovation, arts etc), but I still think many here in Sweden are pro-israel and look for news in other news sources such as israeli news in english to make up their opinions. Unfortunately many of the people with pro-palestine opinions are very loud and make sure they are heard. They also present their case in ways that make them impossible to debate and discuss.

Unfortunately we see exactly the same picture in Denmark. I do think that most people are simply just ignorant - it really is hard to be anything else with the media we have here. I used to blog too - on a Danish news website. They have now closed down their blog service, I guess they couldn't manage it? But I managed to get my blog deleted even before that, and my crime was to call someone an antisemite. It's not something I do very often - but 2 years ago when I was pregnant I wrote a blog piece about and how I was looking forward to meeting my daughter after birth and when I got a comment reading "Your daughter does not deserve to be born or live since she will be half Jewish" (My husband is Jewish, I'm not) I called the guy who wrote it an antisemite - that was apparently "slander" or something like that and my entire blog was deleted, as if I was the one in the wrong. Well, that's Scandinavia for you, the Jews or their supporters are always wrong.

The swedish media was never objectiv. Always presenting the palestinians as victims and the israeli reactions for raketa bombing of israeli citiies, like barbar, unproportial reaction. I was fighting always for an objectiv media, but I lost. I suggested, that the Israeli foreign ministry should protect the interest of israel in a more effective way, but they are just working towards USA, forgetting the other parts of the world. Israel of course paying for this the prise. Israel should create an israeli TV station or use the existing one with english subtitle, to show the israel point of view! Wake up Israel!

I agree with Kim. I was in Sweden recently and have many friends there. There is much to admire about the country and I feel very much at home when I visit. If I were to see the reports on t.v, I also would have a terrible view of Israel. Most people around the world think Tel Aviv looks like Gaza or that we are in a state of constant war. I'm a left winger and yet it is clear to me that the media is fairly one-sided here. Rarely do you hear about both sides equally. All I keep reading here is about the attacks on Gaza, no one even knew how it started or that major cities like Be'er Sheva were under attack. It's truly saddening, especially as someone who already works in that field.
