Of course the civilians in both countries don't want war. Who wants to have a bomb dropped on their house? Not me or anyone else I know. I happen to really like Persian culture, and I really hope that there is peace one day so that I can go to Iran on vacation and see the natural beauty there. Unfortunately, I'm also intelligent enough to understand that it doesn't matter what the Iranian people want - if the government is controlled by fundamentalist Islamic madmen, then they're going to drop a nuke on Israel whether their population wants that to happen or not. Their religious fanaticism is a bigger motivator than their lust for power. The only thing I can pray for is that someday the Iranian government will be disposed and that a government friendly to Israel (like the Shah was before 1979) will come back to power.

I'm not sure that anyone wants to bomb Iran, but failing other options to prevent their government from developing an atomic bomb and using it to kill us that is what will happen. Regardless of these people's intentions. It will happen without anyone asking their permission, and they know that their promise has no value. So what are they saying.
