Gunnar, I'm a typical right wing Jewish settler. First and foremost, I'm very clear about our own rights to the land, both from a Biblical & historical/legal perspective. Secondly, contrary to world opinion based on gross misinformation, the vast majority of settlers don't go around intimidating local Arabs, most of whom do extremely well in our region, thanks to the infrastructure they get from us and the millions of dollars they successfully con from the nations. Putting all that on one side, many of our leaders probably feel intimidated by the great machine of lies & propoganda put out by the quartet of 4, fueled by our enemies. These same leaders often feel split between paying lip service and abiding by their conscience. When they pay lip service by declaring their agreement with Palestinian aspirations, it's easy for the world, yourself included, to point an accusing finger against us settlers. Truth be known, we could probably work out a peace arrangement that actually works well on the ground to every 'local' person's advantage, far more reliably than anyone else who is only interested in distorting facts & thus will never succeed in making something durable. So Gunnar, let's hope that we get better Israeli leadership with more backbone, hopefully from Bibi, but we'll wait and see!
