1. I love how YNet talks about all of the Kharedim as if they
Henry from New York ,   USA   (03.29.12)
were a single person. It's amazing to me that an entire group of people thinks, acts and responds to events as one single body. They're just like towns in the periphery when you think about it... or at least when YNet thinks about them.
2. The Haredim gloated over the fall of Ariel Sharon, too.
Rivkah   (03.29.12)
So it was not gender hatred that is the problem. It is Kadima forsaking the Haredim in many of its policies that is the problem.
3. Most normal Jews are happy Livni is history
Menachem ,   Israel   (03.29.12)
Livni pretended to be the Golda of the 21st century but was in reality not only anti-religious, anti-Bibi and anti-Israel but anti-everything except her inflated ego. She won't be missed.
4. Dear Henry from New York
Sagi   (03.29.12)
Try being normal, you know, run of the mill, just like everybody else. Haredim, and not as you write it. Perhaps you are intent on drawing attention to yourself, just as the Haredim do by wearing a uniform and acting outrageously. You seem to have sympathetic feelings toward them, let me tell you something, They are systematically ruining this country and eventually the Israel that we know today, the one my forefathers fought and died for, will cease to exist. These people are anathema to me, they have no right to be here in most instances.
5. # 3 Menahem
Sagi   (03.29.12)
I do not laud anyone who wishes to be like Golda. She was one of the biggest troublemakers this country ever knew. Israel and its citizens paid dearly for the fact that she had no right to be PM. She was not elected in any democratic sense of the word, she was appointed as a compromise. I give her no more than the fact that she was an intelligent and respectable lady. End of story.
6. Written by a Livni supporter?
rebecca ,   Modiin   (03.29.12)
Whoever wrote this sounds like they are trying to blame the Hardim for Livni's downfall. Livni's loss was Livni's fault. Nothing in this article shows gloating by the Haradi masses. A politician here or there, a new media spoke about it, both appropriate, but there are no sweets or singing in public.
7. who is this guy called "charedim"?
izzyd   (03.29.12)
as if all of haredim actually think in a hive mind. and a "source" that makes a really immature statement. riiiight. Folks, this article was written in bed a few minuets after the results were announced. and, Sagi, over time i have to say you (to me) seem intolerant, inflexible, conservative and closed minded on many many issues that concern charedim. your speech and regard for them parallels everything you say you hate about them.
8. #4 - H is a letter reserved for a certain sound, that being
Henry from New York ,   USA   (03.29.12)
The first sound in my name. Kh is one of two other ways of writing the fricative (proper would be an H with two diagonal crosspieces) called khet, though it's not as popular as ch (often reserved for chaf as well), it is still used. I suggest research on this subject. Despite what you say, they're still your countrymen. Just because people dress and behave differently is ridiculous. Israel is a free state for Jews and it's not your place to decide that another group doesn't belong there. If all the non-Kharedi citizens voted to expel the Kharedim then yes, but not one man speaking out of hate. Why not try to get to know some kharedim? I'm sure it will help improve your view of them. Please try to be civil in future replies. It makes for more convincing arguments.
9. Try being normal.....
"Haredi" ,   Bne Brak   (03.29.12)
You're right we should be normal.... What standard should ne used to define normalcy? Don't be so shallow. Normal Jewish life is the lifestyle that the forefathers of your forefathers, for thousands of years, fought for. That life style embodied the time tested values that have contributed so much to civilizing mankind plus many profound advances in human development that clearly you are unaware of. Your apparant alienation from basic Jewish life and lack of understading what you exemplify as a Jew is your deficiency, not the Haredi community's. What right do you have to be in the the holy land? Do yourself a favor and get the most basic of a Jewish education based on authentic time tested values. Then you'll understand why the Israel your forefathers built must and is changing. If you really care, you can begin filling your gaping holes in Jewish knowledge by continuing this dialogue at the published email. I'll try to take time off from work to respond. I hope you do, for your sake.
10. #7 - indeed, you put to words the attitude I see in his post
Henry from New York ,   USA   (03.29.12)
that I could not. Agree 100% with your whole post. This is a common way of writing for Israeli journalists that they refer to certain groups as a whole and basically say that they think, behave and feel all in the same way. It's a common way of writing about small towns in the US, but Israeli journalists do it with: Arab Israelis, Mizrakhim, small towns, religious people, women, etc. We actually have a whole class on this and it makes me think there has to be a real overhaul in journalistic standards.
11. # 8 Henry from New York
Sagi   (03.29.12)
First of all I was civil, very civil, as I always am. Secondly it is indeed my right to determine who should be here and who should not. If you reread my former response to you you will see that I used the word "most". I was refering to the same Haredim from various sects and cults that neither believe in Zionism nor are they Israeli citizens and on top of that they constantly defame the State and not only ignore its laws but defiantly break them. I hope I have been in line with your standards of civility in giving this response. Just for the record, one more time, I do not "hate" as you say, rather I have complete and utter contempt for them, just as I do for all folks who worship "gods" and prophets, idols and big black stones, totem poles etc. All are for me one and the same thing, simply a manifestation of Man's feeble mind.
12. #1 It's Haredim vs. Secular
(03.29.12)
Secular IN GENERAL are Leftists, anti-G-d, anti-Torah, anti-Jew, anti-Israel, anti-establishment with no morals or values. On the other hand, haredim IN GENERAL are Rightists, G-d fearing Torah Jews, pro-Israel including all of Israel; Jerusalem, Tel Aviv, Haifa, Hevron and Yehuda and Shomron, and have morals and values. Even Ynet see the difference because it's so obvious. That is why they always clearly specify when a haredi goes against their trend, because unlike the secular it's so uncommon.
13. livni defeated herself
elie ,   israel   (03.29.12)
reading yesterdays paper and commenting is a commentators job, not a serious politician. just finding fault with everyone brought her down. she lacked creaivity. as leader of the opposition she had to make news and overcome a pr oriented pm.
14. surprise... not.
european   (03.29.12)
religious fanatics of any kind, in any religion or country are all the same. their thoughts and feelings are ugly and negative. that's what religious fanaticism is all about: no joy, no love, no human kindness, no tolerance, no peace of mind. just look at iran and saudi arabia.
15. Tzipi and the H
Siobhan Cohen ,   Halifax, Canada   (03.29.12)
I am appalled that any group or person would delight in another's downfall. This is not the Jewish tradition as I understand it. They need to apologize!!! It is hurtful and mean and not a good reflection of who we are as a people!!!
16. # 9 Haredi, Bnei Brak
Sagi   (03.29.12)
I presume your post is refering to me.I thank you for your kind invitation to interact with you by way of email but I have to decline. I am a very dedicated and long time atheist with very strong convictions as regards religion, any religion, rites and rituals, beliefs and non sensical ideas about prophets and messiahs. Man must worship himself, not in the egotistical manner, but humanity as a whole. Man must worship nature and the wonderful things which it embraces, including Man himself. Anything else is nonsense concocted by Man and his feeble mind. Religion is Mankind's biggest folly, it has caused the lives of untold millions, it is detrimental to free thought and therefor detrimental to progress. I am not in need of an education as you said, first because I indeed had a very good one and second, believe me, I have been through the university of life and graduated with honors. I have more than a basic knowlege of Judaism, its origins and its tenets, how it was practised and how it developed. Rabbi Akiva explained "the Tora on one foot" I suggest that the Ultras read this and reread it as they seem to have forgotten his advice.
17. Haredi Stupidity
zivron   (03.30.12)
During ww2 the haredim were particularly stupid not emigrating to palestine post word war 1 and not running from the nazi army to siberia in ww2 millions died . False prophets .
18. Sagi - nasty and senseless as usual
S Judah ,   Jerusalem   (03.30.12)
And you wear it as it were something to be proud about. I ask my self a simple question, where would you have been if your forefathers were not believers and respecting of our religion and traditions.? And I answer , still in Egypt. Still unredeemed.
19. #4, 5, 19 Sagi

Your parroting of propaganda leaflets, along with shallow excuses you use to defend your ignorance is enough to show who IS obscurantist.
20. # 19
Sagi   (03.30.12)
I am a free thinker, and as such I cannot be accused of obscurantism. I parrot no one nor do I read cheap propoganda. My thoughts on Religion are mine and mine alone and I have a perfect right to expound them without you accusing me of being ignorant. The sole realm of ignorance is religion itself.
21. Your forgetting about Psalms
Rabbi M ,   Jerusalem Israel   (03.30.12)
In Psalms it says"The people who love G-d Hate the wicked". We are not happy with any Jews downfall, we are happy when bad charecter and anti G-d ideas have a downfall. We pray that Tzipi and all others like her will repent. To number three who wrote to Henry. You forefathers who got you this land were Hareidi. Read the bible the only claim which we have to this land as even Ben -gurian quoted in his speech as becoming prime minister. And to Mr. Athiest. Religion brought all morals to rhe world. Athiest do what they want bec. They believe noone cares and they came from a bunch of monkeys. Hitler was a prod athiest and wrote how he wants to cure the world of any consious. That"s a great role model you have. Why don"t you look at how many organazations Hareidim have started in Israel. Hundreds if not thousands. From Yad Eliezer to Hatazlah to small free money lending. I really love all Jews and hope we can just get along and keep G-ds will.
22. # 21 Rabbi M
Sagi   (03.30.12)
"religion brought all morals to the world". Ha ha ha ! I have never had such a good laugh in a long time. Let me tell you what religion has done and is still doing. It poisons people's minds. It has caused more death and destruction in the course of human history than any other single factor. It has killed, maimed and castrated more human beings in the course of history than populate the planet today. This is moral ? Have another try.
23. #21 - Rabbi M
Chaim T. ,   Jeruasalem, Israel   (03.30.12)
Rabbi M, The actual phrase you quote in Hebrew is: (phoneticised in English) "Ohavay Hashem, Seenu Ra." The simple translation of this is: Those who love God, hate evil. An understanding of Hebrew grammar shows that "seenu" is a conjugation of the Hebrew word for "hate", expressed as a command, and not a statement of fact. This "evil" we are commanded to hate is "evil" itself. Not the individual committing the evil acts. Ahavat Yisrael (Love your fellow Jew) does not stop if one of our people mistakenly commits an evil act. We do not withhold love from the person. We hate the evil, but love the Jew. We try to help them see the error of their ways, and with love, help them to heal.
24. Oy .Mr. Sagi
rabbi . ,   Jerusalem Israel   (03.30.12)
Yes distorted and made up relrion kill people. Not Judiasm which vaues life more than anything else$ You were brainwashed like the rest od seculars. I hope you can get out and think for yourself. It's nice that you laugh but after 120 your gonna have to face the truth. Let's say your wrong Mr. Cinfident it won't be so funny. Look into your heritage. We have the deepest and strongest roots. Not all Jews lost it. There"s hope. By difinition as a matter of fact an athist has no morals bec. Evberyone can make up their own. Who says it's wrong to steal? Don't you get. All morals came from the Bible.
25. # 24 Rabbi
Sagi   (03.30.12)
No "god" has ever directed me or my morals. Those who know me will say that I am the epitome of morality, a lover of Mankind and the animal kingdom,a respecter of the planet, a logical and pragmatic person who has never deliberately hurt anyone in his entire life. How did that happen ?
26. # 24 Rabbi
Sagi   (03.30.12)
"made up religions". All religions are made up. Up till now the odds are in favor of Man inventing God and not the opposite.
27. 26 Sagi Einstein believed in a Creator
ORA ,   JERUSALEM   (03.31.12)
28. Ora # 27
Sagi   (03.31.12)
It is totally irrelevant as to what Einstein believed. For the purpose of "god" or "no god" he was just another person, albeit an extraordinary one. In fact he was a self proclaimed agnostic.
