1. "Red Crescent employees fire on Israeli soldiers"
tf ,   herzliya   (04.02.12)
That demands a much more serious action from the Israeli government and serious answers from the PA. If Red Crescent wants to continue to operate then they must be held to account for this.
2. Thats one way of beating them
Sarah B ,   U.S.A. / Israel   (04.02.12)
I'd prefer to do it by scoring more goals than them, but whatever works is fine with me....

Dyslexic... ,   Israel..   (04.02.12)

4. How Can They Have A Team?
emanon ,   USA   (04.02.12)
Don't you need to have a country in order to have a national team? The Olympics are supposed to be a competition between national sports teams engaged in legitimate sports.
5. Sure to become a national "hero"
Carl ,   USA   (04.02.12)
Will any world medi report on this war crime - Palestinian Red Crescent members given guns by an officer of Palestinian security for the purpose of attacking Israelis? And this coming from people controlled by the "moderate" Abbas who claims to seek peace! Where is the UN investigation? Where is the International Red Cross? Where are all the "human rights" organizations that should be appalled at this criminal abuse?
6. "Good sportsmanship"_ pal style
Bad Assed Jew ,   United States   (04.02.12)
not one of these bastards can live without trying to murder Jews. No wonder their arab brothers keep them in camps, like wild dogs. I hope he meets his virgins after a prolonged starvation diet or, of aids, like arafat.
7. Weird. Only in the Arab world.
Jim T-A   (04.02.12)
Paramedics have AK-74 and assault rifles hwile goalies are involved in terrorist attacks. I often feel sorry for the Arab nation. Down-trodden, brain-washed y their religious leaders, betrayed by their political leaders, excelling only in hate and destruction, lies and destruction. Nothing positive, no achievements, no human stories, only heoric calls - Down with US! Down with Israel! Is there anything in your lives that you are proud of? Or rather - have a reason to be proud of?
8. And what is wrong with that ?
Indigenous ,   Nablus Palestine   (04.02.12)
International humanitarian law (IHL) does not expressly mention the right of an occupied people to resist an occupation. In 1977 article 1(4) of the First Additional Protocol (IAP) to the Geneva Conventions clearly expanded the application of the IHL to "…armed conflicts in which peoples are fighting against colonial domination and alien occupation and against racist régimes in the exercise of their right of self-determination...". However, Israel is not state-party to the Protocol and is therefore not obliged to follow its clause. To ICRC and Article 1(4) Read more about the First Additional Protocol (IAP) The use of force as part of resisting occupation in the Palestinian case is therefore derived from the international legitimacy to recourse to armed struggle in order to obtain the right to self-determination. In some cases resistance can also stem from the right to self-defence.

14. reply to #8, Nablus
moshe ,   Tivon, Israel   (04.03.12)
#8 xxxxxxxxxx , Nablus YES ! the IHL avoids even making ANY mention of the socalled "rights" of occupied people to resist occupation. Even the 1977article 1(4) you use to justify pal resistance uses the UNDEFINED terms: "colonial domination and racist regimes" which is answered by: 1.NO recognized country is being occupied by the IDF . "Palestine" does not exist as far as International Law is concerned. 2. Certainly "racist " does not apply to the IDF which includes Arab and Bedouin military allies. moshe
15. #5 I once enquired about that when I saw
arlene   (04.03.12)
Palestine represented at the olympics, mentioning that I didnt think there was such a place, they told me very diplomatically they recognise territories, and allowed them to compete, thus saying for them Palestine is a territory. Not a country. Maybe things have changed on their agenda. Remember those that fell in Munich.
