1. The Husseini family ...
Sarah B ,   U.S.A. / Israel   (04.02.12)
... can go to hell in a handcart. The ancestor that they venerate -- Haj Amin al Husseini, may his name be cursed throughout eternity -- was the architect of the pogrom which killed Jews in Hebron in 1929. He was a Nazi ally and conferred with the Nazis on how best to kill Jews. His entire family should be summarily evicted from Medinat Israel, never to return. Monsters tend to breed monsters. I don't think his family could possibly have avoided that. Finally -- Jerusalem belongs to ISRAEL. All of Jerusalem. Period. Full stop. Any Arabs that don't like it are free to leave at any time.
2. Oooh, missed this first time around!
Sarah B ,   U.S.A. / Israel   (04.02.12)
" .... Adnan Husseini, the Palestinian Authority-appointed mayor of Jerusalem ..." Don't forget his donkey, who is doubtless the deputy mayor. Or perhaps it is the other way around. Who cares?
3. G-d gave the arabs NOTHING in Israel. NOTHING.
Bunnie Meyer ,   Los Angeles, CA USA   (04.02.12)
4. BUILD!
Bad Assed Jew ,   United States   (04.02.12)
Best way to secure safety in Israel.
5. wrong it represents israeli land you arabs stole from us.
RALPH   (04.02.12)
6. Sins of the Fathers?
M. Davison ,   Ra'anana, Israel   (04.02.12)
Unlike Sarah B, I don't think the sins of the fathers should be conferred upon their children. However, Haj Amin al-Husseini forfeited any assets in Mandate Palestine when he entered the list of criminals wanted by the British Mandate Authorities, so there's nothing for the family to sue for in the first place. War criminals from WW II lost their assets (and often their lives) in the Allied war crimes courts and al-Husseini would have been no different. Again, there would have been nothing for the family to sue for... As far as slandering the Israeli courts, it wasn't so long ago that Arab families in Silwan had rent-controlled homes, owned by Jewish owners-- it was only after the PA recommended to the residents NOT to pay the rent that the owners fought to have them evicted--and that took ten years or more. To claim that their case "proves" Israeli courts are biased when there are plenty of examples of the opposite is just the sour grapes of a sore loser where the court's decision went against him... but then, Arabs haven't ever really been known to lose gracefully, have they?
7. Hebron Jewish home owners have been told to leave their home
rebecca ,   Modiin   (04.02.12)
which is bought and paid for with proof. But it's the arabs who are hard done by???
8. THE PALIS HAVE NO RIGHTS TO ANY INCH OF JERUSALEM
stude ham   (04.02.12)
and in particular all traces of that nazi loving grand mufti must be erased.
9. Ha, ha, ha,ha!
m   (04.02.12)
Supreme court not fair to Arabs? A good joke.
10. #6 - re: Silwan home evictions
William ,   Israel   (04.02.12)
The PA request to Arab families to stop paying rent actually worked in Israel's favor because it moved forward the claim by Jews over stolen property in Eastern Jerusalem. Another case in Sheik Jarrah where the family refused to pay rent at all, and never had in the past, despite admitting they received Jewish property illegally from the Jordanian govt. This smacks of irony as Arabs and Leftists claim they have a right to stolen public property or that of Jewish owners because of the time period that has passed. In contrast, they deny Jewish rights to land where settlers have lived for decades because they consider it "stolen land" though no real proof can be ascertained in records as can in the Jerusalem environ.
11. Jews from Arab countries lost even more than Palestinians
EgyptJewRefugee ,   Ex. Cairo, Egypt   (04.02.12)
Jews from Arab countries lost even more real estate than Palestinians. Hopefully one day some compensation can be paid out but it will never be really resolved.
12. Awwww, the poor nazis lost their hotel...
Scott ,   USA   (04.02.12)
13. Trying to feel some sympathy...
Henru from New York ,   USA   (04.02.12)
But when it's an al-Husseini we're talking about... Well, sympathy isn't something I can feel for this family of cheaters and scammers.
14. To further Sarah B.'s posts: Haj Amin
Robert Haymond ,   Israel/Canada   (04.02.12)
al-Husseini spent the war years as Adolph Hitler's guest in Germany. The two plotted how to rid (read: exterminate) all the Jews of the Mideast once Adolph was successful in Europe. The Haj returned with German militants and advisers after WWII and these remnants of the German armed forces also fought against Israel during our War of Independence. Now his descendants have the audacity to claim part of Israel as theirs.
15. Not sorry for Arabs
sk ,   USA   (04.02.12)
I'm not sorry for Arabs as a whole. They have waaaay too much land in the Middle East (over 99.9%) and around 16% of world oil deposits, and they screw us all at the gas pumps via OPEC. So if they Arabs can't find a way to take care of their own, then it's not anybody elses problem!
16. JESUSALEN
cristian ,   JESUSALEN   (04.02.12)
THE KINGDOM OF HEAVEN
17. Al Hussein creats Bosnian SS brigade
Avram Goldsmith ,   Toronto,Canada   (04.02.12)
18. Best thing,really.
Ian ,   Newcastle upon Tyne   (04.02.12)
If the Husseini wants to further its interests by making the outrageous claim that this wreck is "a symbol of Palestinians' rights to their land and to Jerusalem",the best thing IS to demolish it and as soon as possible. There seems to be a shed-load of nonsense claims coming from the Arabs. The claim that Jewish construction in E. Jerusalem and the West Bank would deny them a viable State is another.Even without Jewish construction,an Arab State in the West Bank and the Gaza Strip will NEVER be viable. It would always have to be supported by massive external aid and would fail in days without it. THREE CHEERS FOR ISRAEL!!!
19. Losing the Case
Bill ,   New York, USA   (04.02.12)
I am just glad to see "lose" spelled correctly, as it is so often mangled by loosers on talkbacks ;-)
20. The guardian of absentee property
Cynic #2   (04.02.12)
First Israel disallows them back Then declares them absentees then confiscates their property then gets the court to provide legal cover Then gives it over to Jews That's how Palestine was usurped. And they call the Palestinian thieves and occupiers? The tide will turn one day.
21. finger salute to husseini in hell....
les ,   canada   (04.02.12)
BUILD..BUILD..BUILD! DRILL..DRILL..DRILL.. AND ISRAEL WILL PROSPER!
22. mufti hussein was the buddy of adolf hitler
J. Meyer ,   Den haag, Holland   (04.02.12)
about time to destroy this landmark of the religion of love and peace for crying out loud, hope they dump the remains of that building in the deepest point of the Dead Sea
23. to No. 20 Why you complain. Jordan did the same in 1950
Ari ,   Jerusalem   (04.02.12)
Jordan declared Absentee property all the Jewish property in Silvan, Bet Jarra and all the places near Shimon Hatzadic, same as mount Scopus. Israel regained in 1967 part of the jewish land and properties, stolen by the Jordanians and declared absentee property after the war of Independence So why what was good for the Jordanians in 1950 is not good for the Israelies after 1967
24. right
SA ,   USA   (04.02.12)
Of course because the Israeli court didn't rule in your favor means that no Palestinian is treated fairly in Israeli court. Just thank your lucky stars you live in a real democracy.
25. GOYIM TIMES IS FULFILLED
daniel   (04.03.12)
NOW IT IS TIME TO RETURN TO THE JEWISH ROOTS OF TORAH AND THE COMANDMENTS
26. #20 Exactly right
Ben Alofs ,   Bangor, UK   (04.03.12)
Custodian of Absentee Property. An Orwellian term if ever there was one. A normal person would think that a custodian safeguards someone's property untill the rightful owner returns. But in Israel Custodian of Absentee Property means taking control of someone else's property, then, while denying the real owners the right to return to claim their property, transferring/selling it to a third party. It is daylight robbery. No amount of justification can hide it.
27. to #20
steve ,   U.S.A.   (04.03.12)
1st line- change 'Israel' to 'Gentiles' 5th line- change 'Jews' to 'Arabs' 6th line- change 'Palastine' to 'Israel' 7th line- change 'Palastinian(s)' to 'Jews' 8th line- change 'will turn one day' to 'has turned'
28. #20 He could have returned...
Igor ,   Germany   (04.03.12)
...and face justice. The fact is that Al Husseini was sought after the WW 2 by the allies for war crimes. He could have "returned" to Israel and face the justice. Or go to Nuremberg, if he preferred it. But since he chose to run and hide, he was an _absentee_. As simple as that.
29. Husseini = Hitler
Ric ,   Gosport, UK   (04.03.12)
The Shepherd Hotel should be demolished and treated like the Fuhrerbunker in Berlin.
30. To 26
Shimon ,   Poleg   (04.03.12)
Are you as concerned about my father's property in Aden taken in the pogroms of 67 or my mother's family's property in Zlitan in Libya? I thought not! 1 million Jews lost their homes and properties and had no choice either leave or die. It is interesting how narrow minded people like yourselves only see one side of the story. When there are 2 opposite opinions the truth is invariably somewhere in between however I don't expect a bigot in Wales to understand this.
