1. Big names (like van Creveld) get away with a lot
Raymond in DC ,   Washington, USA   (04.03.12)
Many years ago, I spent a few graduate months at Hebrew U. I spoke to one asst. professor's (female) secretary about a position as research assistant, but she told me my chances were slim. He only took on female assistants, especially good looking ones. A few years ago, Hebrew U was aggressively defending one of their leading sociology profs against charges of sexual harassment - the same leftist prof who'd awarded that infamous thesis that "IDF soldiers don't rape Palestinian woman, thus proving they're racists". He was ultimately let go.
2. Prof. van Creveld "shovinizm"
yosef yankelev, Phd ,   Coral Springs, USA   (04.03.12)
...Most likely another Tempest in the teapot by the feminist minded Israeli mass media. Together w/other unproven men "crimes" against women, which our own can skillfully and painfully manipulate, to females' advantage. In vogue now, "This too shall pass..."
3. Two genders
Carl van Zijll de Jo ,   Lincoln, NZ   (04.03.12)
We have adopted the clause to have “freedom of speech”, but with “freedom of speech” come irrevocable “freedom to offend”. From the Creator’s point of view He has created two genders: male and female. Also “Eve” was created out of “Adam” for Adam, as the “male spirit” is a subordinate creation that came out of the Spirit of our Creator for our Creator. As it is commonly expressed: “The female is the weaker vessel!” Let we be true to ourselves; in war time... and there are many going on around us... we see how women (and children) are subject to abuse they cannot defend themselves against. It is our Creator’s utmost desire for men to take up their responsibility and protect women; and for women in all modesty be a helpmate for men.
4. Misogynism
zznhl   (04.03.12)
The fact that he considers Women an "issue" completely justifies the claims that this "intellectual" is a misogynist and should never be hired by an educational institution as would be the case with racialists or homophobes.
5. He's published 22 books and is considered
Robert Haymond ,   Israel/Canada   (04.03.12)
a distinguished military historian but he's not "politically correct" according to his detractors. He doesn't buy the prevailing liberal view about gender differences or lack of them. Therefore, he should be demonized by the left. There is nothing, incidentally, regarding any hint of sexual improprieties in his past. In another age, we would consider ourselves lucky to have him.
6. what a load of p.c. crap from these arch
pinchas ,   boston   (04.03.12)
feministas eager to lynch (castrate?) the professor. He has the view that women are in some cases wiser than men, in some cases the opposite. So? He believes the genders are different. oh my, so heretical, let's get rid of him! I'll bet money that the university sacks him-- BUT it will keep all the super-post-Zionist lefties and defend their RIGHT to say, defame and preach in the classroom that Zionism is colonialsim and should be condemned as evil.
7. Not surprising.
Scott ,   Tallahassee   (04.03.12)
Had this professor last year during an MA program at Tel Aviv U. The second I saw the headline of this article I KNEW who it was going to be about. I find this hysterical. Though I do not care about the sex scandal one way or another, my qualms with him were regarding a biased grade and comments received following his confusion of me with another student.
8. HE IS REALLY SEXIST
Former Student ,   Tel Aviv, Israel   (04.04.12)
He was my professor and I can vouch that he really is sexist and extremely offensive. There was one woman in the class, in her early 20's, who he asked several times why she is studying and not married and having babies instead. Good riddance to Creveld, he should not be teaching anywhere.
9. He is cute...
Sarah B ,   U.S.A. / Israel   (04.04.12)
10. #5 Rbert Haymond
Sarah B ,   U.S.A. / Israel   (04.04.12)
Try to be original Robert... Israel/Canada?
11. Int
Igor ,   Germany   (04.04.12)
12. German leftists...
Igor ,   Germany   (04.04.12)
...now dictate who can lecture in Tel Aviv? The German academia is notoriously leftist, and the student associations (AStA) even more. Van Crefeld's expulsion from Trier, after only one lecture, was widely criticized in German media and even academia. It turned out that most of those who were against him haven't been present at the lecture.
13. He knows: Inferior virago attorneys are not cute.
