Steven Benassi ,   Silver Bay, MN USA   (04.04.12)
Becoming the 51st State will solve your "existential problems" but you will have to abide by American Laws, like equality for the Palestinians.
2. to #1
Steve from Raleigh   (04.04.12)
I suppose it would be better for you if the US simply became another bronze age caliphate.
3. to #1
joe ,   zichron, israel   (04.04.12)
I invite you to come to Israel and to see yourself what you pretend we don't have. I will be happy to see your new comment after this. I may also suggest you to use your time here to visit any of our southern cities as it may be interesting as well. While flying over here, you can go through some basic history books and learn a bit who is who here in this small piece of land.
4. #2 - There were niether Caliphates nor Muslims in the Bronze
Henry from New York ,   USA   (04.04.12)
Age.... Just say medieval and you'll be fine.
5. Egyptians will start to realise the folly of these
Henry from New York ,   USA   (04.04.12)
restrictions once tourism in the Sinai and Alexandria drop significantly.
6. Equal?
Hertzel ,   Tveria/USA   (04.04.12)
Wow, you are so flat flat on real knowledge... Arab Israelis have voting rights, economic rights, travel rights, bare arms right, freedom rights, and all that while they are not supporting the state of Israel but it's very enemies. and they all say, once asked to leave to live in the PA that "No Way" Israel much better for them, but people like you that only parrot out propaganda Sh$^#t they read someplace will never know any better. Just keep it shut, that way your inferior intelligence will not be known... Hell, those pals of yours advise the enemy in an official pais job position and at the same time sit in the Israeli Parliament, and they can not be prosecuted because of Israeli Law that protects the right of speech... have that in the US???? In world war 2 the poor japanese were locked up, for fear of being a 5th column, in Israel they call Hizballah to tell them where the targets are, and they get away with it, in the US they will be locked up for life !!!
7. Peres champion of Egyptian tourism not Israeli touraism
zionist forever   (04.04.12)
If the Egyptians ban bikinis then its to Israel's benefit because instead of taking their vacation in Sharm El Sheik they will come spend their money in Eilat where they don't have to worry about what they wear and still enjoy all the same things as they could in Egypt. A poor Egypt is also good for Israel because when a government has economic problems to deal with it they have less time for making wars. Assad's fall won't be the end of Hezbollah because they get their money & weapons from Iran. Israel also has alot to fear from Assad 's fall because we do not know who will replace him and we could find ourselves longing for the good old days when Assad was running the show. There is also a risk of Assad's Scuds & WMDS fall into the hands of terrorists or a radical islamist government. The man might be a brutal idiot but his successor might be worse for Israel. As for the palestinians, I do wish we could stop being told constantly about how we must make peace with the palestiians. If talks take place then they take place and if they lead to peace then great but if not no amount of speeches by Peres will change that.
8. Will this old fool ever STFU?
jason white ,   afula, israel   (04.04.12)
His job is ceremonial, not political. We never elected peres resident. He could not win on his own. He needed that disgraced olmert and his kadima gang to get elected. The people do not want peres!
9. #7: Let's be honest. Eilat sucks compared to Sharm and Dahab
Kunta ,   Jerusalem   (04.04.12)
There is a reason why the Israelis set those place up in the first place. Israel really should consider building and encouraging additional infrastructure south from Eilat towards the Egyptian border. The Princess and Orchid are really nice, but more can be done in that area.
10. Steven Benassi
Harrybaby ,   Canada   (04.04.12)
Steven, for a man of your age you show a ridiculous amount of immaturity. It is clear that all the facts you continuously claim, are false in origin, so why don't you give YNET, us and yourself a break?Alternatively, possibly YNET has an editing policy that prevents incitement and falsehoods. Clearly the newspaper needs to help this gentleman help himself. It would be a mitzvah for all concerned!
11. jason y u so mad, bro?
Superior2U ,   YNet   (04.04.12)
12. Peres: "Assad is more brutal than his father and less smart"
Raymond in DC ,   Washington, USA   (04.04.12)
About the "less smart" part, there's little argument. Hafez was a skilled political operator. But considering that Hafez ordered his army against the Brotherhood in Hama almost 30 years ago (killing at least 20,000), it's hard to argue that Bashar (responsible for some 10,000 deaths to date) is more brutal. If *I* am old enough to remember that, and Peres is older than me, what's his excuse for such nonsense? As to the "good relationship" he claims we have with Egypt, that's yet more nonsense.
13. WHAT? What is Peres advising the
Israeli 2   (04.05.12)
Muslim Brothehood about BIKINIS? Bikinis are Haram. They are opposed to lewdness and I for once happen to agree with them. I wish Israel and the West learn from the Muslims to be more modest and less infidels.
14. Yet another funk title for a posting, YNET
Cameron ,   USA   (04.05.12)
I do get a cynical laugh coming across them. This title was particularly good for a snort & grin.
15. #13 depends on the viewpoint
Borislava ,   Sofia, Bulgaria   (04.07.12)
To understand better - for you are haram for me are halal. I do not want to go to the beach like Batman. You cannot impose someone's your lifestyle at different system of values
16. #1 Steven
David N. ,   Haifa, ISRAEL   (04.07.12)
Why on earth would we want to become part of the US? How degrading! Israel and the US do not have much in common, and we do not stand for the same things in so many areas. Of course, if you yanks want to become the 7th district of Israel, we could at least talk about it.
17. #1 not informed - Palestinians vote in their own elections
L. Rose ,   Canada   (04.09.12)
I get tired of ignorant comments like Steven's. Arab Israeli citizens have equality (in fact Arab Israeli women have far more rights and freedoms in Israeli society than they do in many Arab countries). Palestinians - meaning those living in the Palestinian territories vote in their own elections. This resulted in a 'civil war' between their rival political parties Hamas and Fatah (leaving Hamas in control of the Gaza Strip in what is essentially a religious/militia dictatorship). You want equal rights for Palestinians? Petition Hamas and Fatah to stop arresting their own journalists and anyone who criticizes their leadership. That's just the tip of the fact iceberg - but Steven will probably keep sailing along blissfully ignorant.
