In 1948 the arabs insisted they were NOT Palestinians. They insisted they were syrian arabs, iraqi arabs, or like Arafat, egyptian arabs.
Zuheir Mohsen, a leader in the PLO, in an inverview, March 1977, with the Dutch newspaper Trouw, said the following:
"The Palestinian people does not exist. The creation of a Palestinian
state is only a means for continuing our struggle against the state of Israel for our Arab unity. In reality today there is no difference between Jordanians,
Palestinians, Syrians and Lebanese. Only for political and tactical reasons do we speak today about the existence of a Palestinian people, since Arab national interests demand that we posit the existence of a distinct Palestinian people to oppose Zionism."
I believe him more than you.
Most Jews in Israel are either from arab countries (having been kicked out) or their descendants (who were not put in camps for political reasons, as the arabs did to their own.
The word Palestinian came from the Roman name for the area, taken from the then disappeared Philistines (who were Greek). They wanted to cut the Jewish connection with the land. They didn’t need to cut an arab connection, as there wasn’t any; no connection and no arabs. (And no, they are not Canaanites, who disappeared ages before. May as well say they are descended from Neanderthals).
Like it or not, they are not Palestinians, but late arrivals from different countries. They consider themselves Palestinians only since the 1960’s. (In 1948 if you said Palestinians you meant the Jews.)
Interesting: you agree that Jews have suffered for centuries, and yet you ignore their suffering while comparing them to a "people" that created themselves in the 1960's.
Your history is as twisted as your reasoning. Facts have never been your strong point.
