fad egypt   (04.07.12)
Omer Sulieman is the man , i have been supporting him even before the revolution itself , no one can stop the radical islam except him God bless Mr Sulieman shalom
4. Democracy in action...
cj ,   paris france   (04.07.12)
that is what democracy is about . People have a choice in whom they elect. Oooops, democracy Egyptian style is the same democracy that is in Syria,Lybia, saudi arabia, Yemen..... Hopefully we shall see Egypt go to ruin in a very short time.
5. Suleiman President
Adam ,   London   (04.07.12)
That bunch of snakes the MB said they would not stand, and did, so what the hell. It's a democracy now (in theory) he can do what the hell he likes, anything that winds the MB up is good stuff. The Christians will all vote for him
6. Egyptian youth is doomed
john ,   Beverly Hills, CA   (04.07.12)
"That makes him suspect in the eyes of many Egyptians, who had hoped to stamp out the old regime altogether and usher in a transition to democracy." Democracy? Whippings, Hangings, Beheadings.... is what the new power wants there. Sane humans (except a few liberal jews from new york) will not visit egypt and israel within 5 years wont need egypt for no energy. Egyptian youth better rid the country of this islam radical idea and start living like sane people.
7. By revolution you seldom get better leadership!
Jouko ,   Finland   (04.07.12)
On the contrary usually things get much worse through rapid changes. If you want good leaders, you would have to choose them one by one - and before all to know their hearts well. Leaders are supposed to reign with righteosness. Often excellent speakers will be chosen but they know nothing about righteos reign. The problem with the world is that the low morals people have the greatest urge to rise into power.
8. #3 Your vote is irrelevent...
Nour ,   One-State   (04.07.12)
Egyptian people have voted for their parliament and it's a heavily Islamist-inclined result. This is democracy at play my friend. Your traitor of a friend (and agent of Israel) Suleiman stands no chance, absolutely no chance, at winning the election in the post-revolution context. In democracy, you don't pick and choose who you like. As much as I despise political Islam and the Islamists, I am eager to see history take its course and let Egypt try those who were jailed for 35 years. Let them decide, for themselves.
9. he would split the secular vote
Scott ,   Ramat Gan, Israel   (04.07.12)
even though he would probably be the most responsible pres. & friendly to Israel, his running would play into the hands of the muslim brotherhood.
10. # 8 Nour
fad egypt   (04.07.12)
i dont care , but i ve te right to exercise my right to vote for whoever i want , the right for vote is not only for the islamists i know that you the fakestinians dont want sulieman and want egypt to be ruled with the islamists thinking that egypt will destroy itself in a war with israel for the eyes of the fakestinians as happened in the past anyway this is the egyptian elections not the fakestinian elections
11. Egiptians still do not get what thye will have
Oleg ,   USA   (04.07.12)
as soon as brothehood takes power? All those liberals will have their heads off by a new extreme regime.

Once you stated that if Mubarak is ousted, you would leave Egypt and go ... -maybe to israel?- might take u in- but you didn't leave?
13. conspiratorial paranoia
mohson   (04.07.12)
the brotherhood wherever it is, whether erdogan, now egypt are paranoid, lying, conspiratorial entities that are not capable of real democracy. they can be educated at the best schools. it doesn't matter. They rule in their countries based on dark ages, torture, beating of women as iran does to its people. Sadly, the root of the problem is islam and there interpretation is no way to hide it.
