1. Take that welfare teat out of peoples mouths
Al   (04.23.12)
and they will run to work like they got the runs. Welfare makes your population, lazy stupid and worse, useless. You dont have to go to Harvard to figure that one out. Teach people to help themselves instead of being dependent on others. That is the highest form of charity there is. As far as Im concerned the ultra orthoquack rabbis are doing their young people a great disservice, relegating them to a life of poverty and want. I repeat, there is nothing holy about being poor.In fact leading people to a life of poverty is criminal.
2. Diaspora
Joseph ,   London UK   (04.23.12)
Post-war there was a great need to replace the loss of a generation of Jewish learning, and the growth of yeshivahs and kollelim has done much to strengthen traditional Jewish life. Now the next step is to integrate into the mainstream workforce without losing one's deep values. We are not standing still.
3. Haredim working?
Larry ,   Or Yehuda   (04.23.12)
Meaning less jobs for real Jews?
4. Larry
Aryeh ,   Haifa, Israel   (04.23.12)
Fewer, not "less". Some of us dumb Haredim actually know English grammar and can use it properly. It's spelling that kills us (LOL).
5. Hire people that have finished their service
jason white ,   afula, israel   (04.23.12)
in the I.D.F. first. Do not discriminate against those that do reserve duty. The others do not count.
6. #3 and #5 - Do you want them working or not?
Henry from New York ,   USA   (04.23.12)
It's like how people complain about kharedim not serving in one breath and then say they're taking it over in another. Why does it seem that some in Israel cannot make up their minds?
7. No welfare, yes military: they will work
Elad ,   Houston/Israel   (04.24.12)
8. Talkbackers talk about Haredim
Kyle ,   Southpark, CO, USA   (04.24.12)
The same way that extreme right-wingers in the US talk about African-Americans.
9. #8 - Thank you.
Henry from New York ,   USA   (04.24.12)
10. Henry (#6) Similar to pre-WWII Europe: Those rich Jews!
(04.25.12)
...alternating with "those Jews: vermin infested dregs of poverty!" Make up your minds, folks. Actually the common denominator is the same: those minds have been made up. Hatred is the decider.
