1. We aint no Obama
Ronnbo ,   Thornhill   (04.10.12)
Yes, we show compassion. And our punishments fit the alleged crimes. So Obama, learn from your moral superiors. Release Pollard now!
2. to #1.
Spencer ,   Israel   (04.10.12)
Barak HUSSEIN Obama doesn't want to learn. With all his sweet talk just to gain Jewish votes, he is still an out and out narcissisist of the worst kind......only out to feather his own nest and on top of that absolutely anti Israel (and sometime I think, anti the USA). Just look at the difference in the crimes commited by Lieutenant-Colonel Omar al-Hayeb and Jonathan Pollard. The former spied for and enemy of the state and dealt in drugs and the latter gave information to a friendly State that should have been given anyway by the USA..That Pollards is still in prison stinks of anti semitism or anti Israel feelings or both.
3. This case is logic
Istvan ,   BUDAPEST HUNGARY   (04.10.12)
But where is the logic in the Pollard case ? Spying between two allies or friendly countries is impossible by common sense. To spy can be possible only two enemy countries. If Israel and the US are enemies no problem , but if they are friends no reason for spying.
4. Now ....
Sarah B ,   U.S.A. / Israel   (04.10.12)
... deport him to Southern Lebanon, where he can live amongst the terrorist scum he worked for. I'm sure they'll take wonderful care of his "medical condition." It's okay to venerate some members of a family and not all. There is an Edwin Booth theatre in New York City. There is no theatre named for his younger brother, John Wilkes Booth. Doesn't mean the whole family was bad .... but it doesn't mean that the bad apple in the bunch should be accorded special treatment.
5. no excuse for what he did. but his injuries would suggest
ralph   (04.10.12)
a medical basis for his actions. and subsequent idf response could have contributed. all in all a tragedy of first order. i wish him well an thank him for his services to israel and its citizens.
6. Before there was DEATH penality for traitors Israel is weak
(04.10.12)
7. I believe the figure of 14 dead from this
jason white ,   afula, israel   (04.10.12)
family is wrong. It should be 54 died in the service of the I.D.F. I served with members of this family and worked with them in security. I am not writing that he should not have been punished, but he should have been retired after he was wounded and was 99% disabled. This family contributed more to the state of Israel than any other family, group or sect.
8. Jason.Why did such a scion of patriotic family need to spy on IL.
Alan ,   SA   (04.10.12)
The whole thing puzzles me Jason
9. #1Ronnbo ! Pollard will be released
J.K. ,   Brooklyn USA   (04.10.12)
before the elections,in order to bring back hesitant Jews to the fold.
10. And Pollard rots...
Lila ,   Jerusalem, Israel   (04.10.12)
This man gave aid and comfort to the enemy in a time of war, which is the definition of treason, and yet he's in jail less than 10 years. Pollard helped an ally of the US and has been in jail for 26+ years, and is in much worse health than this guy!
11. was mistreated and handled wrongly. idf was wrong. end
