You have highlighted the naiivity of the rest of the world- there is no connecting flight between Gaza and the main airport to Israel - Ben Gurion- it only 55 km away- that's less than 4 minutes for a Grad missile. The "west bank" is 9 km from the airport. That's a twelve minute motorway drive. Get your facts right please and then understand the minute distances and enormous differences between those so called peace activists and the fact that they have no idea what they are talking about. Would you let these type of activists into your home town? The British went off to the Falklands for less and the Americans to Granada. Time for some European and American introspection here.
32. #26 Jim Dancer
Devorah   (04.11.12)
Hello Jim, 1. There is no West Bank. That territory is called Judea and Samaria. 2. These thugs are NOT coming to Israel for Passover nor to visit family. They are terrorists who are coming to make trouble for Israel on behalf of the fictitious "palestine." You obviously don't know the difference between Jews and arabs if you think someone would go to Gaza to celebrate Passover. Kindly introduce yourself to #6, and please try to keep up.
33. activists
Sam M ,   UK   (04.11.12)
Each time there's a 'flytilla' an 'aid convoy' or any other anti-Israel publicity stunt involving foreign 'activists' new housing starts in areas allegedly under 'occupation' should be announced to coincide with their arrival. At the very moment when the media spot light is focused on Israel in order to publicise the activities of these idiots and in turn blacken Israel's good name this would send out a clear message that Israel will not surrender to external pressure, is sovereign in it's own land and by implication the opinions of the activists are of no importance whatsoever. It would also be a very popular move with Jews in Israel and abroad who are sick and tired at the unrelenting campaign to demonise Israel!
34. close the airport
Rachel   (04.11.12)
deny them entry, close the airport, refuse to let the planes with the activists land- why the hoopla? Why let them board the planes in the first place? The US fines airlines that lets illegals and other undesirables board a flight.
35. #31 we get thew point rafi
Mari   (04.11.12)
I understand what you are saying- BUT: why let these activists INTO Israel in the first place? ELAL is responsible for their passengers- do they let activist get on board? Sue the airline, ground them. Other airlines? Any airlines letting activists and terrorists on board gets fined- if the US can do so can israel. Stop this pussyfooting. Why waste the time of 650 lawenforcers, this is ridiculous. The idea is to KEEP the people out, not let them get to israel and THEN turn them back. What a convoluted way to solve a problem.
36. #3. What sort of Humous is THAT?
Tim ,   Brighton   (04.11.12)
A Weapon of Mass...Excretion? Thats tantamount to torture!
37. The protesters have already won
leon ,   Britain   (04.11.12)
The idea of this protest is to expose Israel's response to peaceful resistance to the occupation of Palestine . Here on this talkback we see people demanding executions and barbarity. People from all around the world are allowed to protest in Britain against British policy ,it is called democracy, maybe you have heard of it?
38. #6 - democracies allow peaceful protests...
William ,   Israel   (04.11.12)
by its own citizens, not foreigners. Unless you believe that any idiot can show up in any foreign country and protest against that country, even instigating violence against them. I haven't seen one democracy allow that type of action - even the very liberal European ones. Plus these foreign instigators are entering a closed military zone, under a state of war, to join a belligerent population who has never done anything without violence. No law, convention, or rights charter states that Israel has to let them in. Your concept of democracy is truly warped.
39. To: No. 37
Sarah B ,   U.S.A. / Israel   (04.11.12)
Well, since the history of "peaceful" protests in Israel by the ersatz "Palestinians" and their toadies has been anything but peaceful. But you tipped your hand -- there is no such thing as "Palestine," therefore no "occupation." Haven't you heard? We won all the wars; they've rejected every opportunity for peace. You are either a sucker or extraordinarily stupid. Or both.
40. To nr 37
Istvan ,   BUDAPEST HUNGARY   (04.11.12)
Will you have the same opinion if after some years millions of muslim and coloured immigrants will protest and demonstrate for human rights and equality in central London ?
41. #37 - if they have already won, then they don't need to come
William ,   Israel   (04.12.12)
Just hearing from people like you who claim everyone has the right to enter Israel and violate their sovereignty on their way to a war zone, and that they've "won" is an indication of desperation and in that case.... Israel has already won.

john Darren ,   cairns-Australia   (04.13.12)
You really have no idea what is going on in the ME.Please educate yourself before posting.
43. To prove my point
leon ,   Britain   (04.13.12)
Read the comments above 3 of them think that shooting people who have not been convicted of any crime to be a reasonable response. Several think imprisonment without trial to be a reasonable response no 40. thinks black people dont have rights in Britain and should not have rights. Israel plays the victim and every unarmed person who is shot in the head with tear gas canister or run over with a bulldozer we are asked to believe is violent criminal or is an accident. Unfortunately the blood thirst on this talkback suggests differently. AS I SAID BEFORE "THE PROTESTERS HAVE ALREADY WON"
44. People from all around the world protest all around the worl
leon ,   Britain   (04.13.12)
Sorry to blow your delusions away but People from all around the world protest all around the world. The last time i protested in Britain with foreigners was about Libya. 10 of thousands of foreign people turned up from as far away as India to protest against the G20. And even as we speak there are Israeli people protesting with the far right group the English defence league and although i find there politics abhorrent i would not shoot them. Yes i know if you did this in Zimbabwe and a number of other places you would be brutalised. The question is does Israel want to be compared with these countries?
45. Peaceful demonstraters
Monty ,   London UK   (04.13.12)
If peaceful demonstrators wish to visit an area called by some Palestine, why don't they come via the stolen area that became Jordan. Surely it makes mores sense to come via Amman - orwould that not get them the headlines, orperhaps they are afraid that the brothers of the so called Palestinians, the Jordanians, would not give them a warm and friendly welcome?
46. @ 37
monty ,   London UK   (04.13.12)
Leon, you are obviously uneducated in the truth and history of the middle east conflict, and somewhat unaware of the laws of democracy where you live as well. Do you think that the democratic British government would allow planeloads of foreigners to come and demonstrate in London? Get real! Go and educate yourself before making more of a fool of yourself than you already have!
47. Monty 47 you are the ignorant one
Leon ,   Britain   (04.13.12)
In November 2009 10 of thousands of foreigners flew to Britain to protest. That is a hell of a lot more than the pint sized protest that is intended in Palestine. I cannot find any news reports of people being turned away because they intended to protest, maybe thats because we live in a democracy? The EDL are currently using their Israeli comrades as propaganda, let me guess you think its ok for Israeli people to protest in Britain and yet you think it is unacceptable for British people to protest in Israel. HYPOCRITE
48. Israelis protesting in Britain, how dare they!!
leon ,   Britain   (04.13.12)
Joel Ben Shuleman aka Joel Yossi from Hebron protests in Britain with the far right group the EDL. Should he be locked up without Trial? Should he be shot as no comment suggests for flytilla activists? All those who claim that foreigners that protest abroad should think again. 10's of thousands of foreigners flew to Britain on both November 09 and July 05 NOBODY WAS ARRESTED FOR PROTESTING BECAUSE THAT IS UNDEMOCRATIC If someone commits a crime that's another matter entirely
49. #6 Wrong x2
Steve ,   CA, USA   (04.14.12)
1. The people involved in the protests have shown themselves to be anything but peaceful. 2. a democracy should allow their own citizens to protest peacefully. That does not mean they are required to allow foreigners to enter their country to protest. If you think so, try it in Pyongyang or Mecca. There is plenty to protest in either location. Good luck.
50. #44 Better question . . .
Steve ,   CA, USA   (04.14.12)
"The question is does Israel want to be compared with these countries?" A better question might be: Does Israel want to be compared to Britain? How about a quote from (then) British Home Secretary Jacqui Smith about the ban on Dr Savage even visiting Britain: Smith said it was “important that people understand the sorts of values and sorts of standards that we have here, the fact that it’s a privilege to come and the sort of things that mean you won’t be welcome in this country.” Oops, there goes your silly arguements.
51. Dr savage is a proven racist
leon ,   Britain   (04.14.12)
and his racist comments are in print on the internet for anyone to read. The people on the flytilla are not going to have such luxury as being accused of actual crimes.that they have committed. WOOPS THERE GOES YOUR ARGUMENT
