61. #45, dear Tomek
ZOK   (04.13.12)
Is it true that you Poles are born anti semites and that one of your hobbies is to Vandalize Jewish cemeteries?
62. #45: Dear compatriot, how refreshing to see that all's well&
tom ,   el aviv   (04.13.12)
the same in my former "fatherland". The Polish obsession with all things Jewish is quite unique. Antisemitism comes and goes in tides all over the wretched, European continent but in your case it never really goes away, even when you've managed to make your Jews go away.... What was the price in silver pieces, that you've got from the communist Russia for each Jew expelled in 1968-69? I was one of them, so I'd like to know my worth
63. Chris, 46 & 47, I empathise with your feelings
Thomas Fischer ,   Melbourne, Australia   (04.13.12)
Chris, I do not endorse everything Mel Gibson has said or done in his private life. His drunken anti-semetic rants are well known, and deplorable. I know the sad history when Jews were persecuted by persons who thought themselves to be Christians, i.e. Roman Catholics and Russian Ortthodox. Such persons are not real Christians (I know this sounds lame to many Jewish ears). Many Christians are just as appalled as Jews are over these things, i.e. pogroms, Crusades, Spanish Inquisition and the holocaust. So i am sensitive to the fact that any movie about Yeshua's passion will touch some very tender wounds, and these events have left painful feelings for Jewish people. To the extent a gentile can share such pain, I empathise, and would never critiicise these feelings. As to how the film made me feel, I felt Jim Cavezal's portrait of Yeshua was more Jewish than even Franco Zeferelli's 1981 mini series Jesus of Nazareth. The use of Aramaic instead of English was a master stroke. But if the history of evil actions done against Jews makes it impossible for you to notice any good in the film, I don't criticise you or anyone who feels that way.

Am saying to you who said that jesus died not, didn't you read the koran sura 19 vs 33 that says that jesus died and resurected? Answer me you idiot!.
65. #45 You're a coward, Tomek.
Tahl   (04.13.12)
You obviously cannot provide a solid rebuttal to Meotti's essay, as you have zero substance to counter with. So you take the coward's way of attacking his and this site's credibility. And as you rant about "pro-Israeli propaganda", I suppose to take a good look at yourself too. All of your posts in this site, going back several years, contain nothing but blind, visceral hate to Israel and the Jews, including trivialization of the Holocaust, and condoning of blatant antisemitism. You are the last person to preach about impartiality.
66. The majority of Hollywood still loves Israel
Tahl   (04.13.12)
We do have many good people who support us in Hollywood and the showbiz industry: Stephen Spielberg, Demi Moore, Ashton Kutcher, Madonna, Bruce Willis, Sylvester Stallone, Arnold Schwarzenegger, Robert DeNiro, Jerry Seinfeld, Kevin Spacey, Kiefer Sutherland, Heidi Klum, Julia Roberts, Brad & Angelina, Adam Sandler, Jon Voigt, Kirk & Michael Douglas, Sarah Jessica Parker - to name but a few. The problem is that the voice of those few anti-Israel slimeballs over there, is heard much louder.
67. To: Josh at No. 24
Sarah B ,   U.S.A. / Israel   (04.13.12)
That's like saying that Charlton Heston did "work" for the Jews because he played Moses. Brando never worked again following his tirade against Jews.
68. To: No. 20
Sarah B ,   U.S.A. / Israel   (04.13.12)
The Arabs started each and every war against Israel. That's just documented fact. Do you expect Israel and the Jewish people to apologize for prevailing in each and every war? That just isn't going to happen.
69. To: No. 52
Sarah B ,   U.S.A. / Israel   (04.13.12)
I'm sure that Chris feels terribly about all those vile, violent and despicable ersatz "Palestinian" terrorists, and those pathetic and deluded "actors" who are not exactly grounded in reality. How about you? I'm betting you're saving all your "Christian forgiveness" for the likes of the Nazis who herded six million Jews into ditches and gas chambers, and for the ersatz "Palestinian" terrorists who are doing their best to fulfill the Nazi dream. Quite "Christian" of you, Rolf. Don't you think you had better shut up? Frankly, you should.
70. To: Moragh at No. 58
Sarah B ,   U.S.A. / Israel   (04.13.12)
Being a "devout" Moslem, I am certain that "Observer" does not indulge. Unless, of course, his "religion" means nothing to him. A possibility. Not necessarily a probability. More likely, Observer has been defective since birth. Oh well.
71. messenger of God
observer ,   Egypt   (04.13.12)
… If the messenger of God whom ye call Messiah were son of David, how should David call him lord? Believe me, for verily I say to you, that the promise was made in Ishmael, not in Isaac. ( Gospel of Barnabas Ch# 43 ) …And when I saw him my soul was filled with consolation, saying: "O Mohammed, God be with thee, and may he make me worthy to untie thy shoelatchet, for obtaining this I shall be a great prophet and holy one of God… ( Gospel of Barnabas Ch# 44 ).
72. grovelling Jews

thanking Meotti profusely for writing his Jew-baiting nonsense . How nauseating.
73. next week: Meotti's dog hates Israel

each week Ynet sends Meotti $30 and Meotti sends back another silly op-ed like this one. He knows what Ynetters want to read.

Hameed ,I don't like Arabs but 56or 67 ? Six day war is a classical example of preventive war OK the earth is flat ,only I didn't know about it ;)
75. #56 is closer to the truth than this article, however...
esnuffnstl ,   USA   (04.13.12)
...it is still wrong. Virtually every group on the planet has people that claim Hollywood is against them. Ever ask British folk about Hollywood? They are absolutely convinced that they are always portrayed as the bad guys. The same goes with American Christians. The bottom line is there are enough Hollywood films, with enough plots, that every group that can be identified has, at one time or another, been presented as being evil. Most numerous times. The same goes with the numerous Hollywood actors: there are actors against pretty much every nation/cause on the planet (as well as being actors that are FOR virtually every nation/cause on the planet.) The author of the article desperately needs a hobby. He does Israel no favors by constantly cherry-picking facts/events to suit his narrative that Israelis are an aggrieved party. Given Israel is the strongest nation in the ME, the only nuclear power, and has the backing of the world's sole superpower...it's a little pathetic to spend all your days (as the author seems to do) trying to find people who dislike you.
76. The Nanny did run on Jordanian tv
C ,   Israel   (04.13.12)
I don't read Arabic so no idea how they dealt with Fran Drescher's Jewish jokes but the show was on Jordanian tv years ago
77. #62
Tomek ,   Poland   (04.13.12)
If you were forced to leave Poland after the March '68 events, then I do understand your resentment. The wholesale purge of our society should not have happened. But it does not change the fact that Meotti is a propagandist of the worst kind. His pieces are always about how ugly other societies are and how Jews and Israeli causes are being wronged left, right, and center. Of curse, the Israeli public will lap this nonsense up and feel more united against the external, typically European, evil. But anybody with half a brain should see through it.
78. #65
Tomek ,   Poland   (04.13.12)
You obviously do not understand the meaning of the word 'hate'. Somehow I feel that this word is overused on this site. I hope this does not reflect the society as a whole. I give you some credit, though. Meotti's stuff is not, per se, pro-Israeli propaganda. He is simply anti-everything else. Israelis are too smart to believe the nonsense he produces.
79. #62 - Tom

That was like a dagger through the heart. It actually caught my breath. I am so sorry.
80. #78
Tahl   (04.13.12)
Trust me, all of us here can recognize hate when we see it, pretty damn well. I've been following your trolling in this site for years. When you voice support to a Holocaust denier's organized trips to Auschwitz, when you very easily condone the actions of antisemitic hooligans in Poland's football fields, when you echo Gunther Grass's lies and distortions, when you call the rockets that landed on my town as "glorified firecrackers", while calling the IDF's strikes "indiscriminate", and when for years, you have not one word of genuine support of Israel to balance - then all you have is hate. We recognize your type in a heartbeat.
81. #80
Tomek ,   Poland   (04.13.12)
Are you making notes or what? I do not remember what I had for breakfast this morning, let alone what I wrote years ago. I am not sure who gave you the right to speak on behalf of 'all of us here' but I am typically wary of people who usurp the right to speak on behalf of a group.
82. To#79 and others: don't feel bad, actually we should erect a
tom ,   tel aviv   (04.13.12)
statue to Gomulka (the Polish premier at the time) for saving us & our children's future! But #45 makes a wonderfully antisemitic reference to the 30 silver-pieces Judas allegedly got for betraying Jesus . Just like the scorpion from the pond-crossing tale: Tomek cannot help himself, thet's his nature....

Bernard Lazare: Antisemitism: Its History and Causes "To make the history of antisemitism complete, omitting none of the manifestations of this sentiment and following its divers phases and modifications, it is necessary to go into the history of Israel since its dispersion, or, more properly speaking, since the beginning of its expansion beyond the boundaries of Palestine. Wherever the Jews settled after ceasing to be a nation ready to defend its liberty and independence, one observes the development of antisemitism, or rather anti-Judaism; for antisemitism is an ill chosen word, which has its raison d'etre only in our day, when it is sought to broaden this strife between the Jew and the Christians by supplying it with a philosophy and a metaphysical, rather than a material reason. If this hostility, this repugnance had been shown towards the Jews at one time or in one country only, it would be easy to account for the local causes of this sentiment. But this race has been the object of hatred with all the nations amidst whom it ever settled. Inasmuch as the enemies of the Jews belonged to divers races, as they dwelled far apart from one another, were ruled by different laws and governed by opposite principles; as they had not the same customs and differed in spirit from one another, so that they could not possibly judge alike of any subject, it must needs be that the general causes of antisemitism have always resided in Israel itself, and not in those who antagonized it."
84. #83: I must admit to being in awe every time I come upon a
tom ,   tel aviv   (04.13.12)
person of your persuasion. Just like being in a boat, close to Niagara Falls one is lost for words (momentarily), so am I reading your citation of that classic antisemitic manure. If it makes you feel any better, there are many members of our tribe that actually have been persuaded to think exactly that of themselves and of our ancestors. It is a common phenomenon well known to psychologists, just ask one (while you're having a session to cure you of the disease). The truth is quite different: what is common to these manifestations of antisemitism is pure and simple envy of the Jewish tribe's clear superiority when compared to these "hosts". I don't think I should feel false modesty in the name of "Egalite&Fraternite", not really. There is no other explanation for the disproportionate number of Jewish achievements (especially in the light of adversary conditions) so please crawl back to your pungent cave, plug in ear-buds & listen to Wagner while you read Nietzsche and drool .....
85. and is israel against hollywood?

Anna ,   Montreal, Canada   (04.13.12)
I congratulate you on coming to the right conclusion about your ability to use your brain. Because the full brain user will never say a Jew he doesn't understand the word "hate"? Mr. Meotti serves interests of the Israeli readers not Polish. He points out specifically on the incidents of the anti-Israeli/ Antisemitic acts. Don't try to shut-up us the Jews on our website talking and discussing our relations with the world. You don't represent the world. But I fully agree you represent the majority of the Pols. Being there, seeing and I will never forget.
87. split's Jewish obsession
Anna ,   Montreal, Canada   (04.13.12)
There are many believe they are Napoleon or Jesus, or someone else when they are really nobody. And only Jews no matter how it's hard decide to stick with their Jewish believes. While your choice of the author and his paragraph is very subjective and doesn't give explanation to the fact that through the history the Jews were not spared of the prosecutions despite of converting to the other religions or abandoned completely the religion in all forms. But your interest in this matter is at least encouraging. Keep reading. Maybe one day you'll be able to explain why Hitler loved music of Strauss so much he had to hide the fact Strauss family converted to Christianity.

Didn't bother to check B. Lazare's roots - Your arrogance is a one of the reasons why you got expelled from 109 nations and places since 250 AD.
