1. Let them swim!
Sarah B ,   U.S.A. / Israel   (04.13.12)
Alternatively, let them shift their tickets to Damascus as a destination. Plenty of humanitarian issues in Syria, these days. None in Israel. "Violation of international law?" How? Lufthansa is a German company, and has every right to decide who may or may not board its planes. That said, there are plenty of GENUINE violations of international law throughout the world. I suppose these alleged "activists" can have their tickets rewritten to Damascus. Or are they far too cowardly to actually venture into a place where there are REAL humanitarian issues to which they can lend their plaintive and rather silly bleats?
2. no more terror friends to bother us
ruth ,   jerusalem israel   (04.13.12)
wow this is impressive. dont care what the real reasons are but we sure dont need any more nasties in our part of the world good riddance to them, let them go and bleat their nonsense in in syria
3. Internation Law
Jorge ,   Israel/USA/Argentina   (04.13.12)
The so called "International Law" is the 4th convention of Geneva "International Humanitarian Law". By reading all the articles, it is hard to understand which is the article that Israel is violating. The definition of of occupation is the invasion from one country to another. Example: Turkey in North Cyprus, Iran in Hawar Islands, Iran occupation by Hezboallah to Lebanon, etc. The international airlines are not part of any articles. Delta airlines is forbidding Jewish people to fly any combination fly to Saudi Arabia or any passenger non Jew to wear a cross. This is also violation of the International Law. It seems that the International Law referred suppose to be re-named as "International Nuremberg Laws"
4. "Flyin" via Syria...
Leslie ,   Canada   (04.13.12)
where their faux humanitarianism is actually needed.
5. #1 Are you kidding? The damn cowards
Ryan ,   Laguna Beach, Calif   (04.13.12)
will never go to North Uganda, Syria or Bahrain. There is no value for them in countries where they can be decapitated and never heard of again but Israel is another matter. Israel will treat them with respect that international garbage does not deserve and it will also care for their needs despite the violations and abuse of privileges. Who breeds such viral flesh? They should have been aborted at birth. They are not "humanists" but ugly, ignorant dirt.
6. # 1, you're right
Evan ,   Israel   (04.13.12)
7. No violation of International law
Sagi   (04.13.12)
It is very plain and simple. No airline is obliged to carry a passenger who may be under threat of immediate deportation upon arrival at destination. The reason being that said airline would be obliged to carry them back to point of departure, gratis.
8. fly in organizers
Frank Mazuca ,   Lakeland, Florida, U   (04.13.12)
The flytilla is dubbed welcome to Palestine and yet they are flying into Tel Aviv. Since liberation in 1948 and before the State of Israel is recognized by the UN, something the supporters of the Egyptians & Jordanians living in Israel and the West Bank/Gaza do not want to accept. The destruction of Israel is their goal. For them to claim a violation of international law is saying a country needs to allow whoever which to enter is totally absurd is their politics.
9. Armed Groups recommended reading
ASTRONAUT ,   USA   (04.13.12)
Recommended reading for all: ARMED GROUPS - Studies in National Security, Counterterrorism, and Counterinsurgency. Edited by Jeffrey H. Norwitz, Naval War College, Newport, RI, USA. This weighty volume of essays by various specialists, begins historically with Pirates, Vikings and Teutonic Knights, and ravels into present -day encounters with terrorists, both domestic and foreign. These "flytilla" flies and cockroaches, are merely the hatchlings of the VERMIN who've been preying on the civilized world for centuries. And yes, to crush them is the objective.
10. Danke schon, Lufthansa
ASTRONAUT ,   USA   (04.13.12)
Danke schon, Thank You, Lufthansa and to our German allies, and all allies who STAND AGAINST intimidation by international and domestic terrorists.
11. "Violation of international law" is a washed-up,empty slogan
Tahl   (04.13.12)
Israel-haters use it incessantly, often with no real basis in reality. Would they care to elaborate exactly which "international law" Lufthansa is breaking?
12. To: Ryan at No. 5
Sarah B ,   U.S.A. / Israel   (04.13.12)
I agree. So much easier to "protest" in a democratic and tolerant country (that would be Israel) than to "protest" genuine humanitarian violations in places where such protests are genuinely needed. To call them "cowards" maligns all decent "cowards." They are hypocrites, who value their pitiful lives above all else, which is why you will never see them in North Uganda, Syria, Bahrain, or any other place where they might not be able to plug in their iPads, iPhones or enjoy creature comforts such as food and air conditioning. I don't think it is possible to abort at birth, but I agree with you that these despicable cowards and phony hypocrites should have been aborted. They use up valuable oxygen. To call them "dirt" also maligns dirt, which is useful for growing things. "Ugly" and "ignorant," on the other hand, is an absolute given. And to think they consider themselves poorly treated in "violation of international law." Yuk. Where is their concern for the ongoing violations of international law in so many, many other places? And Israel is supposed to take them seriously? Hippies who took a wrong turn in 1968, and their delusional offspring. Whatever happened to Volkswagen buses and communes? As long as these deluded souls live, isn't that just about their speed? If they actually had humanitarian principles, they'd be busy working away in the places which the world has clearly forgotten. Just a bunch of spoiled, overfed -- and likely overweight -- pretenders, who are not in the least bit interested in humanitarian endeavors.
13. good for lufthansa
Scott ,   Ramat Gan, Israel   (04.13.12)
These fly-in activists are ignorant idiots & anti-semites. They chose the busiest travel holiday when many Israelis will be returning from Passover holiday. I will not fly airlines such as British Airways that allow these bigots to come here & spread their hate.
14. they won't enter the country anyway
Raoul ,   Jerusalem, Israel   (04.13.12)
so if the company let them fly to israel they would be obliged to take them return right away and which company would deliberately make such a nonsense?? send them to damascus, there they can find loats of human right abuses!
15. If life is all milk and honey in the West Bank for the Pales
Magpie 101   (04.13.12)
Surely it is harming Israel's cause if you prevent people from seeing the true picture of what is happening in Bethlehem. All this response by Israel proves is that Israel has something to hide
16. Where is Palestine ?
Gabe ,   Canada   (04.13.12)
Palestine as such, ceased to exist at the end of the British Mandate. The State of Israel is the proper name.
17. Money talks
sk ,   USA   (04.13.12)
Israel ought to pass laws making it extremely cost prohibitive to deter these idiots ... that in order to be released from custody, they would have to pay very very steep fines and purchase or show proof of return passage, or remain in custody indefinitely PLUS pay for their food and incidentals while in Israeli prison.
18. No 15 - Go away
Emma ,   Arab Occupied London   (04.13.12)
Israel has absolutely nothing to hide but she has every right to stop people who support terrorists and whose aim is cause mischief and do harm to the country from entering. Every country exercises the same right right why do you not allow Israel to? I know, because you apply double standards and will do or say anything that you think harms Israel. Well you have failed much like your friends will fail.
19. what is wrong with these people
arlene   (04.13.12)
havent they anything better to do. Probably jobless and bored. They are in no way peace activists, they are provocators and the best way to gaza is via Egypt, so by coming via Israel ...provocation! Todays headlines, tomorrow forgotten. Maybe a trick to take eyes off of syria while assad ignores the un request!
20. Propaganda
deziderio ,   Milano   (04.13.12)
Detailedresearch reveals that the Arab\Islamist propaganda machine has spent $100 billion over the last two decades propagating lies!!!This money could have been used to promote peace and improve the lives of millions.Deligitimised the right of the State of Israel to exist, when in fact it is the only nation in the wold whose right to exist has been endorsed by bothThe league of nations and the United Nations
21. THANK YOU LUFTHANSA
DA URBAN POET ,   SAFED OPERA HOUSE   (04.13.12)
But it is a pity Israel does not permit entry for these troublemakers and then ,when they break the law here ,to arrest them ,give them a trial and then a long and heavy jail sentence . These losers will then learn that Israel is not to be messed with.
22. "Bash-a-Jew" activists not interested in Syria...
Cant fool us bigots ,   We're watching you 2   (04.13.12)
Sickening. These morons have not the slightest interest in tackling the real problems like what's happening in Syria. No protests about Assad are there? No, these people are just straight out bigots using 'human rights' as a platform to cover their prejudice.
23. #15 Rubbish. Nothing to hide - just morons to stop wasting
Scott   (04.13.12)
everyone's time. These people are imbeciles.
24. Ask for a visa now, stop free entrance in Israel
Yossef   (04.13.12)
25. To: No. 15
Sarah B ,   U.S.A. / Israel   (04.13.12)
Exactly WHAT is happening in Bethlehem? The last time anything really awful happened in Bethlehem, it was when Moslem "ersatz" Palestinian militants took over one of the principle Christian shrines. Israel has nothing to hide. But that doesn't mean that Israel has to let in violent agitators, either. You truly are a magpie -- nothing to contribute, just a lot of mimicry. Poor, poor, pitiful you.
26. Let's be nice guys .....
Ivan ,   South Africa   (04.13.12)
All flytilla activists can arrive at BG International Airport at a landing cost of $25,000 per head, non-returnable (payable in advance). ha,ha,ha

Marco   (04.13.12)
The middle east is falling apart and you are obsessed with areas that have some of the highest obesity rates and highest quality of of life in the middle east. You need to check your priorities.
29. #21 you have a good point BUT
arlene   (04.13.12)

30. Iraq to pass bill banning travel to Israel now Israel do it.

The right to travel is a human right concept that the constitutions of numerous states respect.
