Mr Fatih, Why don't you have a chat with Ragip Zarakolu, the publisher recently released from a Turkish jail, about the merits of democracy in Turkey.
62. I LOVE IT

63. Wrong response!
Gunnar ,   Gothenburg, Sweden   (04.15.12)
That these so called "peace activists" are biased and ill-informed is no secret. But it would've been better if Israel had chosen a different approach. Instead of pointing to Iran, Syria and whatnot, Israel should do THE OPPOSITE of what these countries are doing. Not the same, by shutting the world out. Israel should say: "We've got nothing to hide, come in an see for yourselves and then maybe you'll understand the differences between us and the Arab dictatorships". By closing its doors, Israel regrettably resorts to the same tactics as the very countries it points to in the letter. It's unfortunate.

Short answer hell yes - you are another Muslim dictatorship. As an ally of the terrorist nation of Iran and the terrorist group Hamas - you are also war criminals.
68. #51 & #52 One simple challenge
Gee ,   Zikron Yaakov   (04.15.12)
Provide a single legal claim for 'Palestinian land' - if you cannot then shut the fuck up because you haven't a clue about what you write. The Arabs have stolen our land, not the other way around.
69. Peace activists
Henry Weil ,   Jerusalem   (04.15.12)
Letter ok but let them in let them see how Ramallah is prosperous and Hebron shopping mall, why are we afraid of some 1000 so called activists, seems that the Goverment fails to understand today Palestinien Israeli conflict is a ''CAUSE CELEBRE'' for left wing activists it does more good to their cause by banning them, which is their goal
70. letter
rm ,   nl   (04.15.12)
I don't think this is the way to behave for a government....should have left that for the pro-Israel activists.... I don't agree with the flytilla but I also don't agree with Israel's attitude towards the Palestinians
71. No. 44 I agree
hwi ,   Germany   (04.15.12)
that such a letter is more of an embarrassment to a sovereign country / government than anything else. I get a little nagging feeling that Israeli politicians and government and the people in general are way too sensitive about their image in the world . Just DO your stuff and don't start whining if someone hates you for it ! Turn them back at the airport with a short spoken statement and that's it. Don't be so embarassingly defensive and selfconcious.
72. Paid demonstrators
Art Donovan ,   Chicago   (04.15.12)
You are not supposed to cash the check. The world media is paid - direct or indirectly - to convince you that you're fighting for a righteous cause. You get no information other than from the media or interesants. YOu refuse to read Israeli papers. So, how could you possibly know the truth?
73. Grammar
Esteban Quito ,   Cordoba Argentina   (04.15.12)
When in China, after a few days our English teacher found herself talking as an analphabet, because she was unwillingly adapting to the local street level of English. Same with Israeli politicians - they speak with poorly educated counterparts. An additional reason: they hire only their own kind.
74. Exceptionally good written letter
Geula ,   Israel   (04.15.12)
My salute to the author! It is truth, it is the whole truth and it is written with wits and humour, short and to the point. Congrats!
75. in case anyone still thought Israel is a democracy...
Michael Lesher ,   Passaic NJ, USA   (04.15.12)
... Not only are its state institutions for Jews only, its prime minister denies responsibility for the actions of his own country. In what other state that boasts of liberal institutions is political protest illegal until every other country's problems are solved? And this is the country that demands enormous subventions from my government and claims to act on my behalf, as a Jew. Yet I have no right to criticize what is done with my tax money and in my name...? Have they all gone mad?
76. I love it , but investigate who pays for the flight
rachel ,   usa   (04.15.12)
77. #38 you're assuming they are smart , but their behavior is
rachel ,   usa   (04.15.12)
not .
78. Im confused
me ,   israel   (04.15.12)
From one hand you always says that Israel is not a democracy, so when we act like we are NOT democracy, you feel mislead, so what are we? seriously now, everyone can protest freely in Israel, but these guys are not coming to protest, they come to make problems; all protests in israel are being done in civilized way with no provocations or violance, we are not barbaric (last year we had half a million ppl in the streets with no violance like Paris, London, egypt etc)
79. Great letter!

Michael ,   California, USA   (04.15.12)
You are correct, I don't get out much to synagogues in Jerusalem. From the outside they all look the same. You have enlightened me a lot about Jerusalem. No comparison to California is needed.
82. RE:#44
Sol Grazi ,   TEkoa, IS   (04.16.12)
Do not think for a moment that any of these 'idealists' are unfamiliar with the issues. They paid a lot of money to make trouble. This letter was custom made for them.
83. Flytilla Useful Idiots
Fourthfilos ,   USA   (04.16.12)
I have a better idea. Deport them to Gaza and LEAVE THEM THERE. Let them live in the world they want to create.
84. I hope they do not compare us to Syria
