1. We've been deceived...
Ethiopian ,   Israel   (04.15.12)
Israel is a racist state. We've been deceived and we continue to be treated as third class citizens.
2. Whoever does not like it here can go

back to where they came from. I am tired of all these groups protesting and dissing Israel. If it was good for you in the f.s.u. or ethiopia, then return. All groups of immigrants coming to Israel should receive benefits equal to what they left behind. Olim from the west should receive better benefits than those from the second or third world.
3. Noam Shalit

I have only one thing to say. Noam Shalit is going all out to make a name for himself to further is aim to get into politics.

it isn't in politics.
7. Israel is the most wonderful country in the world
Ethiopian too ,   Israel   (04.16.12)
Israel gave us so much and we made a lot of progress compared to the conditions we had back in Ethiopia. There is more that can be done and only time and education of the next generation will solve this. We should not let haters tell us to be ungrateful to our loving brothers. Am Israel Chai
8. THANK YOU for your support. Mr. Noam Shalit.

is one of the best countries in the world for treating its citizens equally. I doubt there is a country in this world where our Ethiopian citizens would be treated better. That is not to say that there isn' t prejudice, just that I doubt there is a country on earth where they would be treated better. I also feel that they may sometimes think that criticism may be racial when it isn't. For example. when on a daily basis, several Ethiopian gentlemen go into our garbage shed, root through the garbage and then leave garbage all over the floor and the door to the shed open for all the cats to get in, people are justifiably annoyed. Or when the teenagers stayed out all night in the lovely, new children's playground all night, drinking, vandalizing and burning the equipment, people were justifiably angry. This anger and annoyance was not about being "Ethiopian" but about upsetting behaviour. There are many Russian Jews on our street as well. I am disturbed at how many of these folks take their dogs for a walk and stand and watch as their dog does its business on the sidewalk and then wlkl away and leave it there. I don't like this behaviour either, but it is the behaviour, not the fact that they originate from Russia. If I see some American youth with their feet on the seats on the bus.....it is the behaviour, not the fact that they are American. On another note, I think it is a disgrace that Noam Shalit will do anything to get a boost into politics
10. To nr 1 -the Ethiopian. Israel is a JEWISH homeland..
Alexander ,   Tel Aviv, Israel   (04.16.12)
..not Ethiopian. Israel is not a Russian, German, Polish, Moroccan or Persian either. Well, that's the problem. If you consider yourself to be an Ethiopian you have no place in my country. I am Jewish. My father is Jewish. My mother is Jewish. My grandparents - my maternal and paternal grandparents were all Jewish. As far as I know my family and relatives on both my parents' sides have been Jewish at least for 4-5 generations. Abraham, Isaac and Jacob were Israelites/Jews - not Ethiopians. The twelve tribes of Israel were Israelites/Jews. Moses and Joshua were Israelites/Jews. The judges, the prophets and the kings (among them King Saul, David and Solomon) of ancient Israel were Israelites/Jews. The ancient Israelites were as the name correctly suggests - Israelite/Jewish. The Jews that ended up in the Babylonian exile were Israelites/Jews. The Jews that fought the Roman occupation 2000 years ago were Jews. Bar Kochba, Joseph Flavius were Israelites/Jews. The Jews that lived for centuries in exile in the Middle East, Europe and Russia were Jews. The question is: are you my friend really Jewish? If yes, why do you call yourself "Ethiopian"? Ethiopian in what sense? In an ethnic sense? Well, then you are not Jewish and you and I are not the same national and ethnic group. Or - does Ethiopian simply mean to you that you were born in Ethiopia or that your parents were born in Ethiopia? But, then you have to explain to me your logic: if you are Jewish and you came to Israel because you want to live among your Jewish countrymen, why then, do you accuse us of "racism" but on the other hand speak of "we Ethiopians" and the "the others"? I thought you consider all of us as Jews? You can't both reject 99% of the Jewish people that is white and non Ethiopian and still accuse us of "racism".
11. for G_d sake....
les ,   canada   (04.16.12)
noam, just SHUT UP! you have done enough demage to israel!
12. 2012, #2, and Noam Shalit
R ,   Israel   (04.16.12)
The Ethiopians should not have to protest. But if their children are segregated at schools (not all schools do this but that isn't the point: none should do it) they have every right to protest. It is 2012, and instead of progressing, the world is going backwards. #2, Olim from the west should get less benefits because they are better able to manage on their own. About Noam Shalit, kol hakavod that you are supporting this cause and not turning your back just because your family's situation has been resolved. This is honorable.
13. to #12 You are wrong. Olim from the west
jason white ,   afula, israel   (04.16.12)
gave up more than those from the f.s.u. or ethiopia. Why should we spend our own money on alyah and the others receive funds and housing from the government? Enough already and concentrate on bringing over more olim from the west, especially the young before or after university. We are tired of ungrateful people protesting and receiving whatever they want from a PC government. The rest of us do not want to work to support those that do not want help themselves or are too old to work.Or just refuse to work.
14. Noam Shalit thinks anyone is interested in what he says
Benjamin ,   Ramat HaSharon   (04.16.12)
since his son who fell asleep at his job was released from captivity causing the release of 1000 terrorists from prison - one of the most foolish and dangerous steps the government of Israel took. Noam, you'd become a hero if you, your wife, Gilad and the rest of your family, would have the courage to thank G-d daily for the great kindness He did to you and your family; by start acting like a true Jew; by putting on tefillin daily, keep Shabbat, kashrut, etc.
