91. bibi, buraq and the I.D.F. will throw this
jason white ,   afula, israel   (04.16.12)
officer under the bus. We need new elections and a new coalition. Time to clean out the General Staff and all the PC officers.
92. they have no right being here
angie ,   jerusalem   (04.16.12)
next time let them visit the projects in chicago
93. He racted with restraint to extreme procvocation
James McNamara ,   LA US   (04.16.12)
Have you Israeli's gone mad,is this how you treat your soldiers, who are doing a great job in very difficult and dangerous circumstances. He did what was needed to be done......End of story
94. Get ready for the massive cover-up.
Daniel ,   Jerusalem, Israel   (04.16.12)
Don't worry. He'll be back within a day or two. His nation needs him for such important duty. Who knows what those cyclists could have done? VERY dangerous people.
95. #8 Solidarity with Col Eisner!!!
Cynthia ,   USA   (04.16.12)
He showed restraint for two hours while these losers provoked and attacked him. His experience demonstrates precisely why these pests must be barred from entering Israel. That said, Eisner's rifle butt in face technique should be added to the IDF training manual.
96. EVERY ACTIVIST DESERVES
DA URBAN POET ,   SAFED OPERA HOUSE   (04.16.12)
A hard smack in the face. Shalom Eisner is a great hero .
97. ARSEWIPE ACTIVIST GOT OFF LIGHT
DA RAP ARTIST ,   SAFED OPERA HOUSE   (04.16.12)
Israel is hated anyway ,so why take nonsense from the antisemitic hypocrite terrorist supporters? The young troublemaker was fortunate to only get a smack in his smelly face ,he should have also been jailed for years with only stale pita bread and water in a stinking dungeon .Israel has been far too soft and lenient with these evil louts. ENOUGH.
98. To # 6
Philip ,   Afula, Israel   (04.16.12)
You got it right,he is brutal dumb and certainly unprofessional. But I would say that he is certainly NOT typical of IDF officers of his rank and its just as well.
99. My sympathy to LtCol..I hope his hand gets better.
Alan ,   SA   (04.16.12)
Obviously our enemies in EU will abuse this.
100. A MEDAL FOR COL .EISNER

kol hakavod idf should make him general bravo Shalom
103. #21 you're right, why haven't we?
ygalg ,   israel   (04.16.12)
unless it appears we're indeed the big bad wolf, who desire to assure this de facto unrevealed. otherwise we would have been, transparent in ths kind of event. and this is the message perceived from the government and IDF
104. Netanyahu- BETRAYS SOLDIER
David Jacobs ,   Israel   (04.16.12)
I agree with #4. Netanyahu is a liar.Lientenant Colonel Eisner risked his life for the Jewish People and should not be betrayed by Netanyahu. I am scared of having my son serve in an army whose Prime Minister and commanders betray their soldiers. With Love of Am Yisrael David Jacobs
105. Warped reporting....yet again!
Talula ,   Israel   (04.16.12)
It's all about the soldier, what about these thugs? What happened to them? They broke his finger, that's assault. Are they still roaming around looking for more trouble - or does Bibi, in his infinite wisdom not see that?
106. No big deal
Sam M ,   UK   (04.16.12)
Israel should stand by this IDF officer! He clearly faced provocation at the hands of these morons! The activists disobeyed his order to disperse. They openly support the delegitimisation of Israel as a Jewish state and routinely lie with the sole intention of demonising Israel. The restrictions placed on the Israeli security forces amount to a very civilised code of conduct and are plain for all to see! Just compare to syria and the rest of the muslim world! The officer was also attacked and wounded! What normal person wouldn't feel like knocking seven bells out of this wooly haired wanker and may in a heated moment briefly lose his rag? The injury to the activist was moreover a great deal less severe than injuries caused by the british police force for example in the recent london riots from ample use of their batons to disperse crowds of protesters. The fact that these hypocritical hate filled activists have nothing to say about the terrible crimes taking place all over the muslim world says it all. Lets not get carried away by what is a relatively minor incident which has been blown out of all proportion by the activists to make up for the failure of their flytilla!
107. Ehud Barak
israel israeli ,   tel aviv   (04.16.12)
The military's job is to guard perimeters. If these were US marines, the moment the yobs crossed the line they would be shot dead. Professional provocateurs should not be handled by the military but by riot police like the YSM. If the Danish yob looked at them wrong or cursed them, the YSM would have arrested him for insulting a police officer. He would be paralyzed with pain, but the cameras would see nothing. The question is why did Barak send soldiers instead of YSM? Just like on Mavi Marmara, it seems Barak always makes choices that are calculated to hurt Israel the most.
108. may God speaks for Eisner
yuehhua ,   taiwan   (04.16.12)
I pray for you Shalom Eisner, may God speaks for you and proves that you didn't make wrong thing in this incident.
109. The injured activist must sue...
Dan the Jafa ,   Auckland, NZ   (04.16.12)
... for breach of privacy - his face now is a true reflection of his soul.
110. Typical Ynet reporting
Shmuel Arnovson ,   Jerusalem, Israel   (04.16.12)
Of course, the entire article is a transcript of the IDF officer's account of events, with absolutely no mention whatsoever of the man who was beaten's. Despite the fact that nearly all other news agencies decided to include both, so it's not as if it's not availible. This is either amazingly lousy reporting or amazingly biased reporting.
111. Thats a joke..
Michael ,   Belgium   (04.16.12)
Compared to what settlers get from the soldiers in protests, they get beaten 10x worse than that. Because he has a foreign passport thats why it made a lot of noise.....disrimination. Look on videos of amona. Those people shouldn't belong in the army. That's it.
112. Poor Bugger!
andyboy ,   Israel   (04.16.12)
(The officer I mean) He is about to be sacrificed on the alter of world opinion because of an edited propaganda video. This is what we have come to - trial by You Tube! "Innocent until proven guilty"? - not any more.
113. Suspended? HELL he should run for PRIME MINISTER!!!!!!......
Bravo ,   Israel   (04.16.12)
If we had leaders like this in the government we wouldn't HAVE a fraction of the problems we have in this country. Good man. Kol ha kavod!
114. Why don't they go help the Syrians?
(04.16.12)
I'll tell you why - because the chances of them leaving Syria in a coffin are very high - stupid assholes.
115. Too many talkbacks to read all, so just
Arlene   (04.16.12)
want to say GOOD FOR YOU LT COL EISNER!!! clear case of self defense. OK now lets see the pallys do a photoshop job on this, probably end up with a dead Dane! Israeli government STAND BY YOUR MAN!!!!
116. did it hurt?
observer ,   Egypt   (04.16.12)
Yes!, now Israel's tourism is going to suffer a big deal.
117. #116 ..not a too observant egyptian
meghan ,   israel   (04.16.12)
from what I see Your tourism isnt doing too good is it??? just checked ours and Israel ...full house! A lot due to Israel supporters coming because of these activist trouble makers. So maybe they have actually upped our tourism count. Good for that Lt Col, and hey IDF you dont have to make excuses or prove anything, he did what any person would...defend themselves and isnt that what Israel has been trying to do!!!
118. #113
Cheryl ,   Chicago, IL, USA   (04.16.12)
