31. Unacceptable
peter ,   tel aviv israel   (04.16.12)
while the officers action is unacceptable so are the circumstances which led to the event. Bibi and his friends caused this through the hype over the flytilla. Let them come raise their banners and march for a while. What do we care. As long as those individuals protest peacefully let them it shows we are a functioning democracy. If as claimed the officer was assaulted prior to the action the IDF has to change its approach towards such demonstrations with a schooled riot unit. The IDF is bearing the brunt and criticism for an event that should have been dealt with by the riot police not the IDF. The politicians who create those situations not our soldiers are to blame for those events. The officer served this country for a long time to defend it and did not sign up to run after foreign demonstrators. We simply have to accept the fact that people inside as well as outside the country have a right to voice opposition towards policies of our governments. It is wrong to unload the responsibility onto the in volved officer solely.
32. BAD FOR ISRAEL
AMERICAN HINDU ,   USA   (04.16.12)
I do not know what really happened there or what led up to the incident. However Israelis should be careful and not lose the propaganda war. The Arabs are very smart in manipulating the media and people by portraying themselves as the victim. Israelis should do a better job and counter the Arab lies with the truth. Why not let the Danes and Swedes to meet Jewish refugees from Islamic lands and let them hear their stories???
33. Investigation Needed
joe sombrero ,   usa   (04.16.12)
Why Gantz, Peres, Bibi blamed Eisner before he was investigated. Why the people rushing to judgement are leftist If that had been a settler there would have been silence.
34. I cant stop watching that video!
(04.16.12)
I was there and I can tell you that that "peaceful" gang was moving on very menacingly - until the army came. They did not get the hint and continued harrassing th e officers verbally and physically by pushing their way through the army cordon, cursing and insulting. I was wondering when one of the officers around will crack and respond in kind. In "peaceful" Iran or Syria, the dictators would send terror police, the Basji - on motorcycles with swords and hack at the demonstrators, so these racist freaks can consider themselves lucky to have met the Israeli Army and not the thugs serving the Syrian and Iranian dictatorships. But then these "peace activists" always enjoy picking at democracies because it's safer and easier. They are just a heap of crappy, jobless racists with a lot of hared and no brains and hearts! This time that obscene and impertinent freak got a bleeding nose. In Teheran he would have simply disappeared! What a pathetric freak show are these racists! I despise each and every one of them because I know for a fact that what motivates them is racism and anti-Semitism - not genuine love and concern for human life!
35. Deserves a medal for not killing him
Moshe ,   Jerusalem Israel   (04.16.12)
F*** these Palestinian supporters, if they were annoying me for over two hours I would have shot them. All who condemn this officer have not been in the same situation as he was.
36. Polical Correctness BS
sk ,   USA   (04.16.12)
IDF leave the colonel alone! He is trained as military not as a wimp!!! These provocateurs are taking advantage of Israel. Unlike in most other Middle East nations, they know that they will not be shot at, or imprisoned and tortured.
37. to hospital??? #1
f ,   tsefat   (04.16.12)
with broken fingers to the hospital? You are joking. It is not an emergency. It is set by the dr. in the kupat cholim very easy and not with plaster. So don't call him a liar!!!
38. #22, You are absolutely correct...
Ben ,   Herzliya   (04.16.12)
and furthermore, if an inquiry determines that he was wrong, then let him face the consequences. But, please, for the sake of true justice, don't brand this man. Don't call him loyal, don't call him brutal. We just don't know what he is yet. There are many close to him who say he is a kind man, and non saying that he is known to be violent. Do you have such poor faith in your fellow Israelis that you don't trust their judgement about him? Lean to his defense until we know the truth about the incident and let's now change the conversation to other more tangible aspects about the event. Stop looking for blood.
39. Eisner did the right thing.
Vladimir ,   Yerushalaim   (04.16.12)
He did his duty. Anyone who resists a representative of the state authority, should foresee the consequenses. Eisner is persecuted only because he is religious. I cannot imagine such a situation in any other country.
40. I would do it too. He is a hero.
USA   (04.16.12)
41. Israeli officer reacted to highly unusal cercumstances
Roy Dyrli ,   Norway   (04.16.12)
When such things happen in Scandinavian countries, the police show up with biting dogs in the front line, and long sticks to beat the demonstrators with when needed. Try this in Oslo or Copenhagen, and and broken nose is nothing. I think Gantz and Natanyahu should stand up for their soldiers, rather than acting as they are on the Palestian side.
42. Get rid of demonstrators!
Anshel ,   Toronto, Canada   (04.16.12)
Deport the trouble makers to Syria, let them night for democracy there and as for Bibi, sometimes is better to keep the mouth shut.
43. Protestors
Max ,   washington dc   (04.16.12)
Peaceful protests are the cornerstone of every Democracy, but when the protesters use violence or attack Israeli soldiers they should be arrested and prosecuted according to the law. Maybe a better method of controlling the unrully activists would have been to use pepper spray or water spray to cool them off and then disperse or arrest them, if they became violent.
44. what happened before the video started?
hannah ,   ny, usa   (04.16.12)
Doesn't anyone wonder what happened prior to this video. It opens very abruptly, as though the prior action was edited. I would imagine it would show some context as to why eisner did what he did. I'm sure if it turned up it would be very enlightening. Also for those of you worried about the poor Dane- Maan news has a picture of him, post "beating", looking perfectly well, with a little bandage on his chin.
45. #2
cc ,   T-A   (04.16.12)
wy they was on the way to kill some settlers.he was and still is a dummmm soldier .he dont deserve even a rank.
46. The provocateur got what he asked for
john   (04.16.12)
What's the problem ? the denish scum provocateur challenged the officer by stepping and got on the officers face.By watching the video of this incident i am not at all surprised by the officer's reaction, and i hope this provocateur will learn his lesson and he should count himself lucky he was facing an Israeli officer and not a Syrian.
47. eisner case to UN security council to answer for the broken
eddie ,   sa   (04.16.12)
BROKEN BELL ON THE BICYCLE -just wait for it - from these nit-picking small minded anti semites.
48. it was a great move the dumb dane deserved

49. We support Eisner 100% !!
Efraim ,   Virginia   (04.16.12)
He did a good job. I personnaly would have given out more blows to these terrorists. But thats me.
50. Had that been an American he would have been treated like a
Milk D ,   USA/East Coast   (04.16.12)
rag doll...punch an American..not a 50 year old activist from DesMoine Iowa...try that on Ray Ray from LA or pooky from Philly...the outcome would've been barbaric...and we wouldn't be talking about this subject..we would be saying a famous saying that we use in the states.."the Colonel messed with the wrong person"
51. Eisner, not for shalom
Eli ,   Israel   (04.16.12)
A total embarassment. He should be relieved of his command. He is incapable of behaving as an officer should. Shame on him.
52. #32 Good idea. Israel needs Jewish refugess from arab lands
Hippocrates ,   Earth   (04.16.12)
meeting these often ignorant anarchists from the EU. That would be enlightening for sure.
53. Danish activist
Alain BigioB ,   Sao Paulo Brazil   (04.16.12)
I wonder in what state the danish activist would be in if he had done his act in Damascus?
54. #41 Scandinavia? Norway? Biting Dogs in front?
Milk D ,   USA/East Coast   (04.16.12)
That's why it is so hard for us Americans to understand..myself included..another American saying.." I wish you would" what's that mean??? IT means try that heavy handedness in the states!!! Why don't you see that in the states??? Same reason..WE WISH THEY WOULD...Dogs that bite!!! Hahaa
55. Protestors
Alex ,   Israel, LOD   (04.16.12)
Activists, stay in your countries and protest in you ouw capitals. You are not welcome here. We did not ask you to come here. You come here, start public disorders, then get punched in the face, well its your own fault. You wanna protest for palestinians, then go to gaze VIA democratic Egypt. Dont come here, we do not want you. GET the message stay home, you are not welcome.

57. about Shalom Eisner
ef ,   usa   (04.16.12)

58. #6 I think most of us here
Meghan ,   Israel   (04.16.12)
have seen the lastest Pallywood video. #1 where you there???
59. IDF Brass Incompetent for not having full video of 2 hrs
Paqid Yirmeyahu ,   Ra'anana, Israel   (04.16.12)
Not like they haven't been told many times to have a video documenter (soldier) at every point of expected conflict to record the entire event from the start to debunk these clips de convenance. It's happened over and over for years and the IDF brass and politicians just can't grasp the need, even after being told repeatedly.
60. hooligans
